I loved this, from the opening fragment 'one foot in front of another'...leading me into your collection. I especially liked the cicadas.It evoked joy for me in the small moments.

Cicadas are such a part of summer in Japan, and for the past two summers, for whatever reason, it seems to me like they are appearing later and later in the season.

It’s one of those things that you can’t remember ever noticing before, but since I’ve started writing haiku, I’ve paid more attention to the seasonal changes, and since last year, it’s been a noise that I’ve found myself waiting for. Whereas in the past, it seemed like I was always just surrounded by it, until one day I wasn’t (for another season).

That's interesting., both about the cicadas coming later and you be being more int touch with the seasons since yous started writing them. Thanks for sharing.

Your haikus, my friend, like those of the old school, are subtle and achieve the wonder of awakening.

Yep, the dad bod sneaks up on you and once it’s taken over, it’s very hard to get rid of. I was doing pretty well until my third child was born. Then I succumbed. 🤣

I’m back again for now. Still pretty busy over here, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep up with the weekly posting or not.

Glad to hear you’re still alive and, apparently still kicking too. The last I remember, you seemed to be pretty ill. Then you suddenly stopped posting so I suspected the worse.

Welcome back.

I fell off my posting routine and have yet to get back on it. You know how it goes. I’m still writing daily poems though.

This was today’s:

I was also worried about you. So many lost along the way now.

Maybe it is the worst. Maybe it isn't. I've stopped focusing on it so much now and have joined the ranks of "I don't wanna talk about it".

I don't like this new world "we've" created very much! I remember how it was before the internet so can no believe this is the final outcome with all of our "progress". I would say "typical human nature" but that would be jaded and I'm not in the East. More's the pity right now ;)

Don't bother catching up on my words, words, words. Got censored in a way that makes writing and work online pointless. I'm busy trying to let go of the last vestiges of the money thing and really, really just the creativity to keep me sane in, now officially and call me crazy I'm used to it, a fucking insane fearful af new world.

Most of my words are nonsensical now for good reason :)

But on we go.

But my store was also mostly stolen in the hack and everything I created (almost) was stolen and / or vandalised. So won't bother with eComm again - probably but I am stubborn so we shall "see".
