There is so much going on in Steem that I've lost track of all the awesome projects and development people are working on.

I'm looking to follow and upvote projects/app/community

Please, in the comment below:

1- Tell me about your project (or a project you are involved in)
2- Why do you think it matters
3- How is your project contributing to increase the value of the steem blockchain

The most interesting project(s) might get an autovote and a follow from me.

>1- Tell me about your project (or a project you are involved in)

It's not my project but it's a project I'm involved in. The name of the project is @project-atlas.
The project is basically about steem and steemit promotions across different social media channels.
One of the major campaigns or the last campaign that was carried out recently was to make steemit and Steem to trend on twitter and it got a lot of support from fellow steemians too.

>2- Why do you think it matters

Well I think it matters because promoting steem and steemit should be an utmost priority of any steemian right now. I don't want to go into details, but I believe we all know why it is important to promote the platform. Very important.

>3- How is your project contributing to increase the value of the steem blockchain

Put simply, more promotions, more awareness and adoption; more adoption, more investors; more adoption and investors and it is a win-win situation for everybody and the platform.

And oh! We all want this platform to succeed. We want steem to stand out and we all want to be sure that our investments on steemit is secured.

Thank you and

Happy Steeming

I started an Live YouTube Show talking about Paragliding a few months back. Its called Paragliding Talk. I also created a website for it. Paraglidingtalk dot com.
Most of the pilots on the show have Youtube channels that they are trying to monetize. Youtube more than likely will never pay them a penny. But steemit will.

We have a fast growing community of paraglider pilots joining steemit as we speak. Super fun. We just aired episode #10.
I am blown away at the support for this show. We have had guests on the show I never thought I would have. No doubt these guys will benefit joining steemit as YouTube will just change the rules when they feel like it.

My idea is to in the medium term start to promote steemit in places that need it here in Venezuela, like a little school that is attached to a church here in my city and they provide free studies and housing to the kids, this place is called Don Bosco. The project has been in my mind for a few weeks but I have not started it yet.

I think it would be good for this people to start sharing their day to day activities here in steemit, the place is very pretty and I am sure the community will love to see how is the life in that institution. Depending on how the experience is with this place, I could start attending other similar places eventually, and teaching them how to use and promote their activities on steemit.

I have seen some posts with teachers promoting steemit to their students, and I believe an upgrade from this will be to involve the ACTUAL school activities and of course sharing them here so they can start to participate that way. I am sure people here will love seeing how are the day to day activities in some schools that need support.

As you might know, in Venezuela we have the worst economic crisis of our history, and I believe crypto can be literally a LIFE SAVER for my community. I have been 2 months on steemit and I see my live with a totally different perspective now. Thanks to steemit I am can see myself achieving important goals in my live, that would not be possible if it weren't thanks to crypto.

And because of this, I feel I have the responsibility of one way or another, toshare this knowledge so other people can also take this opportunity.

Thank you for your work helping steemit grow, I am also putting all my time here, trying to find success in steemit, and to help build positives communities , because in the end, if steemit succeeds or not, it would be because of its community. Its up to us if this place reaches its full potential or not. So I am putting my BEST in making this happen.

Cheers!

Another great way of showing your love for the community.

I happen to come from a part of my country Nigeria where education for the girl child has been neglected. The government schools aren't organised and functional. I'm still in the thinking and planning phase on how to raise funds that will be used in assisting the girl child to attain some sort of educational qualifications. Could be in entrepreneurial development for some, formal education for others and workshops for crypto awareness campaign especially steemit where one can blog and earn.

i'm currently undergoing a project called Steempreneurs, the project is aimed at developing and financing young entrepreneurs in my community through the steem blockchain, Currently we are having a campaign, creeating awareness of the power and ability the cteem blockchain gives. I believe entrepreneurship is the solution to our economic crisis here in Nigeria, and the most challenge is lack of funds to get business ideas started hence i came up with the Steempreneurship project aimed at introducing over 2million nigerians on the steem block chain.

ACTIONS

I created a facebook page and ive been running adds for the campaign and i just posted 1 of the results on my blog @fabianmani. you might want to check it out.

I'm curious, I know a few people who tried to start businesses in Nigeria and the #1 issue was that people just fleed with the money. I think a big part of economic development is trust(rightfully assume that the other party will fulfill their promise)...any ideas how to increase social trust in Nigeria?

@fabianmani | Feb. 5, 2018, 4:09 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Well, i agree with you that trust is one essential aspect of everything we do if we are to grow in what we do, just like anything else it comes down to working with integrity, for a start people will be skeptical due to the misuse of public trust but ti think with good deeds and evidence to back it, you will gradually win the trust of the people, all it takes is good leadership with integrity and im happy to work with my team because we are gradually winning the trust of the people.

Just 2days ago we visited the orphanage with the little we could come up with and i believe with people like you by our side we can do a whole lot of good

I and my partner @tolustx are presently organizing a steem meetup Abeokuta in Nigeria and a campus invasion in the State Polythecnic right here in the city of Abeokuta .

Our aim is to spread the word and let more people know about the steem blockchain in a bid to give back to the steemit community for the valuea we have gathered over the few months we have been here.

We are printing fliers and banners ,making steemit crested vests and caps in preparation for the the meetup and campus invasion. This project might not have a name right now but will very soon . Our intention is to reach every nook and cranny of Abeokuta until everyone hears and joins the steem blockchain.

We do not have any external support at the moment so we plan on using the little we can get from our post payouts to carry this project out ...so help us God!

@halfjew22 | Feb. 5, 2018, 5:30 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

@theguruasia, that is a really cool idea, and I think what you're doing takes the technology in the right direction.

I think the idea of proportionally and perpetually compensating developers for open source contributions to projects (similar to Utopian.io, but note the proportionally and perpetually as subtle key differences) is the future of software. Especially looking at EOS as decentralized operating systems, I've began pondering the possibility of new types of software licenses for open source projects that would allow for modification, but would mandate that certain "phone home" mechanisms remained in place throughout the utilization of the software in order to reward with original creators of the open source project in question (perhaps with Steem or some other token) perpetually for the contributions.

I've talked about a system that I believe would allow that system to be a possibility here and would love your feedback on the brainstorm. Here is one video and here is another that goes into a little more detail.

Cheers!

A project where I can play a role in helping the youth to recover from drug addiction help them in thr rehabilitation process because drug abuse is amongst the worst form of abuse we have in our society. This leads to serious consequences like murder rape robbery etc. The young ones just need to be shown a proper door whr they can channelise thr dreams and get support that they still be part of society and can contribute in society in various forms. I have seen by childhood friends suffer from these abuses, so for the cause wanna help few to get back on track

I began a Live YouTube Show looking at Paragliding a couple of months back. Its called Paragliding Talk. I additionally made a site for it. Paraglidingtalk website.

The vast majority of the pilots on the show have Youtube channels that they are endeavoring to adapt. Youtube more than likely will never pay them a penny. Be that as it may, steemit will.

We have a quickly developing group of paraglider pilots joining steemit at this very moment. Super fun. We simply publicized scene #10.

I am overwhelmed at the help for this show. We have had visitors on the show I never figured I would have. Almost certainly these folks will profit joining steemit as YouTube will simply change the standards when they feel like it.

Hi @cryptoctopus! This is an excellent initiative, it's great to see that you want to give back to the community.

I am currently starting a project that I am calling the "Steemit Success Initiative" - the aim of the project is to bring more people to Steemit, but to also make sure that they stay on as daily active users. With only 8% of Steemit Accounts (not taking in to account people with multiple accounts) being active every day, I feel that it is important to tackle both growing Steemit and maintaining a quality, active user base. This is how the project plans to do just that:

1) We run advertising campaigns for Steemit that are done professionally, to bring in more users.

2) We provide a guide for all Steemit beginners on How To succeed on Steemit (putting this together by talking to many successful Steemians about how they became successful).

3) Provide a manual curation service for 5-10 undervalued posts per day

4) Provide a bank of free graphics for all members of our incubator, and once a month give 1-2 Steemians access to a graphic designer for free. I already have a Graphic designer on board for this.

To give you some background, I work in ICO consulting, online course creation and now blogging. I am trying to move my efforts to full time on Steemit, and I want to help grow the community as much as possible. I will be announcing the project either tonight or tomorrow, and I am hoping to get it in to the trending section in order to get the attention of some big players on Steemit. Currently, I am looking for any support possible for the project!

I think that my project matters because it has been created to help people grow on Steemit. So many people join Steemit because they hear of how succesful some people are, but they give up to easily becasue nobody see their first few posts. My project will help people get seen if they are posting great content, and it will help grow the Steemit platform at the same time.

My project will increase the value of the STEEM blockchain in accordance with Metcalfe's law - the value of a platform grows with respect to the numbers of users squared. I am bringing in more users, and more daily active users, thus helping the platform grow in value. As well as that, I am making the platform more valuable because I am showing people how to get quality content noticed, thus creating a higher standard of quality for content.

Thanks for sharing, again it is great that you are looking to support the community.

>With only 8% of Steemit Accounts (not taking in to account people with multiple accounts) being active every day, I feel that it is important to tackle both growing Steemit and maintaining a quality, active user base.

I think this sounds like an awesome project, and I certainly don't want to claim that I'm an expert on Steem by any stretch of the imagination as I'm just getting started, but I think your initiative stems from pieces of the platform that simply don't work.

  1. Sounds like a great idea to grow the number of users on the platform
  2. In my opinion, the fact that there needs to be a guide as to how to succeed on the platform (perhaps this would be similar to @joeparys Udemy Steem 2.0 course) is evidence enough that simply posting quality content will not earn you financial compensation. I would imagine your guide would consist of similar things that his does, such as vote bots, delegation, etc. I'm not trying to be a downer on your initiative. I think if Steemit continues on the path that it's on, then these guides will be an absolute necessity as good content doesn't necessarily make you money right now. You have to jump through all these various hoops and things to be seem or invest somewhere in the area of ~$50,000 USD. In my opinion, that isn't a viable solution for maintaining quality on the platform, and that platform itself needs to evolve it's voting process. I've written about this in this post here. I would love to hear your feedback on that feedback.

  3. Again, the fact that groups (and yours wouldn't be the first) to curate content en masse is, what I believe to be, a consequence of a broken first order curation system built into the platform. I think the idea of Steemit is great, but please see my post linked above for more feedback.

  4. Seems really cool in general!!

I've upvoted your post and followed you and look forward to hearing more about your initiative. I think if we took this a different approach and re-evaluated the voting system on Steemit from the ground up - we'd be able to make a lot more progress in growing the value of the platform.

@lukebrn | Feb. 5, 2018, 6:08 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Thanks for the excellent comment! I disagree to be honest; these processes do work, and until they evolve, we need to teach people how they work. If the platform evolves, then I would adjust the premise of the project to fit the new premise. But before that happens, we need to teach users what is currently the done thing on Steemit.

