The killer app would have to come through SMT's. We do not have it yet. The Community is the one great thing we have, and i mean that considering the fact that a significant/huge portion of the community is not looking at blockchains as revolutionary tools of/for/by the people, but rather ways to gain a chunk of future money supplies/to just grab as many vote crumbs as they can. I've even modified my own behavior in order to get more DLive votes, and it's annoying to see it, even in myself.

After that stuff with @ned last night, the time is just incredibly important. The delegations in this next period, well, they either go to decent and ingenious community members with the right thoughts in their head, and stop being insanely wasted in many cases, or steem is not gonna make it.

I get the stake based system, especially in contrast to brute force systems proving work, and consuming more processing power than the greatest worldwide game never yet created, but on another level, i think only a meritocracy really has a chance in this ecosystem.

What the CEO does now i'm watching closely as hell.

I just got Steemit account. I am a software developer. I am very impressed. Steemit is very different from others. Steemit will rule the social networking in the following years. I am running Youtube channels but I am not earning much even though I put a lot of effort but Steemit is giving credits to people for their skills. You can take some comfort that because your content is so good and accurate, others feel inspired to try make money from it. In a nutshell this is a good judge of ones value in the market when people impersonate them.

Listen to @dj123. He (I’m pretty sure it’s a he) is a perfect example of the type of person Steemit need some and wants.

When DJ finds content he truly values, he supports it, and supports it hard.

And he may get some curation rewards out of it, but with the amount of time he spends actually reading and now interacting with content, the payday isn’t likely to be large in the short term.

Long-term, though, if creators who work hard fondness curators who work hard, that can be a beautiful partnership that will pay off, emotionally and likely financially, over the long hall.

So yeah, listen to what he says, I promise you’ll only be better for it.

I agree with @lukestokes, Andreas would bring great value to the growing community. As for me, nobody comes close to the level that Andreas teaches in his Videos. He is truly the best at what he does, I mean who else is invited to teach governments in foreign countries about blockchain technology.

Steemians are crypto enthusiasts who create a new social community in the cryptocurencies sphere. This is the future, social apps based on users interests, and i belive that Steemit will be the biggest social app for crypto-enthusiasts, because it gives motivation... It motivates us to create good content, helpful content for the community, and to create a big community around cryptocurencies, and the most motivating aspect Steemit is giving us, is the fact that we get paid for our work, for our content, for our inspiration for others Steemians. I think Steemit is the next twitter for cryptoenthusiasts.

"With great power comes great responsibility". The fate of Steemit will ultimately depend on how responsibly the Stakeholders (a.k.a. "whales) will steer the platform. The have the power to signal to the whole community, through their votes, what type of content Steemit wants to select. To me, Steemit's direct analog in the pre-crypto world is Medium. Medium uses "claps" whereas Steemit went to a lot more trouble to actually design an incentive-based system. It "put more brain" in order to enable the platform to select better content. The tools are here. But the selection still needs to be made.

Now few things about my transparent @andreas-m-videos project.

The goal of @andreas-m-videos account was set from the very beginning, and was described in post:

From the very beginning it was my official initiative, "run by @noisy". I was never pretending to be an Andreas. Additionally, in the post linked above, there is my initial statement:

- because of my bigger follower base on @noisy account - which should help me gather more funds for future translations
- because I decided make those contribiutions through Utopian and by publishing those translations on Github: https://github.com/noisy/aantonop-subtitles, and current rules of Utopian are, that I should use a the same name on github and steem, so I decided to publish from @noisy Steem account, things which were pushed to repository from @noisy github account.

Also, whenever I published a translations, I always put an information, like this:

Yeah, I wasn't talking about the flagging bullshit, and I wasn't talking about people who can communicate effectively. There are people who were literally never afforded a basic education on this earth, and they're pretty screwed.

Perhaps you're under estimating the will of others, their ingenuity, and persistence.

When I was 17, my English was so broken, I could hardly put a sentence together, but I found a way, and many others will do so as well.

If these people found a way into the Steem blockchain, they will find a way to succeed. They can probably dance better than you or me, or play a song better than most, or have a great eye for art, or photography, or a thousand other things you and I have not even thought off.

There is a hierarchy, it has been proven time and time again that humans require a hierarchy to have a symbiotic community. There is a financial aspect to steemit (you can purchase bots etc even if it's frowned upon) but in my opinion compared to other social media platforms, steemit is much more equal opportunity based.

Easy enough to build an alter ego that is a dick. Respect runs both ways it is not a requirement that only us small people have to respect the big people because a whale may get angry. I provided you an upvote which I paid for and left a comment explaining why I did it. His decision to flag the comment the exact amount I paid for is big fuck you to the efforts I put in to earn the SBD required to pay for the upvote. Not only that he used the same bots to upvote this post, so we know he's not against using bots.

