What is the difference between pessimists and optimists?

It has long been known that pessimists live longer, that optimists are poorly informed pessimists, that the glass is half full, or empty...

But in everyday psychology there is a funny test for pessimism.

In the picture "Vase-profile" pessimists often look at black - on profiles, and optimists - on white, on a vase.

If you invert the colors, and change the object of attention.

In this case, attention is switched and those, and others, but more often fixed on something one.
