From the definition of the word "Decent", I have picked the keywords Standards, Respectable and Moral Behaviour.

Memes are easy to consume, easy to share, funny and people can mostly relate to good (familiar) memes.

The idea
Decent Memes has a unique USP, which is Curating them manually, which can consume a lot of time. Decent Memes is therefore always looking for... Decent Memes. I've put the monocle of a 'respectable man with standards who believes in moral behaviour', around the word "Decent" to keep the focus on curating decent memes and placed the two words inside a moustache, to give it an overall Gentleman/Sir feeling.

this was the first thing that came to my mind when I started to create the logo..

It is fundamental to take a deeper look at the base and original idea of a project when you create a logo. Nowadays it is so easy to create fancy looking logos which is a shame. I charge between 850-1500 € for a logo design, but it's the concept where you're paying for. Every designer can create a good logo, if the party can explain itself properly. Have you? Can't relate to that tbh after taking a look at your entry.

I do enjoy this one. Simplicity is often the best logo.

Is there a message hidden in the frog? Seems like so.
Would love it if you share with us the idea that was behind it.

My interpretation of being decent is being clean or simple in a way that it doesn't distort the idea of being sophisticated. The frog symbolizes the old logo of decent memes. and as you can see the way the limb of the frog had been lay out so as to form a letter D which is the first letter of the decent memes.@acidyo

Firstly there are some memes that don't work and can't be posted which is kind of frustrating. I like this project and hope to see it succeed but this kind of bugs should be fixed as soon as possible because it has been happening for a while. If @netuoso or anybody need more information I can make a gif about it.
Also I would definitely, positively 100% would love to curate some memes and also help with reporting other bugs that will surely come along with further development.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of "Impact", but I think it works great in logos (e.g. IMDb) and above all it's the meme font. So, you don't have to read the words to know it's about memes. I combined it with a flat colored cube.

Feedback: It's a text on a cube.
1. It doesn't look that impressive. If it is this simple it has to wow you. For example nike logo is very simple but it works because it has inherit aesthetic values because of the shape. Yours do not.
2. The idea behind the logo is not obvious. Why is it a square? What does it represent?
3. Can't really say anything about the technical execution as it simple as it is.

Look at Samsung or Ikea, they use a text on a ellipse. Or Google: a text in four different colors. I don't think logos have to be impressive. They have to work in the long run. By the way: Nike paid the designer 35 bucks for the swoosh. It's a good logo because it represents speed. I see your point. Maybe my logo fails to represent the idea behind decent memes. What I tried to do was to use something 3d (everything that is 3d has a center) and make it flat, so it's not clear anymore where the center is. (-> "decentralized")
Technical execution: I used Adobe illustrator to create a cube shape. The font is Impact (representing memes) I increased the tracking of the word "memes" to align both words. Then I used the Pathfinder tool to cut the text out of the cube.

Like you said, the logo does fail to represent the tone and meaning. You have to remember that the person who needs the logo does not really care about what you tried or how much work it took. All that matters is the result.

Honestly, I think all your submissions kinda miss the mark on being recognisable, good looking and unique. They are simple and lack that special sauce to make it stand out.

But don't get discouraged, keep trying and improving. You'll get there!

Here is a fun way to train - got to web and try to recreate some e-sports team logos or game logos. By doing that you will learn some interesting styles, techniques and more importantly - your brain will start giving you better ideas about what works and what does not.

I don't quite like what you did with the frog, I think it needs a bit more shading because you did the typography so well! The typography has this very classical cartoony look and I like it! Good job on the kerning so both sides stay at the same length. But yeah, because you did the fonts so well it feels like you should have gone that extra mile on that frog shading.
But overall- really good job mate!

Please don't misunderstand me - I only said that you need to add shading to the frog is because you have shading and highlights on your text. Because of this diference the logo does not feel as uniform as it should. So right now you kinda have depth on the letters but the drawing looks kinda flat. So make it either everything is flat or everything has depth with shading. But since you did a really good job with shading on the letters - I suggest you add it on the frog as well.

If I'm not mistaken, it basically puts you on a list that blocks autovotes being cast on your posts and comments in the future. So, @sneak judged and flagged me because I placed a meme, in a meme contest post, without taking a proper look at my earlier published posts, which are despite the Jerry rant, almost exclusively content contributed on the Steemit platform.

I was searching about the purpose of this account because it noticed it was flagging some of the accounts I am following and there's no way they could be spammer or abuser neither their posts that get flagged from sneak and blacklist-a, and I follow very few user here. When I asked them they didn't know the reason for the flag made me more curious.

Hmm, interesting. I don't know the exact reason why he flagged me, but he is certainly abusing his rep on this one. You can also just remove a flag afterwards, but the bot flagger need to be removed manually as well. Damage has been done anyway.

I read that one of the blacklists was essentially a blackmailing scheme where they forced you to "reform" and pay some absurd amount of internet moneys to even be considered for removal from the blacklist. A bunch of bullshit if you ask me.

I have heard rumors about nazis wearing red laces, but I have never witnessed it myself. For example, a GIS for "red laces charlottesville" turns up no evidence. I'm skeptical that it's a common thing.

I don't think it's very widespread, and I've been wearing red laces for decades because I think it looks cool as an accent color (I also always wear all black and have a red watch band and red hair)—nobody has ever come up to me and treated me as a nazi as a result.

Most people who wear red shoe laces aren't nazis, most nazis don't wear red shoe laces. I guess the hitler salute is the dead giveaway in this image, not the shoes. So, maybe @sneak shouldn't use his shoes as his logo because people could misinterpret it, but wearing them is perfectly ok.

Pepe being used by nazis isn't an urban legend. It's in active use for that purpose today; you can see it for yourself on the internet in five minutes.

If you read the rest of the thread you'll see that @acidyo's use of Pepe was by accident, and the racist connotations are why he's getting rid of it as the logo. He cleared it up.

The cross is not a racist symbol, despite the KKK having used it. They were and are a tiny minority of users. Just like the pre-NSDAP use of the swastika. I noticed this very late so I had to rush to get a few entries in, but here they are.

Because I had so little time they do not look as clean as they could, but should one of my designs win, I will be happy to recreate the same design with any requested amendments, in far greater quality, as I will have the time to do so at the point.

Here's a little preview, as they look very different in day/night mode.
