Subconscious: Power and Layers

The way our lives are going, the things that happen to us depend not so much on external factors and circumstances but on our deepest beliefs, on our attitude, our subconscious patterns of thinking and behavior. In other words, our lives reflect our subconscious programming.

Understanding the power of the subconscious, the positive thinking, and the various methods such as confirmation and visualization, helps us begin to work on reprogramming our subconscious. Many of us take the spiritual path by learning to accept the world as it is and striving to rise above the limits and desires of the ego-mind.

Often, however, we are starting to build a new vision for ourselves and the world without clearing our old subconscious programs. Excited by new ideas and insights, desiring to become a "new person" and to change our lives for the better, we unconsciously suppress our feelings, try to forget the past, ignore our problems, deny what is in us, to deceive ourselves.

But man's psyche is a complex multi-layered system. The conscious part that is on the surface occupies a very small percentage of it. The vast majority includes the subconscious, which consists of different levels. Some of our subconscious thoughts can be realized and analyzed by simply redirecting our attention. There are, however, deeper layers hidden from our consciousness, which we can only reach through special techniques - this is the so-called unconscious, where our hidden desires and impulses are. Past thoughts and memories can be "wiped out" by consciousness, but they govern the thoughts and feelings of a person from the sphere of the unconscious.

According to psychoanalysis, the unconscious does not include everything that is not conscious, but rather only what is actively suppressed by conscious thoughts or what the person denies and does not want to admit.

If we start building new beliefs and ideas and at the same time suppressing our feelings that are still in us, we push them deeper into the unconscious, so deep that we no longer have access to them. However, they still exist there. In this way we turn our subconscious into our enemy. We cannot make a real change if we do not go deep into these layers to clear the garbage. Otherwise, "change" remains only on the surface, as a mask behind which we try to hide from ourselves.

You may have thought you forgave a person, but something happens that brings you unsuspected feelings and you realize how much pain and anger you have covered in yourself?

Or do you tend to repeat that life is wonderful, that you accept it as it is that you only see the good, but you feel tension, anxiety or sickness? And you ask yourself - "Have I misled so far? So I did not forgive myself, so I did not accept the world as it is and I cannot really be over my problems? "

Why is this happening?

When we begin to change, we influence our beliefs on a conscious level. Certainly, affirmations are gradually accepted by the subconscious and become automatic thoughts. Along with them, however, old subconscious beliefs and depressed feelings remain in us. And while we are convinced that we have already accepted the new beliefs, there is another set of subconscious levels. It has no place to go if we do not get it out of the blue. There is a conflict between consciousness and subconscious. Dr. Bruce Lipton, author of "Biology of Belief," writes:

"And what happens when beliefs in the subconscious are in conflict with the wishes of consciousness? Uniquely, the subconscious always wins, as it is 1 million times more powerful in processing information. "

Neuroscience proves that ninety-five to ninety-nine percent of our behavior is directly derived from the subconscious. But if it is not cleared from the old programs, how can it accept the new ones? The quantum physicist Vadim Zeland also repeatedly emphasizes that in order to achieve the desired, there must be a synergy between soul and reason.

I had a moment when I thought I had accepted some circumstances in my life and that I was over the problem that stood before me. But it happened that life put me in a situation that brought out my true feelings deeply buried in me. Then I realized that I did not actually accept what was real, and everything was on the surface. There was still a resistance in me that I was trying to cover up.

At that moment I was asking - "Why, after I have accepted what Is, I feel bad? Is not everything as it should be?" I found in the words of Eckhart Tolle:

"True acceptance would instantly transform these feelings. If you really deeply know that everything is "in the right order" as you say, and which is undoubtedly true, would you have any negative feelings at all? Without judging, without resisting what is, they would not arise. You have in your mind the idea that "everything is fine", but you do not believe it deeply, so the old psycho-emotional models of resistance remain intact. That's why you feel bad."

I realized that spirituality, as well as positive thinking, can be an escape from reality. Not that they are a bad thing, not that they are a kind of illusion. But if we do not clear the "waste" of the subconscious, the spiritual path can be like building a house on a rotten base. Yes, it will be new, beautiful and magnificent, but it can collapse any moment.

How can we achieve a real change?

Of course, the discovery of new "layers" that we need to work on is a normal process. As we develop, there will always be a need for "repairs" - from throwing out old unnecessary items or processing and strengthening the base. After all, this may be one of the engines that pulls us forward. I haven't found the right ways to clear my own subconscious, yet.
But this hasn't stopped me from trying.

Thank you for reading!

This topic is really interesting and vast and cannot be captured in a single Steemit article. It seems like you have deep interest in how our mind works especially in the field of psychoanalysis where things get really deep and some people find it hard and confusing to understand.
>According to psychoanalysis, the unconscious does not include everything that is not conscious, but rather only what is actively suppressed by conscious thoughts or what the person denies and does not want to admit.

Please note that SUBconscious and UNconscious are two really different things.
For further reading and understanding this topic I suggest you read A General Introduction to Psychoanalysis. It's a great read only to begin with, which will help you understand basic concepts and ideas, some of which you discuss in this article !
Resteemed :)

Thank you.
I really need to read more about the subconscious and unconscious. The differences between these to are hard for me to understand.
It needs a thousand and more articles, in my opinion, to cover everything about how our minds work and even with them we won’t know everything there is to know. :)

Thoughtful! Our thinking is determined by our belief system, which eventually determines the outcome of what happens to us and around us

Exactly! This is why we need to work on it so we can make our lives a bit better :)
