THE THREE SECONDS RULE
Back in the days as I sat in a physics lecture the lecturer taught us a lesson. He asked a very simple question and we all shouted the answer which turned out to be wrong by current scientific standards. Then he said, “Class whenever you are questioned, take 3 second to think about it before you speak“. Exit the lecture hall and bring it into our world, ask most of us, could well do this .
What if you took three seconds to think about the insults you meted out to that person who stepped on your toe? What if you delayed your temper by 3 seconds, maybe a relationship could survive? What if in cheating on your partner, you thought about it for 3 seconds?
You see, you don’t need more than 3 seconds because it is long enough to help you make a better decision which the automatic you, won’t. I have been a beneficiary of this principle. Try it and give me your feedback. Just 3 seconds. Thanks for reading.
