I just downloaded the app. I was really confused how it ties into Steemit. Is it it's own thing or own site or is it a part of Steemit?

I noticed when I post to Steepshot it also shows up on my Steemit blog which I wasn't really expecting. I see what you mean about how if the app gets popular Steemit gets flooded with photos as opposed to video and blog type content.

I sort of expected it to be a related but seperate site or thing.

Hey @peter007, it's just another application built on the Steem blockchain (just like Steemit). But it also ties in with Steemit, meaning you can post on steepshot and it automatically posts on Steemit a well. Glad you got to test it out.

I saw your Steepshot post on your Steemit blog and decided to get started myself. I can easily see this replacing Instagram. I have to agree, Steemit seems to be way ahead of the social media curve, and it's so important to have a platform that's already up and running- just look at Bitcoin.

Would it be fair to compare Steemit's position in the social media blockchain market to Google's position in the search engine market?

Cool, I figured people would be wondering what I was up to lol. Tried to get the video out as soon as I could. I’m loving @steepshot though and will be using this for sure while I travel.

And yeah, I think they’ve got the market cornered. Facebook is considering an ICO from what I hear but I’m not sure how much people truly trust Facebook for decentralization due to their focus on pleasing advertisers.

I've got a distaste for Facebook and Twitter because of their censorship record. I dropped FB last summer after getting hacked and I'm mainly using Twitter for news and sharing my Steemit content. Converting my IG account to here is the next step for me.

Awesome, same here. I feel as an ambassador for the Steemit platform it's best for me to just stick with the interfaces popping up here. Besides, may as well earn a few tokens for my work. :)

I am currently playing around with it myself to do a review though I am waiting to give a full review after using it for a few weeks. I plan to do it in a few days. Though I won't be able to use the app to give the review since it limits how much you can put into the description.

That’s a great idea. And yeah, my girlfriend tested it out today and mentioned the limit for the description on the app. Otherwise, she’s excited to be using the app as she’s more of a Instagram user than blogger anyways.

I think that is the downside of it since it does show up on the steemit site. I think it could cause problems with spammy posts. But I do like the easy of use and it doesn't seem to be buggy.

That’s a good point. One thing I wish dtube, steepshot, and other interfaces would do is give you the choice of whether you wanted it to post to Steemit or not.

but also on the other side of the same token it is nice to be reward by the followers you already have on the platform

Thanks for this app review video I super tired of IG and the chronological issues. This my first time seeing Steem Tools and I can't wait to explore and see how i can create with the other apps to further communicate with the world. Also super happy as a new SteemIt user to see something that looks familiar for posting pictures.

I didn't know that because I had actually never posted on Steemit before. If you press enter, it WILL post your picture before your ready...which can be kinda awkward.

I ended up posting it twice. Hopefully, this comment can help keep someone else from making a newb mistake.

On another note...I vote you and your gf come to Thailand! I'm traveling here right now with my SO for a few months, and it's great! And warm. Also, several people on Steemit here in Chiang Mai. I'll be posting pics from here for a couple of months...so maybe if they're good enough, they'll sway you away from Iceland, for now.

Thanks for the review Brandon! I prersonally did not like Steep Shot that much, as I feel photo only content should mainly be hosted on a seperate platform that links to Steemit, but it's still a great tool for those who enjoy it.

I have enjoyed Steepshot a lot. it has made Steemit more image focused, and I like how it's integrated. Though I am hoping they put in the Markup language into the posts (as they reflect into Steemit, but not there) and that follows on Steemit/Steepshot will automatically reflect. It seems not all pictures/photos from your Steemit blog will work on Steepshot. I think it's a great service, slower than Instagram, but also good (with the Android app and all).
