Dragonflies are predators that feed on insects caught on the fly. They are of great importance to us. Dragonflies regulate the number of bloodsucking insects and pests of a forest. My friend, being a botanist, sent me these beautiful photos. I'm glad to share the mysterious life of dragonflies.

The pictures are beautiful. If your botanist friend took them as well, then its amazing. But I have a question please. Do dragonflies have any harmful disadvantages as they are important? If they do, how much will it tip a scale compared to their beautiful sides?
My children and I enjoy a series of Books by Reg Down that are whimsical and very sweet. In one of the books, a fairy named Tiptoes Lightly says that dragonflies are the very best fliers because they can fly all directions, including backwards. It made me pause and think because I'd never really thought about it before. Pretty marvelous!
