Jake Tapper did a fact check for CNN and FactCheck.org about the claim of 17,000 criminals stopped at the Southern border. By sharing that the actual number is about 7,000- he inadvertently shares Trumps talking point that there are thousands of criminals crossing the Southern border- supporting the idea of Trump's wall. Sometimes a fact check ends up as pushing an agenda, which is exactly what happened here.
