Just got to Plitvice lakes (accommodation near it) with a plan of spending a day on the lakes tomorrow. Guess what? It is going to rain all day tomorrow. Starting to think rain is following me π At least waterfalls will be at full strength.
Back to the Hive Fest Split.

I arrived to Split on the day of the opening, after driving around 11 hours. Considering some people were flying for 24 hours and more, this was easy. But arriving at 10AM and being able to check in at 2PM was foreshadowing something that is pretty standard on Hive Fest.
Lack of sleep π

After getting 3 hours of sleep in the last 30 or so hours i was off to the bar. In Amsterdam two years ago i was a bit worried how everything will look, how weird will it be to talk with people that i never met. And i knew no one.
There was no need for it, because all this weird people were great.

This time i was happy to see many faces, old and new. Also a bit embarrassed with forgetting a lot of names. I suck at names. I would say i am pretty good with faces, and there were a lot of familiar ones.

Photography side of it. I still didn't really check all the other days, so no idea how did i do. What i learned before and seen it with this first night, but can't stop doing, is that when i try to take photos and also film some video, i am not doing a great job at any of it. It is decent but not great :)

So i only got these usable photos. There were some more with people making weird faces. But not weird enough to be funny.

I love candid photos, but sometimes still feel awkward (i would never guess how to spell this) taking them. If people don't notice me, cool shot or weird face. If they do, most of the time it goes to photo face or they try to ignore me but still conscious of the camera.

Here is the video from the opening night if you missed it
Now rereading it, this post is pure rambling :) I need to sleep, got the ticket to Plitvice lakes for 7AM. So rambling it is.
Photos from all the other days will probably happen from Sunday to somewhere into the next week. So you get another week of Hive Fest feelings.
I am also not tagging people. Most of you are public, but...
And also also. If you think for some weird reason that some of the photos are great feel free to use it. Credit is appreciated.
> Hahaha, you are never safe - I will find you ππ
good thing i am moving around every two days at the moment. bad thing, i am writing about it on a public blockchain π
> I heard that quite often...
wait people say that to your face? i only did it because i know i am at least 10 hour drive away from you π
good to know it was not me tripping :)
i am still in Croatia. Not happy with editing on my laptop, especially on a touchpad (lost the Bluetooth for the mice). So the main part of the photos will be up when people start to forget about HiveFest :)
Yeah, I completely missed my 7 year Hive anniversary this year, which was in June. I realized it about a month later. It does seem forever sometimes, but if I miss a few weeks, I always feel like I've missed so much, it's weird.
Yeah, I know driving in Europe can be like that. I used to drive quite a lot. When I was still living in the Netherlands, I used to drive everywhere, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, you name it, but that's ages ago. Then I moved to Ireland and drove even more, but only within Ireland and maybe Northern Ireland sometimes. And that's completely different because there's hardly any traffic, so no stress or road rage (which is quite common in the Netherlands). But in Ireland I'd get lost all the time, LOL. I did drive back to the Netherlands via ferry and either France or the UK a few times, which is on a whole other level too. But since I came to Mexico, I have hardly driven any car. I still need to get my Mexican driver's license, which I've been putting off for a long time, but I know I need to get it at some point...Especially since my Irish license has expired now.
Ah well...
Yeah, I know what you mean when it feels like you've been driving for ages, and it's only a few km. It's worse in the UK when it's in miles! It's especially terrible when you really need a break and the next gas station is 10 miles, and then you get there and there's road works, so you have to drive another 20 miles to get to the next one. I've driven with my head out the window before because I was so tired, it was the only way to keep going, haha. I don't miss that!
Next year sounds like a plan!