  1. Yes there will be a similar guide in the coming weeks, but it will be text based to begin with.

  2. I read through your post and I think we simply have different viewpoints, but I appreciate the effort you put in to it and respect your viewpoint so I gave you an upvote!

Thank you again for the feedback! But growing the value of a platform can be done by trying to embody the ethos of metcalfe's law, which is exactly what my project aims to do!

>I disagree to be honest; these processes do work, and until they evolve, we need to teach people how they work.

I very much apologize if this comes across as bitter or resentful, and certainly don't intend for that to be the case. Rather, I'd just like to point out my feedback in an honest and open way so we can have the discussion about things I misunderstand and could potentially reevaluate in order to be more successful on the platform, which I would imagine is everyone's goal - to have the people dedicated most to quality become successful on the platform.

Now, that is making the (rather self confident) claim that I believe my content is quality. I would completely welcome the counter claim that it actually isn't if that's how you felt, but if you take a peek at my brief post and comment history, you will see that I take time to respond to people's comments and write thoughtful posts that are different than the rest of what is being posted.

Now, I've only been on for a couple of months, and only been posting actively for a few weeks, but the fact that the screenshot I posted exists and demonstrates that there is somehow a member of this platform that can post one meme that will make more than 4 times the reward than the combined total of all of my contributions have made in my time here that at the very least, something is fishy about the way things work.

Is one meme worth $250? I think any sane person would say no. I'd love to hear your response to that. In that way, I believe the voting and curation system is broken. I would love to be proven otherwise. That is to say that, if you feel my posts are quality, can you explain why they won't be seen? I personally feel that, if you post quality content, there should be a mechanism built into the system that allows your content to be seen without you having to jump through lots of secondary hoops and ladders. Do you feel that is a fair claim?

As far as your 2 goes, could you go into a little bit more detail about why you disagree? I don't mean to start any arguments but rather have some light shed on why you think what you think so I can diversify my own thoughts.

@lukebrn | Feb. 5, 2018, 6:39 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Firstly, don't worry I'm happy to just chat about this and would never start a fight over a difference of opinion! And I also do not want to spam the comments section of @cryptoctopus's post, so if you want to continue this conversation get back to me on Discord (@lukebrn#3369) - all I will say is that posting quality content is not enough to be soon, as quality can be delivered in a multitude of ways. You could make an arguement that actors shouldn't earn more than surgeons, but it's all about who likes the work you do and how much the public think it is worth. You should read "The Republic" by Plato, or look in to sociology some more, then you'll understand how something can be valued at crazy prices, even though it is not necessarily the best of its kind.

Fantastic!! Thanks for the reply. I've got a big pile of books building up that currently includes Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. I think those Greeks were on to something that we've, in general, lost out on.

Looking forward to continuing the conversation in Discord. Cheers man!

So, i have some projects in my mind:

The first one is to create a history log, while playing the game Crusader Kings 2, trying to elevate the House Steem to the biggest house on the history (in game).
Its a project that aims to draw in some gamers, specially those that like games that kind of works as a frame to create stories (another one like it would be The Sims, and Dwarf Fortress another famous one).
This can bring a lot of attention to steemit, and hopefully some new participants that could share some interesting stories of their fictional world.
Here is the beginning of the project

My second project is still on the paper, but it involves on creating a community similar to what @minnowsupport do, but aimed to help the Portuguese speaker community.

I started part of this project by writing guides for the Portuguese speaker users. Here is the latest part

That's a really cool idea!! Very creative to incorporate the gaming aspect to try gain more support for Steemit!

I've thought of a similar idea before for advertising my Android application whereby we pay for a set of Xbox live gamertags and allow the community to play whatever games they want with the gamertags so long as they bring in X number of Likes on the Facebook page or Follows on Twitter, etc.

It's a win-win for everyone! People don't have to pay for Xbox live gamertags and we get more social traction. Really cool idea you've got, thanks for sharing.

You might be interested in @asapers. It's my own project I decided to launch due to the generosity of @fulltimegeek. However, it was just announced and we haven't done any announcement posts on the @asapers account yet, so there's little info I can reveal about it at this time.

Instead of delegating my SP to other causes like minnowsupport or OCD etc. I decided to start my own project, where I've hand picked 6 others Steemians to be part of #asapers. The long term goal is to grow each team member along with Steemit as a community. In similar ways like minnowsupport and ocd, but this will be something unique as well.

1- Tell me about your project (or a project you are involved in)
ride sahring for London the drivers and passengers will own th ecompany with the coins they buy, 1,000 ERC20 tokens already been issued,

2- Why do you think it matters
Uber exploit the drivers with very low pay and long hours, some drivers in London are living in tents in the park, some live and workk in their toyota prius cars, they will have the chance to make more money as the new ride sharing service will not take 30% commission from the drivers

drivers will pay ZERO commission

3- How is your project contributing to increase the value of the steem blockchain

Steem Media Token will be used so that drivers and passengers can earn from commenting, blogging, upvoting stories, plan to hav epassengers book a rideshare on steemit " ride needed tuesday 14.00 heathrow terminal 5 to shoreditch please calll 0777 xxxxxx" drivers see th ecomment and phon epassenger direct and agree price in steem, bitcoin eth etc whatever using mobile app

BUILDING A WHALE IN UGANDA;

Am working on a youth Initiative programme in my country where all the people involved in steemit are involved. In this programme we shall select one of the many steemit users in the country and delegate steem to him from all the steemit users around the country. This will make him a whale, the first we shall have in Uganda.

Requirements for getting nominated;
The user to be selected should have a rating above 65, active in posting with a minimum number of posts we shall be setting.
These posts should have got him genuine upvotes, getting him to become the highest earner by the end of this year.

This initiative matters because we need to attract huge numbers of people that love writing and are not doing well financially. This would encourage them to keep posting good content and earning which in the process would transform their lives from poverty.

Many users from Uganda will increase the power of steem. Lots of steem cryptocurrency exchanges will be going on on the steem blockchain. Hence improving the value of steem, meaning users will get to earn more from the upvotes they get on their posts.

Steemit.com is a new project I am following. I love the idea of a community where members can help other members. I intend to buy Steem weekly and contribute all I can. I m a older retiree and was looking for something to excercise my mind by doing some writing again. Matter of fact the reason I am reading your post is because its about helping others. It's not always about ME and I learned a long time ago when I put people first I am successful in many ways. I love it here so far after my first week and I am also looking for new ventures or ways I can help folks. I will follow this thread closely. Love your attitude.

Hello @Cryptoctopus
I am working on "The Big Movie Chain".
It is a low resource movie distribution platform where users and creators are incentivized using Steem Economics and perhaps a smart media token.

[IMAGE: https://steemitimages.com/256x512/https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2015/12/09/17/12/popcorn-1085072__340.jpg]

Movie Chain solves the following problems:
1. Streaming Video requires costly bandwidth for users and distributors
2. The Film Community is unsustainable without tightly integrated distribution platform.
3. Feature Film and Documentary Creators Should have the ability to showcase their works in the best and easy to use formats possible for the viewer.

Solution:
Adapt Popcorn Time Streaming Torrent Interface to incorporate Steem tokens and blockchain data

Adapt Torrents seeding to known IPFS nodes to encourage proper / legal content curation within defined params

More in depth posts on the matter: intro, distribution

Currently there is no project account. With yours and other Steem Community Power backing, a project account would be started, along with a github and Utopian IO integration. With Steemit Inc backing this project could be made into a whitelabel smart media token service.

Since joining Steemit community in October 2017, steemit community building has been top priority for me, i live in the city of Uyo here in Nigeria, at the time of joining up steemit there was just less than 10 active steemit user from the uyo community, from that time with the effort these persons such as @samstickkz, @evelyniroh @samuelwealth just to mention a few, have taken the uyo community to over 200 active users, i am glad i have been part of this.
Now as a result of this work done i have been getting calls from people from places outside the uyo community in Nigeria to help them on how to succeed on steemit, i have been teaching them and recently created a group called the "Elite Steemians" , the aim of this group is to help steemians outside the steemit uyo community succeed on the platform through mentorship, the group currently have about 39 members and we look to raise funds that will enable us rent delegated steem power for our community account.
Below is a screenshot of the information of the group on whatsapp

Greetings from me for you @cryptoctopus,

This is a very good post and I will answer some of the projetc we developed in the community with our community Nanggroe Steemit Community (NSC), one of our programs One Home One Account which is planning to help new steemians use at least the least one steemit account in one family.

Why is that important, as the development of blockchain technology, we are must also grow as human, with the project at least can increase the least economy in a family with revenue results in steemit riwards.

The project we are developing is autovote by providing community-specific bots on discord which will automatically be upvote by our bot, all accounts belonging to our community, it's done within 24 hours of one post article. well with the community then we automatically increase the value of steem, in addition we also provide a website tools steemit that is, Mainsteem.com, and you can see it there.there is many value from donation coming for SP, this is big deal for growing upvote value, thats all what I mean rihgt here anything can be happen

this is my comment for your concern, wish you satisfied about this one.

I am involved in a tag recently started by @markrmorrisjr called #DolphinSchool. We are about halfway through the first 10 day bootcamp. The purpose is to help build and grow Plankton and Minnows into Dolphins and potential Whales by teaching them the basics of how to use the platform.

This initiative is building a part of the community up right now and is focused on retaining and engaging newer users. The lessons being taught are definitely building some high quality skills for content creators! The course is free other than the time and effort that goes into the bootcamp assignments. The response has been pretty amazing.

I really believe this initiative matters to the community because it is helping cultivate it from the ground up! If you @cryptoctopus are interesting in checking it out here is a link to the original post getting things started.

I hope you consider giving this project a look as well as your support! I have a feeling it's only going to get bigger! I am fortunate enough to be in the first class of #DolphinSchool BootCamp! Everyone, is invited to check it out and participate at will!

Thank You

Hi there! Tagging as a fellow #bootcamper to say that this has been an incredible project thus far. I came to steemit a week ago as an artist hoping to find a platform to share my content and writing with a creative community. I’ve been blown away by the people I’ve discovered and the community I’m building.

My first day on steemit I stumbled across @markmorrisjr’s #DolphinSchool Bootcamp and I signed up. I’ve met so many folks and engaged so much with the platform because of this. Mark is an incredible mentor--he takes time every single day to personally respond to each of 20 budding authors and content generators.

And the content has been amazing...from beautiful photography, great humor, potent short stories, to feminist irony...you name it, we’ve got it. As an emerging voice on the platform I’ve been looking all week for similar projects--opportunities to amplify your voice on the platform within a community that don’t require a lot of Steem (or any really, I’m new and have none!). There’s not a lot of really legitimate opportunities. Mark has created one.

