60+ Steemians sing together "Despacito" - The first karaoke collaboration on DTube

A week ago I was hanging out in the @cervantes discord channel and some people were speaking about contests and some others were discussing music - you know how it is in a chat room, lots of conversations at the same time and you never know who´s talking with who - and I got an idea.

How awesome would it be to sing a song together? Could it be achievable?

I asked around in the voice chat and people were interested in seeing how it would develop such an idea and some even proposed a few songs, but there was one that caught my attention.

Despacito by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee was, without any question, the most popular spanish song in 2017 - and probably around the world and every language - and when @angielb proposed it, I knew I had to try and organize a karaoke collaboration.

I made a post about it a within the hour there was already around 15 people calling dibs on a song line and two days later 90% of the lines were taken.

Without any editing and music syncing skills rather than my amateurly edited videos, I started to organize every piece of the song - some people sent their part via discord, some others via steemit chat, a few even asked for my whatsapp number and there were some rebeles that uploaded their part to youtube and just sent me the link.

7 days passed and more than 10 hours compiling, editing and syncing were spent, but it was fun to watch each and every one take their best shot at singing a cappella and I can say I am quite proud of the final version.

Ven y canta con ellos!

Hace una semana pasaba el rato en el chat de @cervantes en discord y algunos hablaban sobre los diferentes concursos que organizan, orgos conversaban acerca de música y su canciones favoritas - ya saben como son las salas de chat, muchas conversaciones a la vez y nunca sabes quien habla con quien y sobre que tema - y fue entonces cuando se me ocurrió una idea.

Que increíble sería cantar una canción todos juntos? ¿Puede ser posible organizarnos todos juntos?

Pregunté a los que estaban presentes en el chat de voz si les interesaría participar en algo de ese estilo y la respuesta fue positiva, varios se interesaron en la idea y unos cuantos hasta propusieron canciones, pero hubo una que llamó mi atención.

Despacito de Luis Fonsi fue, sin duda alguna, la canción en español más popular del 2017 - y probablemente en todo el mundo - y cuando @angielb la propuso, supe que debía intentar y organizar un karaoke masivo.

Hice un post acerca de la convocatoria y en menos de una hora 15 personas ya se habían apuntado a participar y dos días después el 90% de las líneas ya tenían dueño.

Sin mucha experiencia en edición y sincronización de música más que la que editar mis videos amateurs me ha dado, comencé a organizar cada pieza - algunas personas me enviaron su parte por discord, otras via steemit chat, algunas más me mandaron su video por whatsapp y hubo algunos rebeldes que subieron su video a youtube y me compartieron el link.

7 días pasaron y más de 10 horas fueron invertidas en compilar, editar y sincronizar, pero fue muy divertido ver todos y cada uno de los videos que me enviaron y ver como cada quien daba su mejor versión de artista interior a cappella y, puedo decir que estoy orgullos de la versión final.

Espero la disfruten tanto como estos Steemians lo hicieron al grabarse y como yo disfruté editando.

Algunas canciones van en contra de la lógica y Despacito es una de ellas... terminas tarareándola, cantándola y de seguro en algún momento se te fue un paso de baile sin querer, eso que dicen los expertos... reacciones automáticas.
La música es la mejor medicina... si estas triste escucha Despacito en vez de pop, si te sientes enamorado o despechado sentirás que todo lo escribieron para ti, o que es exactamente lo que sientes.
Hacer el ridículo es lo de menos cuando puedes reírte sin parar hasta de ti mismo. En mi caso, amo la risa de mi hija Lety de 2 años al verme cantar desafinada o bailar con ella dando vueltas.

Jajaja me encanta tu publicación, porque además de graciosa e inteligente. Esos multitag que hiciste con la letra, es ilustrador. Soy Hondureño de la zona caribeña pero vivo desde hace un año en Francia. Cuando arrivé, la canción era éxito mundial, y en mi país odian a esos dos cantantes jajaja. Ese es el poder de la música. Lo que sí es cierto, es que nosotros los caribeños bailamos esas canciones así, despacito, y pagaditos. Gracias compa.
