يوجد العديد من الخيول متباينة الأحجام والأشكال والألوان في العالم، من أهمها ما يلي:

هناك أعداد كبيرة من أنواع الخيول العربية، وحديثاً تم تقسيمها إلى ثلاثة أنواع رئيسية هي:

الخيول العربية

من المعروف أن الحصان العربي مشهور بالأصالة والعراقة والجمال، وقد اهتمّ العرب بها قديماً وحرصوا على إثبات أنسابها والمحافظة على أصلها وذلك بالمحافظة على صفاء سلالتها دون اختلاطها مع السلالات الأخرى، وقد كان المماليك يبدون اهتماماً كبيراً بكل ما يخص الخيول العربية، حيث كانوا يقدَرون السلالات المنحدرة من الصحراء ويخصصون لها أموالاً طائلة لتوليدها محلياً في مصر، كما كانوا يتقيدون في الأساليب العربية في كل ما يتعلق بتربية الخيول، وقد اعتبروا المعرفة بالخيول دليلاً على المكانة الاجتماعية الرفيعة، وكان لديهم اهتمامٌ كبير في الاعتناء بإسطبل الخيل، ولا يهم حجم المال المنفق عليه.

وهناك خمسُ فصائل رئيسة ضمن سلالة الحصان العربي، ولكنهم قسّموا سلالتها فيما بعد إلى ثلاثة أنواع رئيسة يدخل ضمنها عشرون فصيلة رئيسة، وتتفرع إلى مئتيْن وأربعين فصيلة فرعية، وبالنسبة لفصائل الحصان العربي من جهة الأم، فهي ترجع إلى ثلاثٍ وعشرين فصيلة، تعود معظمها إلى ثلاثة أنواع وهي الكحيلان والمعنكي أو (المعنقي) والصقلاوي.

- Saqlawy Horse: The reason for naming this name relative to the scaffolding of his hair and the speed of his enemy, and is known as the best Arabian horses used for festivals and celebrations, such as the wedding because of the beauty and originality, characterized by beautiful head and wide forehead and nose Harmonized, and is smaller than the size of Elkhelan, Namely: Al-Aiban, Al-Saqlawi, Al-Tuwaisan, Al-Dahman, Al-Jidrani, Al-Dahman, Al-Rishan, Muwaj, Al-Milwa,
