Here I am again with a tutorial post.
One may say we probably have so many tutorial posts and a lot have been explained in the frequently asked questions, so we do not need another shit tutorial post from a minnow. Well that may be true for you as an expert but from my experience as a newbie and coming from a country where one could own a mobile phone only after he was old enough to work and buy one out of the luxury of his profit, I would say it is very necessary that we keep posting and refreshing our minds and showing the newbies the way.
In recent times, the Ghanaian steemit community, #steemitghana, has attained massive growth and with so many individuals showing their friends and family about the light they have found, the community keeps growing each and every day.
TODAY I WOULD BE TALKING ABOUT TAGS

Tags are ways by which we identify, label or track a post on steemit. Think of it as having an animal farm and hanging a tag with the days of the week around their necks. You would be able to seek out those born on Monday, Tuesday, etc.
That is how steemit tags work; it enables your post to belong to a group or collection of post related to the same topic.
It brings your post into a sub-pool of its kind.
Posting without at least one tag on steemit is not possible. It just goes to confirm the saying, "No man is an Island". You need to belong to a family, a community or team.
So what tags can I use?
Tags will help people find your posts and they need to related to the topic and content at hand. After writing a post, you need to tell us what it is about; is it about sports, painting, drawing, buildings, religion, etc, then those are going to be your tags.
Can I use all of them
No!
You have a maximum of 5 tags and a minimum of 1 tag.
It is advisable to use all tag to increase post visibility and included in many 'sub-groups' but be sure these choosen tags are related to the topic and content.
What other way can I tag?
Tags can equally be done using the "#" infront of the word in your post . Assusming no tags are included below in your post and you have a #ghana tag in content, that would be used as your tag. As many hashtag words you have would be pulled down to fill the remaining spaces in the tag section till the 5 spaces are full
Can I edit my tags after posting?
Sure you can edit, but the first tag is not editable. First tags are very important. That forms the main category your post would be placed in and it must be chosen wisely.
Can I customise my own tag?
Everyone can make their own tags but the question here is; would someone be looking out for your tag, say "myhouseisred"? It is most advisable to include your post in categories that have more visibility by using some popular tags but if there is a project or campaign or something of the sort, custom tags are very necessary.
What happens when I use a wrong tag?
Tags that lead people astray or 'decoy tag' may be prone to flags or downvotes by some steemit members. I may not flag you because I think its a mistake but others may.

- Tags are supposed to be lowercase letters. Space then with single spaces as extra spaces are also seen as words
- 'nsfw' tag is mandatory for erotic content as well as other posts which requires viewer discretion
- It is advisable to add a community tag or county tag if you belong to one, like #ghana
You don't have to be a writer from birth to know the right tags to use
