Durante miles de años se han presenciado un sinfín de tesis e hipótesis que nos han llevado a la misma conclusión: el final de todo. ¿La realidad? Aquí seguimos. Y con el tiempo que no deja de avanzar, lo que si parece quedarse enganchado en nuestras vidas es precisamente el desgaste de algo que no puedes ignorar pero tampoco tomar mucho en cuenta, ya que ante lo efímero que es nuestro existir parecería un total desperdicio de algo que ya no podrá volver a ti.

En algún punto todo debe, por así decirlo, llegar a una especie de sacudida que nos lleve a entender lo que realmente es importante para nuestra vida. Aunque gran parte de la sociedad hoy siga mirando hacia adelante no significa que lo hagan con esperanza alguna, y es bastante razonable ya que al fin y al cabo los aires que en nuestro presente soplan no traen buenas sensaciones. Lo más grave es que el colapso no viene con un agente externo nocivo, sino que es algo que de a poco se va desvaneciendo dentro de nosotros mismos. Muchas generaciones pasadas vislumbraban un futuro exclusivo e innovador, pero la realidad nos ha llevado incluso a añorar algo que en un punto determinado del pasado no supimos aprovechar. En términos de tecnología, quizás no estemos en guerra con las máquinas como muchas películas lo anunciaban, pero la tendencia nos arroja un presente aún más desalentador: depender más sobre lo que debería ser una herramienta fundamental para poder vivir en condiciones ideales.
Los fundamentos de una sociedad hoy son los que parecen transmitir un mensaje nada alentador. Lo que algunos aportan no llega a ser suficiente y mientras las expectativas crecen las acciones para darles vida carecen de peso. "Mientras los gigantes duermen, los grandes proyectos bostezan", y aquel guión de un mundo evolucionado se rasga ante nuestros propios ojos. Lo único razonable es el quiebre emocional que muchos padecen y al cual no parecen encontrarle un rastro favorable que conduzca a la mejor salida. Las buenas acciones y las mejores intenciones han cedido a ese fenómeno humano en el que solo ante casos aislados refugiamos el interés y la esperanza en que algún día las cosas van a cambiar. Ajeno a lo que cada quien pueda pensar, el panorama sigue un patrón que cada día no se vive sino que se padece.

The only reasonable explanation is the emotional breakdown many are suffering, for which they seem unable to find a glimmer of hope leading to a better way out. Good deeds and the best of intentions have given way to that human phenomenon in which, only in isolated cases, do we take refuge in the hope that one day things will change. Regardless of what anyone might think, the outlook follows a pattern that is not lived but endured day by day.

En ocasiones nos enfocamos tanto en el problema que olvidamos lo más importante y lo que sí está a nuestro alcance: el poder prepararnos para afrontar con éxito todo lo que el día a día nos trae. Siendo realistas, no tenemos los medios ni el poder para eliminar algo que ha existido casi que desde siempre, pero a nivel individual si depende netamente de nosotros el saber manejar nuestras acciones en dirección hacia lo que deseamos alcanzar. Aún si el mundo se viniera abajo, estaríamos en la capacidad de poder reaccionar de forma razonable y asimilar con el menor daño posible algo que cada día luce más latente. Más allá de cualquier estrategia y logística, está lo que como seres humanos podemos desarrollar en pro de nuestra existencia, y en el mejor de los escenarios poder dar un aporte positivo y significativo como el que muchos otros lograron plasmar en circunstancias duras y adversas.
La economía mundial, el equilibrio ambiental o la estabilidad de ciertas estructuras financieras son solo algunos escenarios en donde se respira un peligro sigiloso que sin mucho ruido puede caer de forma estrepitosa en cualquier momento. ¿Qué haría yo en tales casos? Quizás sea una pregunta que también sirve como filtro para saber qué tanto conocimiento se pueda tener en cuanto a la actualidad de estos temas, y cómo en el peor de todos los casos esto llegaría a afectarme. De hecho, ya es algo que en su proceso y formación nos ha dejado ciertas heridas antes de un mal que pudiera acentuarse con mucha más profundidad. Por eso, mientras todo pueda colapsar allá afuera, lo importante es no ceder en la esencia de lo que somos y de lo que somos capaces de hacer.
>Sometimes we focus so much on the problem that we forget what is most important and what is actually within our reach: the ability to prepare ourselves to successfully tackle whatever life throws at us. Realistically speaking, we do not have the means or the power to eliminate something that has existed almost since time immemorial, but on an individual level, it is entirely up to us to steer our actions towards what we wish to achieve. Even if the world were to come crashing down, we would still be able to react reasonably and come to terms with something that seems increasingly imminent, with as little damage as possible. Beyond any strategy or logistics, there is what we as human beings can develop for the sake of our existence, and in the best-case scenario, make a positive and meaningful contribution, just as many others have managed to do in difficult and adverse circumstances.
>The global economy, environmental balance and the stability of certain financial structures are just a few areas where a lurking danger hangs in the air, ready to come crashing down at any moment without much warning. What would I do in such situations? Perhaps this is a question that also serves as a litmus test to gauge how much we really know about the current state of these issues, and how, in the worst-case scenario, this might affect me. In fact, it is something that, in its development and formation, has already left us with certain wounds before a crisis that could become far more severe. That is why, whilst everything out there may collapse, the important thing is not to compromise on the essence of who we are and what we are capable of doing.