His dream is to keep it going. My dream is for him to keep it going. I’d love to see this network spread. It’s been an invaluable experience that has set the tone for my time on steemit. Check it out y’all!

That's a great idea @journeyoflife! I believe I have what is the beginnings of an idea that will help all poor people around the world earn an honest living through the, as yet, untapped power of the Blockchain.

I would love to hear your feedback on my idea as I think your goals are truly noble and they align with mine. I truly think we can make the world a better place. One in which you won't have to discretely put forth the effort to bring rice and wheat to your community in Pakistan, but one where, by the good graces of their actions, they could earn a living wage there (or anywhere for that matter) and we could at the same time promote positive human universal values such as honesty, hard work, community, and kindness!!

I would truly appreciate if you could check out my post here, as our interests certainly align, and I think we can do much, much more than rice and wheat. Your efforts in the short term will certainly be more noticeable, but I think that if we apply the technology in a truly creative and innovative way, then we can bring lasting change to societies world wide.

Here is the link to my comment on this post that explains the idea a little more, and in it there are more links to videos I've made and other posts. Thank you so much in advance if you find the time to provide me some of your feedback. It would be a pleasure to get to work with you and many others on this truly noble cause.

I agree with you, I Would love to do that. A few years ago we did something very similar to that in Egypt. we feed about 146 families in a small village and it was very pleasant. I think everyone should contribute and it does not have to be money but even with ideaes to help the poor or a simble prayer as well can go a long the way.

I Need To Start A project!

Project will be working on daily bases on weekly base for that we need a discord server or any other group some members who will help upvote on a post which will be only for helping needy people and the money it makes will be distributed along with a video proof in hospitals here . As here people die with small operation that they dont have any money for it even they dont have 10 dollars for a treatment i wish if we start a very real help along with a video proof i will provide when they help is distributed over then needy people and we will make them smile i will be really happy. its my dream of life

Most minnows get discouraged by their experience on this platform by their first two weeks payout. This makes them want to withdraw.

Some do not know how to go about activities on the steemit platform. Thus, I am offering a 5SBD give away to minnows to mark my 30 days on this platform.

The rules were crafted in a way that it will prompt minnows to interact and socialize with other users of this platform to solicit for supports. 7 Minnows stand a chance to benefit from the give away.

This will encourage activities on this platform and give minnows reasons to remain devoted to the community who may in future become great influencers on the steem blockchain.

Check the response to this give away via the link below. The post was promoted too. Remember I am a minnow too. Just 30 days too on this platform.

I'm from Nigeria, a country with a very high rate of unemployment and poverty, Steem has been very helpul to me and I have been able to make a living here. As a result of the rate of unemployment, I and some other steemians, @michaelcj, @casweeney @jacobite came up with a programme called STEEM CAMP 2018. This initiative will be used to promote and introduce the Steem Blockchain to the youths in my country through entertainment.

Our activities includes:
Pageant Show
Talent Quest and
Award Show.

There are so many Talented people roaming the street and there are so many Beauty queens that have ideas on how to change their community for good but they lack funds. Bringing them to the Steem Blockchain will not just change their lives, it will help them to achieve their goals.

The award show is a medium to recognize and award the people that contributed to the success of this project.

In conclusion, STEEM CAMP 2018 will discover these talented people, introduce them to the Steem blockchain, groom them in their various skills, then they can start contributing to the Blockchain with their various skills and talents, change their standard their of living for good and also help their individual communities.
We intend to carry out seminars/auditions in 6 different states in Nigeria, while the Camp will commence in June, 2018.

Major publicity will be starting this month to create awareness for the event, check this out

Rather than designating my SP to different causes like minnowsupport or OCD and so forth. I chose to begin my own venture, where I've hand picked 6 others Steemians to be a piece of #asapers. The long haul objective is to develop each colleague alongside Steemit as a group. In comparative ways like minnowsupport and ocd, yet this will be something one of a kind also.

This post comes in at the perfect timing, since I have just posted an update about my project anyways!

  1. My project ist the account @welcoming - An account dedicated to find promising introduction posts of new users and upvoting + resteeming them. I have been doing this for over 2 months now, as you can see in todays update: 65 days of @welcoming - Including a analysis of first 50 Resteems!

  2. I think my project matters, since the tag #introduceyourself is spammed a lot and therefore many people don't dare to look at new introductions anymore. I offer thos people the option to just look at @welcoming's blog in order to only see manually curated introduction posts without having to dig through tons of spam. So people who otherwise would not look into intros at all, now have the option to do so.

  3. The value of a social blockchain like STEEM is of course also depending on the number of people using the platform. By sharing promising new users, I give them the opportunity to connect with subcommunities easier (since they are easier found by people with similar interests) and therefore growing those. Stronger Communities --> A stronger network effect in favor of the STEEM blockchain.

This has been running for over two months now and there has not been a single day without manually curated resteems! (The total number of resteems is way over 500!)

You could either help me by upvoting the update to gain more visibilty or, even better, you could autofollow @welcoming's vote with 1% or so and therefore help all the new users I support!

Greets,
@theaustrianguy aka Martin

I have a really good idea to start a project around daily motivation and inspiring people, to take a step into making their lives better and filled with peace, basically to start investing smart time into themselves and the purpose of the posts will be to make a kick in their asses hhahaahhaha in a way to get the fire and courage they need to start working towards their dreams, and also a slight amount of manual/posts that will help them do that!!!!

I want to help people discover this platform because I don't think people here know about this.
I've made a few people join this but I want to do that on a larger scale.

There is my project. I am willing to go tru my list of contacts and bring them to Steemit.com
All of them are bloggers, filmmakers, activists or similar. I have a list of more than 1000 that kind of people which have more than million followers all together.
It's not spam I know personally 100 of them, via business 300 and rest I didn't meet in person but I have contacted them in some of my previous projects.
I'm disappointed that noone cares about that so this opportunity is welcomed.

Great initiative

Hey man, so I actually have an idea for a project that I have been trying to get started for quite a while. I want to do some promotional photos and videos for Steemit. I've tried to look up promotional things for Steemit and they are kinda.... awful. I've been trying to get it started but I basically just need to hire models. If you are interested let me know and we can chat about it on discord or something. I'd love to tell you what I am thinking and try to get this project off the ground! Upvoted for visibility.

Hi Cryptoctopus!

We'd love some help with @thefreshfive!
It's a service that we've been running to help brand new Steem users by upvoting their introduction posts, and featuring them in our daily freshfive post. We help them get a little exposure and answer any questions they have. Everything we're doing with the account is to help retain great users on the platform...

If people come and then leave straight away because they feel ignored, then that's bad for all of us.

If you could help support @thefreshfive that'd be amazing, we'll use that support to help new users and engage them in competitions to help kick start their accounts!

Thanks so much!

Soo Great to have posts like yours. My future project involves charity for animals. As of now I’m building the base to get at least 1000 followers, I understand by having at least this much followers the message should get to at least 1/10 which should be anough to jumpstart this project. I also need to strengthen my Steem power to motivate steemiens and to be able to reward whoever gives the proof of donating to any animal charity. This is my future project since I’m an animal lover.

I spent almost 3 months at Egbin power station in Ijede, Ikorodu Lagos. Meeting with Top engineers in the country and constructing theories to achieve the theory. Once we are done, we'll meet with government and other agencies.

We are taking electricity to the dark places of Africa. This is our paramount goal

I have an on going project which aims at eradicating poverty in my vicinity here in Nigeria. I'm also using steemit platform to do this by introducing young people who can use the internet to steemit. For the ones that don't know how to use the internet or don't have a device to access the internet, I'm using part of the little I get from steemit to assist them.
Just two days ago, I supported a friend to go and celebrate her birthday with the children at the FCT school for the blind in Abuja, Nigeria

At the moment, I run @onequality which is a community account for the Nigerian community. We try to curate content created by Nigerians and do a lot more like organise contests and physical meet ups.

Basically we keep Nigerians on Steem and work to increase the adoption of Steem in Nigeria. We are also working on making it bigger! We believe Nigeria has the numbers and all we have to do is let them know about Steem.

Good morning @cryptooctopus and thank you for this awesome opportunity to share our ideas.

1- Details about my project

I'm going to use the blockchain to create a new incentive system to making positive impacts on society. Whether it be cleaning up your local community, helping a homeless person, or having a constructive conversation with someone with which you disagree on an important issue, I think we can use the blockchain to help incentivize a more positive social fabric.

I've created a Dtube video here that explains the idea in more detail.

Here is the idea summarized in a brainstormy fashion on Steemit.

Here is a transcribed speech from Brock Pierce about becoming a crypto billionaire that is very inspiring and that my idea aims to do.

2- Why do I think my project matters

In order to explain why I think my idea matters, I'm going to borrow excerpts from my previous posts on the topic and will ink them below.

>One large problem in existence today as a result of our current system would be the fact that the system benefits those in a most general sense that have found ways to take advantage of it, and that leaves multitudes of people with barely enough money for food on a global scale.

With the advent of blockchain based decentralization of value and power structures, we for the first time in human civilization have a way of truly bringing power to the every day person. I feel I have in the works an idea that not only would actually bring them that power, but would also solve many other issues that I won't get into here for the sake of brevity, but would love to discuss them with you. Some of the positive social consequences I imagine can be found in my posts from my blog, but admittedly, I haven't done a great job keeping them organized, and so they're more of a brain dump than an organized set of ideas.

I think the brilliance of the idea is that it uses capitalistic ideologies along with decentralization of power through blockchain technology to let societies themselves determine what is valuable to a prosperous and positively oriented society. I realize there are many challenges and issues that need to be carefully considered, but so far, I am yet to run across one that I think "breaks" the solvency of the idea.

3- How is my project contributing to an increase in the value of the Steem blockchain

I'm still very much in the brainstorming phase, but if the Steem blockchain fit the usecase I am going for, then the following would result in an improved value for the Steem blockchain:

1) Positive press surrounding a peaceful encouragement of a reorientation of values in society
2) Continued large scale adoption of the technology for the "layman" - increased adoption === increased value
3) Value, in my opinion, is such an abstract concept. What do you find valuable? How many dollars would you pay me for a Steem token right now? How about 13 days ago? Have those numbers changed? Why? Do you still feel Steem is as valuable as it was 13 days ago? I'm sure you do, as I do as well. However, value is such an abstract concept that gets easily conflated when we abstract it so many times. I won't get into that too much here, but I will say that there is a great chapter in Howard Bloom's "Genius of the Beast" that talks about how we've stacked so many symbols on top of value that it's all but lost its meaning.

