Mini Basil Masacre!

I struck a little bit of fear into my basil plants today and had a mini basil harvest. There is still a boat load of basil left and I'm still planning of having a larger massacre of basil later this week. The basil now knows that their period of peace and freedom is at an end.

Tonight we turned the basil into some delicious grilled sandwiches. We had some fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, some nice mozzarella and a loaf of french bread. I didn't think my wife and I were going to have time to cook dinner together tonight and these quick little grilled cheese sandwiches made for an awesome dinner.

The sandwiches were delicious. Light and fresh. The smell of the fresh basil was intoxicating. We both had seconds they were so good.

I'm looking forward to getting to the real basil massacre. Today's practice run was delicious and now I have a renewed vigor towards the impending basil massacre.
