Not here to spread FUD, just want to have a conversation with my fellow Steemians! :) So, @ned has begun a power down of about 1.8 Million Steem at a time when Steem is dipping. There are many reasons why he may be doing that and I think that to a degree there is no reason he should have to share why he is doing it. That said, I know that if he makes a public statement regarding why (even if it is for personal reasons), it will instill confidence in people that are afraid he is preparing an exit/abandoning ship! I can't imagine that this is the case, as everything that has been said and all of his efforts lead me to believe that he is fully invested in realizing SMTs and ensuring that Steem is one of the top blockchains during and after this revolution matures! Another conclusion is that he thinks/knows a spike is on its way and he wants to be ready to liquidate a little bit once it skyrockets, while still keeping a huge amount. I think that he is likely just using it for personal reasons or to increase the speed of development of Steem, but we will see. I know this will scare some people, but I'm not worried. Steem will fly. It is just a waiting game at this point.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS POWER DOWN? ARE YOU WORRIED? DO YOU THINK THAT PEOPLE ARE GETTING WORKED UP OVER NOTHING? SHARE BELOW! UPVOTE AND RESTEEM TO KEEP THE DISCUSSION GOING!
AS ALWAYS, WISHES OF WEALTH AND HEALTH FOR ALL! :)
People will FUD no matter what he says and so whats the point. Plus its his money. If you all want to judge @ned watch what he does for the community (SMTs) and how he speaks about Steemit, defensively and with committment.
Plus he replied to @whatageek on this question yesterday.

but it still doesn't really explain anything at all, just that ned thinks the guy's content is crap. If that's Ned's way of saying that he's taking Steem out because he thinks there is a content problem, it is informative, otherwise not really.

I saw that, but that honestly might be the vaguest thing any person could say, not to mention he seems to be jabbing in it (although I don't have context from the screenshot). Do you have the link to the article where this is, since this screenshot, which I've seen floating around, doesn't even give any context to the response?

nvm, found the context: https://steemit.com/steemit/@whatageek/hey-ned-can-you-please-comment-about-the-power-down#@ned/re-whatageek-hey-ned-can-you-please-comment-about-the-power-down-20180622t172343926z, still doesn't give much explanation. Ned just thinks the guy's post sucks it seems haha

Yeah well I can see that this may have a impact on Steem, however, he has a right to move his stake if desired and the demand of explanation from the masses further solidifies the centralized aspect of this platform. Ok, well, since i'm a crytpo comedian and I rarely speak on anything serious lol I think that should last me for the next week or so.
Truce out :)

haha I agree that he has the right to move it and we shouldn't need an explanation, I just am pointing out that people do look to him as a compass regarding the direction/future of the development of the steem blockchain, so there could be a lot of panic selling/fear surrounding the move IF he doesn't make a statement. Good point though that it does point to the fact that a lot of people are relying on the Steemit Inc Dev Team/Ned for the future of Steem. :)
Good to see this post and in my opinion it's not an worry because it's his personal account and he is also an user in a way. In my opinion this power down is done for circulation of Steem to develop the projects related to the SMT's, Hove mind, Hard Fork and other modules of One Account and One Vote and Oracle System. So i may be wrong but it's an possibility.
And many have wrong perception about the Steem Blockchain and that is they directly relate Steemit and Steem Blockchain and it has to be clear because Steemit can be shut because it's just an interface. I know that Steemit Inc have large stake but not the only Stake Holders so Steem Blockchain will continue.
Thanks for sharing this post with us and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂
See if he's in Fud so he should exit it because at the end he should not blame to Steem. But for me who can fight with did just Hodl it, you know, I know whales are playing with us. They want us to exit only so that they can enter again at lower price in order to earn huge profits.
Have a great day and wonderful night 😊😊
1) No would be the time for all "whale complaners" to become a dolphin. Keep in mind: whales sticked to their Steem Token when the price was at 4$.
2) Steemit inc invested in DLive which is working pretty fine.
3) Steemit has the worlds most active blockchain. Why leave?
4) Where is the Steemit competitor?
5) Why leave when you have a great and commited community? #steemcharity #steemfest #steemmonster #openmic #steemitboard #museproject