Right now scalability is obviously Cores top priority right now. Once this has been solved what do you think the next major improvement to the Bitcoin protocol should be?

I think its time now for the Steem community come forward and show him how the community can contribute positively to both Cryptocurrencies and publishing industry at the same time.

I hope @noisy and @aantonop will have a discussion to address this concern. In the mean time this also highlights the gap that needs to be filled so that every monetization can in some way attribute the original source of content and have an automated meaningful distribution of rewards so that both the content creator and curator or rewarded optimally. While steem addresses the issue of rewarding both the content creator and curator within the realm of Steem blockchain, it would be awesome if some blockchain could address the issue for the content that is outside their blockchain(I mean internet in general).

I am sorry to hear this. I know, even for my short time on steemit, that plagiarism is really frowned upon and can only imagine how frustrating it must be to the victims of it. However, I can say that my time here has been wonderful and I have witnessed the supportive and caring nature of many fellow steemians. There are many here who really do want to help others. It's great to hear more about you, since you're such a power for good as far as whales. I share the same story as Andreas was my teacher in the very beginning when i didn't understand Bitcoin in a deeper way. I am so thrilled that he is here finally.

Welcome to Steemit, Andreas! Sorry to hear about the impersonators. Some people are entirely too... centralized. I hope you make more use of this platform instead of letting YouTube make tons of money off your work, as well as Facebook, Twitter, etc... It seems incongruent, but perhaps necessary for the transition.

I believe that Steemit is the next Reddit and will eventually be the leader of all social media, eventually overtaking Facebook.

Bitcoin caused a career change for me a year ago this month from cross platform software development to blockchain IT, and your work is partly responsible. Thanks for all the videos!

Hello Andreas. A fellow European over here, whatever that means.... Anyways, happy to see a familiar face in here... Perhaps you could infuse some values and guidelines like the need for open discussions without retributions and free market competition within the steemit community, as i feel these are real hurdles for some of us who do not use an army of blind followers to pump up our post but rather rely on the merits of the post themseves.
Not sure where i am wanting to get at here, because this entails many inter related matters, technical, ethical etc bla bla bla....
In short all i want to say is that a higher level of intellectual discussion is very much need here. And that punishing those that point out the platforms weakness should not be punich but rather compensated, becuase it is the criticism that will make things better, not complacency.

Andreas! I'm so happy to see you here. I know there's a lot of FUD around STEEM, but please give it a chance and dig in to find the real value that exists here both in DPOS and in the community. You and I have been been tweeting back and forth since 2013 and that whole time I've been waiting for the killer app for cryptocurrency mass-adoption. I think STEEM is making that happen with Steemit, DTube, DLive, DMania, and more. Once Smart Media Tokens (SMTs) launch, it's only going to get even bigger.

Please, as a cryptocurrency and blockchain educator, bring your content to the STEEM blockchain. So many people have benefitted from your efforts over the years, and I'd love to see your content get rewarded here.

a lot of people do things without thinking about the consequences of the future. he violated the rights of others. copy and paste the article without accompanying the source and claiming it was the result of his effort, his goal to earn money or what he wants. on the internet, spam, pishing, scams are commonplace. there must be a workable regulation to protect the rights of an innovator on the internet.

Thank you Andreas! It was your talk with Joe Rogan that first got me interested into Bitcoin. If it wasn't for you I would of never found the world of cryptocurrencies. I truly value your opinions and knowledge to the point where I trust bitcoin, bitcoin core, segwit, and lightning network simply because you believe they are steps in the right direction.

Having someone with your credibility share content here would be amazing. This site has completely transformed the way I see social platforms. I can’t hardly spend time on any other platform now. The killer app would have to come through SMT's. We do not have it yet. The Community is the one great thing we have, and i mean that considering the fact that a significant/huge portion of the community is not looking at blockchains as revolutionary tools of/for/by the people, but rather ways to gain a chunk of future money supplies/to just grab as many vote crumbs as they can. I've even modified my own behavior in order to get more DLive votes, and it's annoying to see it, even in myself.

After that stuff with @ned last night, the time is just incredibly important. The delegations in this next period, well, they either go to decent and ingenious community members with the right thoughts in their head, and stop being insanely wasted in many cases, or steem is not gonna make it.

I get the stake based system, especially in contrast to brute force systems proving work, and consuming more processing power than the greatest worldwide game never yet created, but on another level, i think only a meritocracy really has a chance in this ecosystem.

What the CEO does now i'm watching closely as hell.