I say this, because to me, value is something that lasts. Value is a positive impression you make on your loved ones, family, friends, and community that they remember for a long, long time, and ideally pass on to their loved ones, friends, and family. We have a potential to make a real change and to add what is, in my opinion, real value as a result of our creativity and innovation with the beautiful technology with which we've been fortunate enough to live in the same time as its creation. So, the third and final value add that I will propose for the Steem blockchain, or simply Blockchain technology in general, is that we can add human value back to economics not as an afterthought, but as the primary motivating factor for doing what we do. When a majority of people wake up in the morning, if they were to ask themselves today, "What positive impact am I making on the lives of many around me as a result of my work?" - I would imagine the chances that many would be able to say they are making a positive impact at all on people outside of their corporation would be low. We can, and I believe must, change that for society to continue to improve, innovate, and increase peace.

Thank you for reading and it would both be a pleasure and an honor to have a discussion with you, @cryptoctopus regarding more details of my idea and to get your most constructive feedback.

Planning literally this week to launch new project on Steemit/Dtube platform regarding "self-development" & finding your path. 🤔

There are tons of channels, people and information regarding that, but I'm not interested in teaching people how and what to do but instead im interested in documenting how I am doing it and through that inspiring other people to take action.💥

Right now I am at the point in life where things got too comfortable and I haven't done anything radically new in long time and I feel like a lot of people are in similar position in their life where days look similar, they have moments of inspiration but then everything returns to routine.

So through blogs and documentation of my journey I have vision to build movement/community of people that take their life to next level (sounds kind of cliche, but for now didn't find better words) 😅

Thanks for this post, by reading few comments got more ideas myself of what to do👊

Hello @cryptoctopus
This is a great opportunity to make my project known to the world.
I have been building a growing community (@credo kommunity) on the steem blockchain, our main focus is to promote steemit offline, create more awareness of steemit, sign up new users both bloggers and investors.

With this we will be able to bring more people into steemit and also bring more investors to buy steem and power up. This will have a positive effect on steem price as the demand for steem will increase and price will raise.

Beyond just bringing the newbies on board , we mentor them to ensure they are doing the right thing and we go out to look for support to their quality content. This will ensure we don't just sign people up on steemit but to engage them and make them remain active on steemit.

Last week we promoted steemit in a University and over 100 accounts were signed up during the campaign. We also have several other campaigns in line.

Here is the introductory post to the project; chick here
Here is the link to the last campaign;Click here

I have an idea about building an open source library both offline and online. The aim is to enhance the rate of literacy and to support education for children beside what they get from school.

In my hometown, Aceh, is among the lowet rate of literacy in Indonesia. There are public library but children not interested to go there because the books are old, not good quality, limited, etc.

There is one national bookshop branch in my hometown since december last year. It's really agood thing. Unfortunately the price is not cheap. Poor children don't have an acces there. So I think I must run a library to solve this problem. It may be can help my hometown which is among the lowest rank in education rate in Indonesia.

Hey @Cryptoctopus

Well initially I dont have materialized the project, but as new in this steemit community I have seen how important this could help the animals on the streets, especially cats and dogs.

My family has been feeding homeless animals for many years but the current situation in the country (venezuela) has made it a bit difficult; even so it has continued.

I am thinking with my partner how to help these animals. I hope to create it and get your support.

Have a good day.

Thanks @cryptoctopus for creating this initiative! Here's my project:

[IMAGE: https://steemitimages.com/DQmexmBbHbgabHYk7PqVugHEeoReKhX14KCpJKCw29S88Vc/Gazebo002_crop.jpg]

(1.) I'm an artist/designer who has started a project to reimagine the potential of the gazebo (and other overused architectural forms) as sculptural public art installations. I've been proposing various redesigns of the typical gazebo in order to bring it back to the forefront of the public space and create a new kind of gathering space in public parks.
(2.) I think this project is important because these wild and wacky designs encourage people to pause in the middle of their busy day and interact with the outside world. These gazebos are designed to bring the community together and stimulate conversation, while also providing a place for relaxation and wonder.
(3.) My goal is to raise enough Steem to actually build some of these structures in the physical world. By installing these eye-catching gazebos in public parks, I could hopefully raise awareness to the power of Steem as a platform to fund and collaborate on art and design projects. I believe Steemit is going to revolutionize the way the public discusses and funds projects that get installed in their community.

Thanks for your consideration!

I've recently started both @steemfreelancers and @thesteemhouse!

The Steem Freelancer's Guild is a way for freelancers of all kinds to come together under an umbrella of support through community partnerships and collective marketing. Even at just a month old, we are creating value to the blockchain by allowing freelancers to advance their careers, and providing steemians and community projects professional services in exchange for STEEM and SBD!

The Steem House is a local project I've started to get my local community involved with Steemit. It will begin as a hub for onboarding new people, and quickly evolve into what's known as a makerspace! I plan to bring big things to the blockchain from my hometown in the heart of Kentucky!

Hello mate! First of all a big thanks for all you've doing for the Steemit Community.

I'm going to start off talking a bit about my Nationality and the Country I live; I'm Venezuelan and still live in Venezuela. As you may know our country is currently having a difficult time; We are facing our worst economic crisis, there's nothing to buy using regular channels -Supermarkets, BakeShops, Drugstores, etc- The easiest way to get supplies is by buying on the black market and the prices there are unpayable for most people. This year is projected to be our worst in all possible aspects, our society is degrading by the day; Just today, I found out that people are kidnapping kids in order to sell their vital organs (3 today) We're going to end up eating each other if the don't do nothing about it. That's why, bad things aside, want to talk to you about the things I have in mind.

If you fully check out my blog, you'll understand what kind of person you're talking with. I'm a 34 year old young soul whose life has been changed completely thanks to Steemit; I'm a steady believer of this project and I'm aware how game changer might be, especially in countries that are enduring hard times such as Venezuela. That's why some Steemian Friends and my persona decided to start up a project destined to connect to people using a direct approach.

@steemitacademy will be a place where all Venezuelans will be welcome with open arms and heart! The main issue we are facing in our society is the lack of education we are receiving, we are just listening to the mainstream media and we don't fully take advantage of all the informational tools we have at hand! In this era of information we're still delayed and hence it's imperative to teach people and open their minds in order to show them how diverse the world can be and how projects like Steemit can help most people in need; It's not about giving away, it's about teaching people how to get the fish.

https://i.pinimg.com/564x/23/f3/08/23f308fd6f05519521aefedee159215e--fishing-sayings-funny-fish.jpgFuente | Source

That is the main premise @steemitacademy will be working on! Endless Education!

Steemit Academy Goals

  • To Promote Steemit by Getting in New Venezuelan Users to Steemit
  • To Teach Venezuelan's Minnows about the Steemit Plattform.
  • To incentivate each Venezuelan to show their craft on Steemit.
  • To make future Dolphins
  • To Teach those new Dolphins about power delegation and how important teamwork is.
  • To delegate and unite our power to @steemitacademy in order to fund our own projects and to help communities by doing charity, improving our infrastructure, creating our own working zones, etc..
  • To incentivate Venezuelan's Steemians to teach what they know, and use @steemitacademy to cover the expenses, creating more jobs.
  • To educate people about crypto and economics.
  • To create a culture where we can use Steem or SBD as a way of payment, and even for saving.

Among others...

It is important to remark each goal and how fulfilling them might help us to grow as a society; Steemit, well used can be a life changer - We are the living proof- Right now we currently have approximately around 6500 Venezuelan Steemit Accounts.

https://i.imgur.com/AaJoIFB.pngFuente | Source

As you can see, the graphic shows a big increase of newcomers in January; I expect a big increase of Venezuelan users on the upcoming months. Due the big crisis we're facing, steemit perfectly fits as an alternative.

Steemit is not that hard to sell in here, most likely because you see immediate results, you see 1 Sbd (3.00 usd) is almost a month of salary; 3 of my upvotes at 100% might make the difference and give a person 1 month of salary! That's why I'm constantly powering up and not self-voting.

So, What do we have to do after recruiting or finding these new steemians? We need to teach them, we need to tell them how to properly use the plattform, most people get lost when they get in and without proper guidance most of them get frustrated and quit, or opt by doing other stuff like trying to trick the site. We need to create a Steemit conscience where we can enlight people to correctly use the site and to show them how working in good faith and with enthusiasm, things can perfectly work out.

After that process we need to help them to estimulate their own craft by getting them to post about the things they know, using proper tags in order to get clean upvotes. To teach them how Engaging with communities can be a very effective way to get quality followers; How good and quality comments can make a difference, help you gain followers and even some nice upvotes.

All of this in order to make them Dolphins. If Three 0.35$ Upvotes can give a Venezuelan a Month of salary, imagine what a difference could make Twenty 0.35 Upvotes for example, do you all realize how of a game changer Steemit can be, well used? Now if we teach our New Dolphins how the power delegation System works and we incentivate them to delegate some to @steemitacademy, then we probably can dream bigger, because by creating our own whale, organically, we would be opening a door with infinite positive outcomes; Giving us the chance to fund our own projects, do charity, and generating income and future jobs.

Imagine this situation for Example: I know how to Speak and teach English. I could prepare live lessons to people in @steemitacademy, I could use the academy for those purposes, Record my class or take pictures and make a post which it'll be curated by @steemitacademy that way I'm helping the community by teaching "for free"and the academy cover the expenses with just a single upvote; wouldn't that be just awesome? Look at the whole picture, people educating worldwide, having a well paid job doing what you love and helping the community at the same time, like I said steemit, properly used might be a world changer.

The growing of steemit is our responsibility, we have a duty and we are on a mission which is to spread the world the best we're able but not only that, we need to guide new Steemians after they get in, that is the most important task because Steemit is not so difficult to sell yet hard to understand for many.

In order to Achieve these goals, I'll need funding, I've received some donations for the Charity work I've been doing -https://steemit.com/dtube/@jonsnow1983/5uwep6qg- and pretty soon will be introducing in a formaler way the @steemitacademy project in order to get donations and delegations so we can achieve our goals.

Best Regards Bro! Cheers!

This is very interesting, @jonsnow1983, and I appreciate the work you're putting in to it. One of the first things I noticed when I introduced myself on here and started to see the other introduction posts was the disproportionate number of Venezuelas who have been joining up. I hope Steemit is able to give them a liberating platform to help turn around the problems facing the country right now!

Excellent brother, I'll follow the steps of this project (to learn and contribute whit whatever I can). If just 5% of those 6,500 Venezuelans accounts get together and collaborate we can create a project able to literally save lifes. We Venezuelans know how people here is dying because they don't have the means to even buy basic medicines, everything a Venezuelan can make on this platform, as tiny as it may appear for an outsider (like 3$) can change your life here.

