Steem has passed $3 (USD) again today! Things are looking good for the market as a whole and Steem is looking very healthy. This is a good time to continue to accumulate. It could drop again (and likely will fluctuate around $3 for a bit), but why chance it instead of just averaging out by buying at multiple times over the next few months? As long as it is below $5, I think it is a great time to accumulate, as I've been saying for a while. $5 will be a LONG distant memory by 2020, I suspect, so if you have the patience and the tenacity to bet big here on the future of Social Media and the monetization of content, you could be literally rolling in money because you have so much. I have an important note though.
I want to note that I'm still firm on the fact that SMTs are absolutely vital for Steem to reach the bullish heights that I suspect it will reach. It is vital that they get released and, just as importantly, it is vital that they get released in a timely manner. SMT Creation Functionality released in a timely manner will be a game changer for the Steem Blockchain and the DApps that are being ferociously worked on will just become more and more flexible and powerful. We will see the rise of the children of Steem (SMTs) and the mother currency, Steem herself, will be so much more valuable and precious for it. Stay Strong and Steem On! Keep accumulating and living the dream, earning steem! :)

I noticed that too and I have to say, it is VERY ENCOURAGING. It shows resistance from Steem against overall market downturns. Now, Steem has seen some downturn based on the market downturn, but every now and again we see great resilience, showing that to some degree it moves on its own accord, which in my opinion is a sign of strength as a cryptocurrency! :)
