According to Garnida (2002: 254). The scope of science subjects includes:
1. Living things and their life processes, namely humans, animals, plants, and their interactions.
2. Material, properties, and uses include: air, water, soil, and rocks.
3. Electricity and magnetism, energy and heat, simple forces and planes, light and sound, the solar system, the earth and other celestial bodies.
4. Health, eating, disease and prevention.
5. Natural resources, uses, maintenance and preservation.