I've had an idea in mind for a while but honestly am a struggling law school student with no time or money to set it into motion quite yet. I want to create 50 cryptocurrencies. One for each state. To be used within each state as a means of helping small businesses and keeping economies local. When you use an AlabamaCoin, you can be sure the value you are transferring will be used in the future for other small businesses and not large corporations.
I think it matters because it is a very practical application of the cryptocurrency premise. If it works it could do a lot of good for making alt coins more mainstream, showing consumers what they can do. Consequently, this could draw users into the steem community as well and increase the value of its blockchain.

Hello @cryptoctopus,

Thanks for actually inviting us to share with you our ideas. (Not the least of which is that as I get to scroll the list, I know I'm going to find some folks I really want to watch!)

The project (contribution) I'm working on is the offering up of daily (or near daily) invitations to engage in intentional prayer practices (imaginative, contemplative, whimsical, poetic, sometimes irreverant as the spirit moves me to create). In "real life" I'm a pastor... prayer is one of those things that seems to not only be good for the individual praying, but also for the community in which they engage with it (the "we"). The prayers are offered up and then the invitation is made for people to use the comments as a shared prayer journal to respond or ask or engage as they see fit... adding their insights to the public offering which only increases the value of what was first offered up for any who might come in later. (And with blockchain, it can be there for a VERY LONG time, available to folks... that thought only just now crossed my mind... hmmm even more exciting to think about, but I digress)

Why I think this matters:
When I was exploring Steemit, prior to joining about a week ago, what took me in was the idea that with the way this particular blockchain works, It is about "we" together building something of value with the best characteristics of the benefits that altruism, charity, and even grace (I do tend to think in theological categories... not trying to preach, but it is who I am :) ) embedded into how this blockchain can work. People make their contributions into the public sphere and the public rewards their efforts for doing so as each agent acts upon their concept of value. My initial take (subject to revising and refining as I learn and interact within this community) on what creates the "value" of STEEM is the impact the community has upon one another and their willingness to cooperate in doing things FOR one another. As people encourage, connect, and reward others for creating, informing, and "stewarding" the wellbeing of the community and Steem itself, the value of STEEM as a store of "resource, time, and effort" or to say it another way "value" is supported and cemented for us all.

Prayer at least for some is a foundation that helps them be grounded in the acts of creating, encouraging, and stewarding.

To invite people into prayer is to assist them in shaping a character that takes on the best aspects of what it seems Steem has built within it's structure.

Related, but almost upon the flip side of this same idea. After only these first few days, I can see the importance of doing what I can to aid in this "character shaping" I think prayer can do this amongst those open to exploring it.

I've seen a great amount of discontent as people throw around words of "greed," "raping the reward pool," class distinctions of "plankton, minnow, whale" but more alarming is how these are too often tied to envy more than a recognition of contribution. I think prayer practices can help create places of reflection that may go a long way to building up the community which again is a strengthening thing for Steem as I understand it.

Does this contribute value?
To me absolutely. To those who are beginning to find their way into these offerings all signs would point to "yes." As I have begun cross posting to my Facebook account, others with whom I do currently or have interacted with across almost 18 years of ministry are being exposed to Steemit... and I can guarantee most of these folks have never heard of Cryptocurrencies, but they know and trust in the power of community.

Further more, people who are grounded in something bigger than themselves tend to be able to navigate stresses, volatility, and a lot of the other forces that run ripshod through the "crypto-verse." If I can do even a small part in helping calm minds, calm hearts, help people to reflect and think, help people to trust and be open, help people to take interest in one another and the wellbeing of the whole, well then I think at that point I'm being at least a servant to the group and for me that's a big part of why I'm here offering what I can. It's what I can do, so I do it.

I have no idea if you will ultimately decide something of this nature, with my emphasis on trying to help members of the Steem community be attentive to their hopes, desires, longings, aspirations and even failings merits an upvote or a follow, but I have been finding great joy within it so I'll be doing it regardless...

but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that It sure would be terrific if you decided something like this had merit within your work of building a stronger / better community and blockchain!

Peace to you and take care.

I am planning to start a project for minnows, especially who have 50 SP or less, here is my plan!

Write a shout out post every week where I will be watching some small accounts, seeing what they are doing and if they are consistent. There will be other parameters too but I want to make this comment as short as possible. So let's suppose I find a Steemian who meets the criteria, I will be posting a shout out post for that person every week. I will give him 5 SBD from my account and all the rewards from that post would be given to that person. I will not only give him/her the monetary reward but would be coaching him/her how he/she can grow her account using different money making machines like DTube, Utopian, Dlive etc. Once he/she grows his/her account, she would be doing the same thing for other minnows and this would be like a chain. I am in touch with Stella and will present her this idea and hopefully, I will get her support too. If, by any chance, I don't get any support, I will start this project and will pay the rewards from my own pocket, a concept just like a gift economy!

Infact, I am writing a post on gift economy and will post it today where I will be explaining my project as well.

I am all for supporting people whichever way we can to make a difference! I personally do not have any specific projects in mind for the future bu at the moment I am working on getting my weekly "Photo Fun Contests" promoted and to increase the following. People seem to be enjoying the "out of the box" topics and it makes me happy to see they are enjoying themselves! its not all about money, we need to have fun too! thanks again @crytoctopus for the support you constantly show the community.

Thanks @cryptoctopus for this opportunity to show you our great project;

Credo Kommunity

We are a non profit community on steemit. Its a group of people with an agenda to promote steemit to both potential steemians and investors in every city all over the world. Bringing these investors and steemians into one platform, promote and rewarding quality and original content of our member.

As a non profitable community, we have powered up all our earnings so far so as to have more SP to support content from our members.

Vision

Our vision is to build an enabling environment for individuals to join and grow on the steemit blockchain.

Mission

Our mission is to promote Steemit, register newbies, get investors and support members quality and original content on steemit blockchain while investors get returns for their investment.

How We Operate

  • Organizing Meet-ups, Seminars,Outreaches and Other Promotional Activities this is to creat more awareness for steemit and bring in potential steemians and investors.

  • Recruiting Newbies and Investors from our targeted steemit awareness campaigns.

  • Mentor Newbies on quality and original content on steemit.

  • Support Members until they are good to go on the steem blogchain, we also aid them to join other communities that support their works.

Why @credo community matters

Currently the steem blockchain has help inprove the standard of living of many, it has also help developed many people both in knowledge and skills. It has sever as a place for investors and also a place to help support one another.

With our community, many more people will benefit from these numerous benefits in the steem blockchain. Many more businesses will receive awareness and raise funds, more people will have improve standard of living, more investors will have a place to invest their cash, get returns and also help support other projects.

How we are improving the value of steem blockchain

More users are joining daily through our campaigns, this is increasing the amount of quality content daily on steemit. This is also increasing the level of activities on steemit bloockchain.

With the little support we give, we have been able to retainer more users and keeping the amount of active bloggers high on steemit.

With the investors coming in, we are able to get more demand for steem which will be powered up and this will make the price of steem to increase, creating more returns for holders of steem.

Our Journey So Far

In just few weeks of inception, we have recorded a level of success, as a non profitable community we have attempted leasing SP with our cash out to support our members but our bid was too low, therefore we have converted all earnings to steem and powered up so as to curate our members.

We are very strategic in curating our members and this has earned us first place trice and second place once in @abh12345 curation leauge contest.

We recently hosted our first Steemit Awareness Campaign in Rivers State University, Nigeria and we recorded over 100 sign up on steemit.

We will be lunching other campaigns to bring many more potential bloggers and investors to the steem blockchain.

Details of who we are and what we do is explained here.

A support to @credo community will help support many and also help drive the price of steem higher.

My Project is Operation feed the motherless

The project matters a lot to me cause in Nigeria we have quite a number of abandoned children who need our care and love to avoid them been deliquent to the society.
The project is contributing immensely to the increase in the value of steem Blockchain as lots of my fellow Steemits in Nigeria have also contributed their quota of what they earn to this cause. We go out to motherless babies homes on a Monthly basis and this has endeared a lot of people to belong to and participate in the steemit community thereby enhancing the Blockchain.

I started a project called The Legion of Evil Steemians. I wrote a second post answering some questions about it here. The project account is @tloes but there is not much there yet. We are in the building stage.

The purpose of the project is to promote anarchist and libertarian content. To spread libertarian ideals among newbies as we help them become good steemians. To raise group member SP so we can have a greater impact and spread these ideals farther. And lastly to support other worthy projects here on Steem.

It is an ambitious project for me to start at this time as I am still a very young Steemian, but I function better when I have something to work on. My current funding method (just settled on it last night) is to post anarchist memes from the account and power up all the Steem the account receives.

Later I will purchase delegations for the account and begin to actively curate from it. Right now curation from that account is minimal because of low SP. The group currently only has one other member. We are both young Steemians and we both have jobs and other responsibilities. I expect this to be a long road. That is okay. I'm in it for the long haul.

I know that you support the ideas of freedom and liberty for all people and if you find the project worthy your upvote would greatly be appreciated. Thanks for giving me a chance to pitch it to you. If you decide to help the project out then cast your vote here. My first anarchy meme from the @tloes account.

I'm a mountain man, lived all my life in the Himalaya. Of late, India has seen unprecedented growth in travel/tourism activities which has opened newer avenues for an otherwise resource deprived Himalayan Region.

This huge influx of tourists and climbers has brought in money and improved standards of life for the Himalayan folks. Though at the same, it has damaged the ecosystem heavily, at places the loss is irrepairable.

Through Steemit, I want to raise awareness so as whoever goes to mountains leaves nothing behind but footsteps.

I'm associated with a few organizations that conduct clean up drives at high altitudes. I want to conduct a massive clean up drive this July and I want Steemit to be the platform that helps bring me money and awareness to support the cause.

I've written about one such clean up drive here:

Hello @cryptoctopus. I am a member of promo-steem and the founder is @futurethinker. It all started with the group of promoters, bringing in more people into steemit. We work with the #promo-steem movement to promote Steemit. @steem-ambassador is the main account for promo-steem they handle the promotion, we are here for the user retention. [At the moment we are counting 525 members.]

And then we realized that bringing people to steemit is not only the main thing but making them active too. So futurethinker added the mentorship part where new and even old steemians are being mentored about steemit generally and most importantly how to write a good article. Then he added the scout section where there are people who are looking out for new steemians who are on steemit already to bring them in and help them out too so that they can be more active and also write good post.

We have encouragement boost section, where we encourage posts that attended the feedback sessions of mentors by giving them little upvote from the community account (@promo-mentors). We also have curie and ocd curators in the community. They try to look into community member's post if any of it is qualified for the upvote. We are trying to make even promising authors to stay on steemit.

The community is already contributing to increase the value of the steem blockchain and with your support, we are going to do more.

Thanks.