I've seen money thrown away lately, lots of it, and if it was my business, i'd be flipping out

We are a community and trying to keep it clean but there are so many out there who don't want this to happen. @aantonop with steemit being relatively new and exponentially growing, people are taking advantage of simply hyperlinking to original content on YouTube, (I am guilty of this myself, but always give credit and never claim a my own) anyway since me entering this space, you have been the one guy who I thoroughly enjoy listening to talk about cryptos, fintech and blockchain tech! I’m so glad you have joined steemit I am now following your every blog! I have only been here a few weeks myself , but am so passionate about decentralisation and manipulated interest rates and fake fiat currency , which is basically a scammier version of bitcoin !

I think this community has real potential, something like this was bound to happen, similar to how people swipe things for karma on reddit, only the incentive here is different. But I think as long as its called out as you've done here it'll get the platform to implement some changes, such as some kind of certification mark for creators.

You're not the first to be impersonated. @djkhaled's account name has already been taken. The irony is that all Steemit accounts are supposed to be thoroughly reviewed during the registration process. Yet it seems even the names of prominent figures can be appropriated in the name of parody.

IN my opinion I believe I put out great, creative content, I spend a lot of time working on them yet NO ONE votes and it's really discouraging because I'm basically wasting my time, right?

If you were a beta tester and installed the plugin manually, uninstall it and install it directly via the wordpress.org store. This way you'll recieve all the updates directly in your dashboard.

@aantonop ... I am new here, but have been involved with Cryptocurrencies and bitcoin for a while now. You are a very influential individual and many upon many people respect you. If you truly are concerned about the issue of "impersonators" pretending to be you then may I suggest a few options to publicly verify this account to reassure everyone on Steemit that they are indeed following the authentic andreas antonopoulos account. Option one, which would be the easiest and most socially accepted approach in my opinion, simply share your Steemit account on your Verified Twitter account, this way people will have absolutely no doubt that you are indeed the authentic Andreas. In addition to option 1 there is option number two, it would take a bit more time but would in my opinion be the best choice for Steemit to indeed accept this account as the one and only @aantonop account. simply do a quick video introducing yourself and advocating for this account, whilst also adding an additional segment in the video stating your opinions and voicing your concerns on the issue off "impersonators". It's great to see you here, and spreading yourself across multiple social platforms, you truly are a humble and great example to us all and we love you. Peace V.

Steemit verification works using a simple method.. just write down your Steemit user name of a paper and take a selfie with that paper and post it here.. I don't want to be rude, but this post doesn't show any evidence to your identity.. its better if you follow the general norms of identity verification.. thanks

Andreas, I 'm so excited to read your blogs and contributions here on Steemit.
I'm experienced the same periods in my life as you had talk about in your youtube videos. I have been also sucked many times in this new technology around computers, internet and now Bitcoin and as you named this paradigm Internet of money recently.

I also have one great idea about anonymous identity blockchain to register unique identifications stamps which can be anonymus and on the other hand can be used as unique identification keys on internet and other decentralized platforms.

@aantonop, after hearing about Cryptocurrency, the very first book I ever read on the topic was your book "The Internet of Money". I'll never forget it was that book that made me realize that we have to look at the use cases of the blockchain. My mind was blown. In essence, your book was the red pill I took. This is Rakesh. I am working in a software company in India. I had started Youtube channel for helping the students to learn IT technical stuff like Java. www.youtube.com/letsmakelearningsimple .

I am getting good response for my channel but I am not earning much. I am putting my full effort for doing videos. I use to spend all my weekends for making good lecture videos. Till now, I just earned 15 dollars. This is discouraging me to make good videos.

Though, I am getting good response but I am not earning for the effort that I put.

I had heared about Steem 2 weeks before. I was freezed by their intention. Their aim is to give credits to the content creators. YouTube also gives credit when we monitize our videos but 45/55 partnership is not good.

We create good contents but YouTube is earning on behalf of us.

YouTube must change their policy else they won’t succeed. I think YouTube is thinking that no competitors would come to beat them. Their thoughts were correct till Dtube wasn’t in the race.

Now, everything is getting changed. I heared that many people are started to use Dtube and other steem products.

Steem should teach some lesson to YouTube.

YouTube does many good things but when comes to money they are earning more share from our work.

I just started using Steem. I have seen many good things.

Steem is in beta stage but they are outstanding.
When they rollout the original version after fixing bugs and adding new features then no one can beat them.

Recently, Facebook CEO said that he would be learning block chain technology. He also stated that he would bring block chain technology to decentralise Facebook if possible. That’s what Steem is already doing.

Steem is ahead of other traditional social networking platforms.

Steem would be even more better if they do the following things:

UI needs to be redesigned.
Many features need to be added.
Mobile Apps
Steem would rule the social networking in the next few years.

hey Andreas, I hope you are fine and doing great. I just want to say that this world is full of bad people as well as full of good people, it just depends on you who you want to be. A good person who helps others for no sake and the person who helps other just for showing off.
The other side is the bad person who always does badly.
