Luan and Jared were really in a rush today to get to school; they knew their work and knew that they will do well in the spelling bee.

When they got to school all the children were still walking round with lists of words to try and learn a little more. 

It is very important to be ready for this spelling bee as it will give them another medal. 

They loved receiving medals, as all children do but that does not mean if you do not get one, that it is bad as there are only three for each class. 

Once they got to class the teacher said. Well today is our big day, I am really looking forward to it.

Today it will work a bit differently. 

Every class will have their test and then the three best ones will come together and they have to fight it out against each other. This is in every age group and the three best ones of all will all get a gold medal. 

We are only giving gold medals today. There will be a few chances in every age group. Then they started and if a child spelt something wrong they would have to sit and she would ask the next child to spell the word. 

If the child was right he or she would go and stand in the front of the class and then they will have to find three that is left over. 

It was difficult but Jared and Luan both stood in front as they did know all the word they were asked. There were about ten children in the front after every other child had fallen out. 

Now the bigger words came and they had to spell like never before. 

In the end Luan, Jared and a girl cold Sophia was the only three left. 

They were so happy and they knew this meant they still had to compete against the other two classes. That meant that there were nine left.

Now it was break time and they could eat their lunch and talk about what they felt. 

All nine of them loved it but they felt worried, as they all wanted a medal. 

They loved it so much as there was nothing nicer than knowing you work hard for something and you can do well.

Then they started with the nine and the only ones left were Luan, Sophia and Jared. 

They were so happy. This meant that they both now had 2 gold medals and they knew that their parents would be very proud of them. 

After school they raced home and said to Luan’s mother she must guess which one got the gold medal. 

She said I think you both got gold as you really worked hard. 

Oh mother you are so clever, and you really helped us so much and they hugged her.

 They took their medals out and showed them to her. She said I am really proud of you two and Jared could phone his father again and tell him. Jared’s father said that is very nice, now there will be a lot of work for us as we have to make those boxes.

I will let you two help me. 

They were pleased as they loved working with wood and Jared’s father. 

When he came past he did not hoot and came inside to tell them how pleased and proud he was of them, and he wanted to see the twins as he really loved them, as well as their medals.