I am chairman of the NSC community @cryptoctopus, one of the communities in Aceh Indonesia with a membership of over 300 people, in our community many new users with level 45 down. The NSC community has some special planning in order to advance steemit, in line with the goals of the CEO of steemit @ned and his colleagues. Many of the ways we do to promote steemit to the Society, even though we do not get support from anyone in every activity, our only aim is to introduce steemit to all societies, in the hope that steemit can help their economy.

The @promo-steemit project that we do many ways, among the programs, are:
* Promoting steemit to the wider community, and this is a Community priority program
* Teach beginners steemit to avoid Plagiarism, with agenda surah steemit every month.
* Create a Charity program with a humanitarian agenda in accordance with the needs of the community
* Strengthening cross-community relationships, as long as the community is willing to share
* strengthen relationships with fellow community members

The project we run is to multiply steemit users and avoid plagiarism, the way we think it needs to be done by everyone or community. We really hope that the program we run gets support from all the whale steemit.

The birth
It all began towards the end of 2017, when a team of like minded steemians, who saw how much light and impact steemit has brought unto their lives rub minds together in the quest to also share the impact of steemit to the society and give back to the steem blockchain and the steemit community, then idea of ERADICATING POVERTY was born.

It was officially kicked off on 24th of January 2018 through the determination of four individuals @stevendion , @phunke , @stevenmosoes and @thomasgift Whose determinations is to make a great change in the society.

Steemit helping hands is a blockchain charity community that aims towards meeting people at the point of critical needs, in as much as our main goal is to break the strong hold poverty has on the society we believe that our journey is far fetched.
Secondly we are using same medium to promote the steem blockchain community by bringing in people of intellectuals and technology know-how to steemit.

Why it matters
If we are all asked, we will all be able to mention one, two and more needs of ours that are crucial, that is why steemit.helping.hands will be meeting people's needs at critical points like

critical health conditions
at point of life and death
disabled people
poverty stricken people

Steemit.helping.hands will be storming out into slums, hospitals, orphanage homes and under developed areas where obviously the rate of poverty is at its peak, and we will be putting smiles on the faces of the helpless children and their families.

ALL funds raised by posts of the @steemhelpinghand account will be used by steemit.helping.hands community to save lives and to support all members recruited into steemit, and also support minnows and newbies , provide rewards and prizes for @steemhelpinghand events and competitions, and provide additional curation and upvotes for posts on Steemit.

Right now we are currently raising funds for the surgery of a hypo baby named daniel which total cost is 1.2 million..

As a group we will be trying to use our new found powers for good. Soon we will begin curation of undervalued posts by young Steemians in an effort to send love their way.

Other group members have created an account for the group @Asapers. There is nothing there but resteems now. We are working on an intro post. Please keep an eye on the page. Big things are coming!

#asapers is a project started by @hitmeasap to make a difference in young Steemians lives and to help them make a difference on Steem.

I do not know how would this increase the value of steem blockchain, but I will start a project based on charity. Many are suffering, because they do not have basic needs. For me it is important to help those who need it the most.

Indeed there are so many projects, advocacy and charities going on and I would like to highlight several community building initiatives that I am part of.

1.I am part of @steemitfamilyph which we lovingly refer to as Ohana and we started with 10 active people last October and we have ballooned to over 400 individuals this January.

Our aim is to help guide and mentor new people joining Steemit and give them that small boost in confidence to be able to write their own unique stories, poems, photographs and projects. To be able to put out good content without the need to follow the trends.

Steemit is filled with the endless daily challenges and although fundamentally there is nothing wrong but it could be better. We could be reading about stuff they care and passionate about.

We have no big delegation nor do we have a whale trailing us but we have doing the best we can to help each one grow to be good members of the Steem Community. Not that we don't need it in fact we tried to get delegation and I wrote it on this little piece that landed in the top 10 in over 150 entries but unfortunately only had 4 delegations.

A Role Model Steemian | The most basic reason WHY

We recently published our almost 30 days of curation and how the votes were distributed

Curation Update of @steemitfamilyph

We have featured about 140 different artictles in the past 28 days and giving 169 unique votes to various individuals. The first 30 days of a redfish is critical. They come full of hope that they can earn. First lesson we teach them. It is not easy and that they need to work on good content to get recognition. Nothing dissuades a person faster than putting their best effort and see zeroes in their post. So we try our best to spread the votes but vote more generously in good content.

Our full 100% upvote is only 28 cents for now because of some of the delegations we voluntary gave it and all efforts are done to continue powering it up. If you would vote trail Ohana you would be touching and making a difference on a lot of people's lives. They can continue on creating good content.

2.Due to my work in Ohana I was invited to be part of the @promo-mentors community which was created by @futurethinker. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to him as he was the first person that nominated me for a curie vote that changed my life and outlook of Steemit.

It is the aim of Promo-mentors to create a community that will bridge the gap of mentoring, guiding and discovering hidden talent. A lot of the mentors and scouts are also part of major curation guilds like Curie, SteemSTEM and OCD so good content is what we are after.

It's massive to the morale of someone when their post gets that much sought after curation vote. Yet of course not all are sent to those guilds but nevertheless they receive a community vote from us called an Encouragement Boost. It's a way for us to push them along and try to make them better.

We give work shops on mark down guidelines, formating, best way to build followers and getting votes organically and most important is to make them feel they belong.

Here is a little video to show what we do.

3.Steemit as a tool for education. Both Ohana @steemitfamilyph and @promo-mentors are both supporting the initiative of Steemit Academy Laguna -These are a group of teachers who are bring Steemit to Highschool Students to spark their creativity and get them involved in cryptocurrency and the blockchain early on.

Let's face it the blockchain technology will be mainstream in a couple of years and will make a huge change like when the internet was introduced. This is a good way for us to create early adopters amongst the youth. What better way is it by being exposed to Steemit.

Here are some of the milestones they have done the past couple of days.

FINALLY!! STEEMIT WAS INTRODUCED TO MY 60 STUDENTS AS A PLATFORM OF EDUCATION
My 10 leading students finally signed up for steemit...
My self-reflection as a Teacher (My First Blog- Thanks @Drakos)

4.Lastly is a charity organization that I have been a part of for the past 11 years. We are committed to provide school supplies, books, medicine to about 100 or more children of an indigenous tribe called Aeta's in Banawen, Zambales in the Philippines.

This would be our first foray in the digital crowdfunding. We have existed for the past 11 years getting donations from family, friends and co workers. 2 years ago we were able to get funding from a company through their Corporate Social Responsibility Program and it has made us able to help them more.

The school was established 2007 but never had anyone graduate gradeschool. Most kids at the most would only reach Grade 2-3 and then the realities of living a subsistence lifestyle kicks in and they would need to work to eat.

Life is hard and they were hardly educated so not a lot of options for them. We adopted the school 3 years ago and we were able to help give the school their first 6 kids who graduated gradeschool and is currently studying highschool in the city.

Our aim here is create an account for them and make use of the GIFTECONOMY system of Steem to create a better life for them. I have seen a lot of charities being run on individual accounts and I am not really judging some individuals because some seem genuine but a lot more I see as just as a means of powering up their accounts and gain some influence.

Besides I see this as a long term plan that I would eventually turn over the created account to the Aeta community and they can manage and share their songs, their culture, their stories their dances and their history.

It is not just for the Aeta's but for most indigenous tribes in the world that their culture is fast disappearing.

It is my hope that the Steem Blockchain will be able to save the remaining culture the Aetas have and will always exist in the blockchain.

For more information on what we do I have the following articles.
Promoting Steem to Gift in Kind Foundation| Our first step to modern fund raising
Gift In Kind T-Shirt Logo Design Contest | 8 SBD Prize! Extended till Feb 14!

Those are the 4 projects that I am currently involved and each one is about guiding, mentoring, retaining and rewarding people who will create good content in Steem. It is about making a difference in their lives and making the adoption of blockchain technology easier.

You start with a good word of mouth in promoting Steem as easily understandable, that it is working and that it has a thring GIFTECONOMY system that will change lives. Schools are a good place to start as the young will eventually be the ones to really make use and even make the Steem Blockchain better. Early adopters would be successful and make a difference in world.

Using the Steem Blockchain in Charity humanizes the blockchain and makes people see the beauty of Steem of how it can transform a liitle barrio from nowhere into a thriving community. More than a means of receiving gifts and donations Steemit would be a way for the Aetas to record their culture in the blockchain ensuring that future generations will be able to look for it and see that their culture has not fully disappeared.

The blockchain is the future and we will be part of those that trailblazed and make a difference in a lot of people's lives.

I hope that you will be able to choose some but I am hoping all of these endeavors. Be the difference in these peoples lives.

Wow I didn't know man, the curie vote had so much impact on you :)

The @steemitfamilyph is one of the most active and fun members we have in promo-mentors! I can see a lot of passion coming from them, they are very active in the feedback sessions and also in the general chat. Where most of the time they don't explain their jokes to me :P

Yeah it really changed me a lot and helped me focus on being a better person in Steemit. In a way I am paying it forward with what we are doing with @steemitfamilyph and I am glad that the people we find and mentoring has a good attitude and engaged in the community.

They must have been tired of my constant reminder of engage, engage and engage some more.

I do support the project of @steemitfamilyph I am one of the members there too and I saw how each one of the folks got transformed and inspired on the projects and mentorship that is ongoing.

We are a small group of bloggers for now but the impact that we are doing is awesome. It does matter because with the support that we are able to give to the newbies we make them stay on this community. Our community vote doesn't weigh that much right now just a few cents but the bonding and camaraderie that it gives to all folks in here is solid. We are also inclusive to all folks that are willing to be helped. We are here to help retain folks which can help the steem community by delivering quality works.

@bearone did a great post last night on some geographical based communities that are getting started and need some support on Steemit. They are all looking to grow the platform, train new users, and help to increase retention here on Steemit.

These communities help to prevent posts from members getting lost in all the hustle and bustle that is Steemit and help discourage spam or bad posts by rewarding the good posts of those in the communities.

As these communities continue to grow and spread it will help to increase retention on Steemit and thus help retain great talent in content and growing apps that are critical to maintaining and growing this platform.

@genxrev | Feb. 7, 2018, 9:31 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

hello and thanks for posting up the post by @bearone - it points me into some information that has had me wondering a bit over the past couple days since joining Steemit. It seems that there are a couple deeply held competing visions of how "value" might be created and sustained on the platform. I'm finding myself leaning towards it being a function of the strength of the community (new users, sustaining existing user base, helping people know their contribution matters to the long term health of the project), where it seems others as best I can figure it out are concerned with the strength of Steem as a currency. I suspect it's kind of a "both / and" to some measure but feel like I needed to get more deeply exposed to what the reasoning is for each. You've allowed me to stumble upon where to begin.

As for the communities you describe, this seems to be one of the most important things I can imagine. As someone just starting out, it is REALLY hard to get your post to pop up out of the clutter for someone to even notice it, let alone decide it may be worth the recognition of an upvote. I've begun taking notice of these kinds of communities and feel like this is the next step in my "homework list" to begin learning from their wisdom and improving how better to contribute to everyone's benefit to the degree I can.

I for one appreciate the pointer for where next to look. Thanks!

I am currently gearing up to launch a separate, "brand specific" Steemit account. It will focus exclusively on creating content, promoting others' content, and advocating for issues around non-suicidal self-injury. I will explore the many topics and mental illness related to this behavior as well as regularly highlight organizations working in that space. It is a ridiculously widespread issue that does not get talked about a lot. As someone who struggles with this behavior, I wish there was more out there.

@charitybot | Feb. 5, 2018, 7:48 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

There are too many good charitable projects already listed. I have two project ideas in mind. I want there to be a fund on steemit that consolidates at least 10% of the network's vested steem power, whose voting power will be devoted to charitable causes. It can auto-follow verified charities with good histories and thus create an automatic stipend/basic income for already working projects, spreading the wealth of steemit around on an automatic basis. I know the number sounds huge but I can dream and I want to set the bar high.

My second idea for a project would be hosting a support network for psychological help, something like suicidewatch+ to be hosted on steemit and maybe a chat channel on discord. Maybe call it the Phoenix Support Group. I feel like too many people are afraid to talk about their personal issues and many pretend to just be okay so as to not be off-putting to others on the platform. I feel like it's a shame that everyone has to pretend like they're okay even if they're in dire financial and emotional straits.

I didn't realize creating a discord channel was this simple, Some Supportive Friends just launched here https://discord.gg/uqrQM3H

Basically between the two ideas I would want to help create a basic framework where people around the world can help care for the minds and bodies of people around the world, I think having a minimum amount of the reward pool be devoted to charity would go a long way towards improving both the health and happiness of others, and the public perception of our blockchain as a giving one. And I think having a place where people know they're welcome to express how they really feel might be necessary in an environment where everyone feels the need to maintain appearances, when they have few other outlets for emotional support.

At the very least it's been very encouraging reading through other comment's projects and I'm hopeful for our future.

Hi @cryptoctopus, I have something I'm building for the steemit community, that you might consider supporting, but haven't promoted it to the community so it wouldn't be fair to waste your time.

The domain and steemit accounts are acquired, next will be an artwork contest, in the coming days. Just trying to decide on a suitable prize.

So what's the best way to get this in front of you, when it's launched? If you want you can follow @echobot and be the first to hear what it's all about :-D

I can assure you, it'll be worthy of your time and mine hopefully.

Hey @cryptoctopus

This was the best way that We have found to introduce You to the @dtubedaily community.

As Dtubers the only possible way that we have to express what is our community all about, what are our goals and what are the differences we want to make in the community is in video Format. I would like to invite You to watch it:

I think each person who is a part of the #dtubedaily community can happily express how much us all coming together has made such a positive impact. Not just in regards to success on the platform but in our own and personal lives. We push each other to grow, to work through fears, to try something new, and to refine our skills. It has become a safe space for us all to explore our potentials and to have the support of others regardless of what it is we are passionate about and want to add to the platform. The beautiful thing that I find through the use of video as a medium is that you experience a deeper sense of an individual. There is emotion and vulnerability, humour and comedy, advice and help, and all presented in a tangible and relatable way. This is what has allowed our members to connect on a more personal level and really establish our family community. We are also very active in bringing new members on because in the long term community is what helps us all move forward together.

@dtubedaily and everyone involved has become a huge pact of my life and I am endlessly grateful every day to be a part of it. 💛

We all see each other as family which is why we always help each gathering new ideas to benefit others in order to find happiness and success. Without @dtubedaily I may have also 'quit' as @adetorrent has said as I would have been in a loophole of confusion and procrastination about this whole platform. However, because of this community, I was able to get my questions answered, have weekly meetups understand more about this platform, and the amazing people within it!

Thank you @sergiomendes for introducing our family @dtubedaily to @cryptoctopus. Dtubedaily is a project of many projects. It's a community inside #steem community that put's people together to really think together about anything. So if 1 of us has an idea then we can all help and make it happen. If one of us has a project then all of us help with that project. We also help #minnows as much as possible. Teach them about @steem, @dtube, @dsound, @dlive, @dmania, @utopian.io, @steemshot and @busy.org. So Dtubedaily is not only about #vlogs and making video's...it's anything you want to do. Over time, everyone's skills will continue to sharpen and in doing so, we will continue to grow and elevate the quality of this platform. We all believe in the platform's potential and want to help it grow not only with our content but also curate other original content in order to diversify the platform for all viewers and creators to be inspired.

I am a total noob to crypto, but I have been an active social media user and creator for some time now. When I learned about steemit, it seemed like the perfect intersection for my old interest and my newly forming one (crypto). I got on the platform, and dtube was the natural place for me. There were not many users in the beginning and I had a bunch of old vlogs that I had created but not done anything with. I was overwhelmed with all teh new information one must digest to understand steemit in its totality, so I watched a bunch of videos to learn and kept seeing some familiar faces. I soon realized they all used teh tag #dtubedaily, and I kind of invited myself into the group and started adopting the tag before knowing really what it was or what it meant to those using it. Whereas a lot of communities would have been turned off by this, the #dtubedaily community thought my poorly filmed vlogs showed promise (im gasing myself up here) but more importantly, they saw that I cared about the platform as much as they did. Instead of being elitist and rude towards a noob for not knowing what he was doing, they invited me to be a part of their group. I attended my first virtual meetup withthe gang last Saturday, and teh expereince was nothing short of amazing. Everyone has been friedly, supportive, and helpful. This is truly a group that embodies the ethos of Steemit (in my opinion). A group of dedicated steemians, and also just a really fucking dope group of misfits from all around the world spreading the dtube and steemit love. Very deserving cohort (in my humble opinion).

I started a project with some Steemians last week - @bund. It's a community project centered on increasing the retention rate of Steemians by sharing historical cultures and art on the Blockchain. When many africans join steemit, they feel lost after some days - because they hardly find a thing they can relate to. That's why we see that Steemit has about 700k users but around 60k that is active. I think this is a good way to increase interaction among members, since Steemit is not just about creating accounts and leaving. With this project some Africans (and others too) will be able to find things around them they could easily relate to.

The account would also serve as a community account for the ancient city of Benin. A more detailed writeup on the project can be found in the introduction post here.

Hi cryptoctopus, I have only discussed it in a video so far, and haven't laid out all the deets quite yet, as I am still assembling people, but I am working on creating a platform to bring more women to Steem. I want to make the blockchain version of Pinterest. I think this will not only bring more ladies into crypto, but also jumpstart sales via cryptocurrency. Females make up the majority of the shopping population, and will therefore be necessary to tip the scales in making crypt-exchange for products possible. I think women are the key to the expansion of blockchain though, and it's an audience that is continually ignored! Well, that's my idea! :)

Thanks @cryptoctopus for this wonderful opportunity.
The project I would love to introduce is @africaunchained project. It is not my project but I'm a pioneer member of the project. The creator and custodian of the project is @destinysaid.

On africaunchained our main aim is to help every african man or woman have a say. To help africans out of the bondage of poverty, making them realise that they can do better on their own without any assistance from their governments or elites. Teaching them to be self dependent and building their homes and feeding their families without waiting for the government. The blockchain is a wonderful place to be in and we want every African to be a part of it. Helping our various communities using the blockchain technology and introducing our various businesses into the blockchain. This in turn brings development to ourselves and the community at large.

Based on this, we have started sharing the goodnews about the steem blockchain to every african using entertainment and meet-ups to increase the growth of the African community on steemit.

To increase our outreach Steemit Campus Invasion(SCI) was introduced by the founder @destinysaid. The Steemit Campus Invasion is aimed at spreading the goodnews of steemit to students from different campuses in Africa, to help them get full view of what the blockchain community has to offer and how lives can be changed. Also, helping them gain assurance of a better future, without relying on the government for assistance. Entertainment such as music performance, drinks and food are some of the major things to spices up the invasion.

This year the invasion will span across various tertiary institutions in Nigeria, Africa. The first Invasion already took place on 3rd February, 2018 at federal polythenic, Otefe, Delta, Nigeria and the turn out was massive. Other campuses will be visited soon to spread the good news.

With all these been done and said, we hope to bring alot of people into the steemit community making the community bigger and better. Already alot of Africans have been incorporated into steemit through the Africaunchained project.

We are hopeful that you will look into our project/community and show your support, because we need all the support we can get to make the project a complete success. Thanks once again.

I as well am a pioneer member of @africaunchained and we will do so much better with your upvote and support. Africa is one of the various continents where people have a certain idea about how things should be, and how people should behave.

With the help of your support, @africaunchained would be able to create a united front for the whole of Africa, where everyone can have their say. Thank you for this novel idea and even if we are not selected,I
believe it's the thought that counts.

I'm a proud member of the africaunchained project and being there is the best thing that has ever happened to me since I joined steemit. There's so much love and oneness, I've met people there who have been of great assistance to me. This this society has something very big in stock to offer to humanity and I strongly believe with the support from everyone the aspirations of this great project will be achieved.

In a post waaaaay down lower, I’d said that I for one was excited that @crypoctopus was hosting this invitation so,that I could also see what people are doing with Steem and the Blockchain. What an amazing thing you are doing and your vision is exciting as all get out. I’m now following @africaunchained! Thank you so much for sharing your work and I look forward to seeing all the lives you will change because of your efforts. Peace and blessings in your work!

Dearest @cryptoctupus
@horblende has stated everything @africaunchianed stands for, thanks to @destinysaid.

The community led to my entry into Steemit, and since then, they have been family. @africaunchained, to me is more than a project or community. It is a family stretching across Africa and bringing Africans to make use of the steem blockchain and spreading love.

We believe with time, this project (family) will bring about great movement in Africa, thereby moving the decentralised evolution into every nook and cranny in Africa. And indeed, African will be unchained from the clutches of dependency, corruption, poverty and governments.

I hope you do take a look into this project and support us.

I'm a new artist working on sci-fi/cyberpunk/fantastical 3D CGI art in Blender and make cool stuff for animation, music videos and clothing design. I recently moved to Steemit to give this platform a try, I have a presence on Facebook mainly (www.facebook.com/dbTESSEL). In future I seek to incorporate VR into my workflow and make interactive video type experiences with cool graphics, as well as using unusual projection mapping for club performances. Right now I'm posting up my stuff so far until I get new stuff made, already I'm liking the fact that the picture quality on Steemit is fantastic and it doesn't mangle pictures with horrible compression.

I think projects like mine bring value to the platform by showing more variety and real use cases of the platform to other content producers who might be more at home on Reddit or Twitter or even Patreon. The fact that monetisation is interwoven with the platform itself is a big selling point, but the functionality and userbase has to be there too. If my work here is successful it will help me convince more people to get on the platform, as I am already trying to do.

Happy steeming!

THE PHOTO GAMES

We are in the second week of running the PHOTO GAMES
"A little bit of sport and a whole lot of community" - @photogames

This is our second week and it's going well... we just started our account verified last night and did our first post today
https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@photogames/what-are-the-photogames-an-introduction

First week (without an official account) we had over 500 comments and played a new game every day together with photographers: @derekkind @caseygrimley @aweber and myself @jarvie

Check out the posts on #photogames

The whole community participates but there's an element where we invite people for a sub game and they help run the games that week.

WHY I PERSONALLY BELIEVE IN IT

As someone who's been influential in organizing communities on other social media outlets (and outside of social media with an in person photography event business) I can say the photographers are going to be coming soon. None of my friends were on here just a month ago but I know they'll be coming in soon and i've been gradually helping lots of them get rolling.

There are photographers with followings of millions (many are my friends) and I know they'll be jumping in soon. Having great community building games like this are just the right thing for them so they view the platform as a place to grow together. Curated feeds are important (which are really needed, specially ones that give back economically like @photofeed) but we also need some other attractions that involve the community in other ways... to be able to play while they show off is just the right ticket for both the aspiring and the inspiring.

It's great to have an initiative that appeals to and bridges the gap between the non-photographer and the photographer. Many of our games will be easily playable by people who just like good photography and not just amazing photographers.

I believe that photographers need to show what's possible to those who appreciate or are learning... but also make those who are joining feel welcome and know what they can do to perhaps one day follow suit.

I'm really excited to be involved in this! @jarvie, I liked what you said about bridging the gap between photographer and non-photographer, or between pros and beginners. We love the contests and challenges we've seen on Steemit already but I feel there's a need to involve photographers on all levels and go beyond just awarding the best photographs. There's an opportunity for growth here, on both the community and individual levels. Games are a proven way of bringing people of all types and skill levels together in a community environment.

I say it's proven because I've seen it happen in an incredible way and was lucky enough to be a part of it: in the early days of Google Plus, Chrysta Rae created a photo contest called the Scavenger Hunt (the idea is that you have a list of 10 things to photograph, and the photos are judged and awarded at the end). It started small but grew fast with the help of a few people who had established followers. Within a year there were hundreds of photographers of all skill levels participating, and many of them had joined G+ just for the contest. The Hunt drew in big name judges in the photography community (including @jarvie). The community built up around the Scavenger Hunt was so tight it was like a family, and when we had a Scavenger Hunt meetup in Las Vegas it was like a giant family reunion. I've never seen anything like it. I was lucky enough to get in early - I went from total amateur photographer to pro, largely thanks to the creative impetus provided by the challenge of the Hunt, and I would credit it for most of my later success, because as silly as it sounds, that game was a catalyst for all my subsequent learning. There are more than a handful of other Scavengers who can tell the same story and have gone on to become successful photographers.

The Scavenger Hunt became one of the biggest and most vibrant communities on G+, and is still going, even when that network has fallen into decline.

We aren't trying to replicate the format of the Scavenger Hunt, but we hope that offering an organized series of games and challenges will bring the Steemit photography community together in the way that it was brought together on G+.

I've only been on Steemit a couple of weeks, but I've been so impressed by the quality of the interaction that I've seen - it's refreshing, and more than that, it's inspiring: I haven't written or participated so much on a social network since the glory days of G+. I can't wait to help get @photogames up off the ground - I think it has great potential for this curious infant network - I've seen it happen before and have been lucky enough to be a part of it.

Starting this Wednesday (tomorrow) I'm running the first Steemit Ultra Marathon game.

Last week I tested this out with 5 helpful Steemians, and it went really well. So now I'm starting the game up for real, with prize money at stake. ;-)

This game simulates (as much as I can) running a real ultra marathon. It is based on a real ultra marathon course - The Wellington Urban Ultra, which I ran last year.

I think this matters because it engages people. It's fun to play(according to the testers) and it involves much more than a roll of a dice. Those that engage with the game, do some research, do a bit of thinking about strategy etc, will do better. It's also entertaining for those who are just watching.

I have plan to add to the features of the game if it proves popular to draw in some of those watchers so they can participate as well.

This can possibly create a focus for the running community to challenge each other to a virtual race, and for those who are not runners yet, to become inspired to go outside and give it a crack.

This increases the value of Steemit because it is more than simply nice photos or a well thought out article. It has the potential to bring Steeminans together in friendly competition and engage with each other. In other words, it has the potential to build community, which is what we want on Steemit.

The entry to the game also specifically does not require a resteem or a vote from players to enter. My assumption is if they enjoy the game they will vote for it. If they don't they wont.

So if you are interested, check out my post explaining the rules etc and then sign up for the game before tomorrow. It's going to be fun ;-)

This is a draft of a post I'm working on about a project I have in mind which could help disseminate information to the masses, promote the steemit platform and provide a little help to those who are suffering a life without a home. I've asked a couple of friends on steemit for their opinions and since you are clearly looking for a project to support, I'd be interested to know your thoughts also.

Cheers.

I do not expect a follow or such, but I do want to tell you guys my goal on Steemit.
As someone who comes from a culture of hiphop and tech, I believe I should cater to those genres. As Steem gets bigger, the more people with diverse interests there are.
I want to create a page where Steemians who enjoys the world of hiphop to be able to come and discuss the current state of the industry.
Some plans I have:
1. Weekly DTube show discussing This Week In Hip Hop
2. DLive to be able to interact and share opinions with these people.
3. Invest more into the platform to ensure top notch quality and the ability to cater to my main audience.
I believe this matters because there will be a point where all these new Steemians won't have a place to go tailored to their interests.
I also believe heavily in the blockchain and I believe hiphop and music and general can greatly benefit from the use of blockchain and hopefully start incorporating it into the industry. I know I cannot cater to everyone but if this is your thing then stay tuned because my quality of content will only become better :)

Awesome that you're doing this :) It's still small as the community is only new right now but I've started @weddingcontest to try and build/promote the Wedding Photography community here on Steemit. All funds are staying in the account as SP so we can upvote entries or going to prize money! On the scale of things it might not matter, but I know what wedding photographers are like, and I think they will come in droves at some point soon, helping to boost Steem along the way. My skillset is so heavily rooted in Photography, and specifically Weddings that this just felt like the best way I could help build a community here on Steemit and really contribute!

Hello @cryptoctopus our project to cure quality content and original is called theunion, we think that every day more users are registered in steemit and every time it is more difficult to be seen and receive votes from other steemians in the community. Our project is still very young but we have had good acceptance in steemit; our intention is to cure the publication of new users and help them grow by sharing their publications and giving them greater visibility, the truth is that we need all the help possible to continue growing and offer a help that is remarkable in the community.

> Tell me about your project (or a project you are involved in)

The project that I created and am focused on at the moment is the Creators' Guild. We are a small discord group of Steemians right now since we just started up two weeks ago but have already help many users. Our goal is to help everyone serious about Steem to create the best content they can.

> Why do you think it matters

This matters because there are so many users on the cusp of greatness within the Steem ecosystem that only need a nudge in the right direction to really see great growth. Every use that improves also improve the overall content on the Steem blockchain. This not only helps the creator earn more rewards but makes the platform as a whole look much better.

>How is your project contributing to increase the value of the steem blockchain.

The more content we have of a high caliber the better we all look to potential investors and large content creators. If all anyone sees on Steem after joining is low quality work than what point do they have of investing either time or money?

The more this group grows the more people we can help and turn into the next group of people to help yet even more Steemians. Every creator can be better. Even those earning $100+ per post. I believe that it is together, not alone, that we are able to raise the content bar for steem.

Hi there @cryptoctopus, here's my project pitch:

Today I started a new account, called @thunderclap that we will use as a community account to build a team of people that will invite many Steemians in this community to participate in Thunderclaps to promote Steem (and in the future possibly other blockchains as well). All Thunderclaps will be aimed towards the benefit of the Steem community, making messages have great impact by touching huge social reach (1 Milllion and higher per Thunderclap).

I'm currently discussing with ADSactly to become a part of their ecosystem, also I'm in touch with Aggroed from PAL.

https://steemit.com/adsactly/@thunderclap/team-thunderclap-is-part-of-adsactly-now

Also, the Thunderclap 2nd edition has almost passed the 500K social reach mark, so we are looking forward to yet another great Thunderclap:

Hello @cryptoctopus!

Thank you for this wonderful initiative!

Let me start with introducing myself. I have been on Steemit for almost half a year now. Most of my time I have been curating for curie and OCD. I enjoy the crypto space, because of the amazing things that are possible with blockchain and also Steemit.

1- Tell me about your project (or a project you are involved in)

Around 3 months ago I founded the promo-mentors community (https://discord.gg/vDPAFqb). Our mission has been to support and encourage not only newcomers to Steemit but also undervalued authors. We work with the #promo-steem movement to get Steemit mainstream. @steem-ambassador is the main account for promo-steem, they handle the promotion, we are here to retain the users. At the moment we are counting 525 members. Our members consist of promoters(they bring in new people), mentors(they give their soul to mentor the members everyday), scouts (they search through Steemit for the talents and invite them) and curators (from Curie mostly).

2- Why do you think it matters

Curating for OCD and Curie I found there is something missing besides the rewards: the interaction. I have seen so many promising Steemians leaving the platform (even the ones that received decent votes). I believe in bringing new users a place to connect, to engage and make friends, will also makes them say besides rewarding posts. So that is why promo-mentors focusses on community building.

I think communities are what will enable Steemit to have an advantage over other platforms. We already see many great communities emerging. As the slogan goes: "Come for the rewards, stay for the community".

3- How is your project contributing to increase the value of the steem blockchain.

In one sentence: We encourage and teach people to do something they are good at and love to do, while at the same benefitting the Steemit community. We don't aim to give big rewards to quality articles, in that @curie and @ocd are doing a great job. We do however have a community vote of $2-$3 and a bigger vote of $4-$5 thanks to the support of @anomadsoul, which is enough to encourage people. Also we recognize that there are many similar communities looking to support new Steemians like PAL. What we do differently is that we are actively mentoring and searching for promising Steemians. Also because we are in close contact with steemit promoters we reach a fresh and diverse public. We got people from the Philippines, Nigeria, South- Africa, Venezuela and more.

Daily our mentors are holding workshops and feedback sessions which our all our members have access to. We have given over 100 posts feedback and distributed our community vote to 80-90 posts (which is running for almost 3 weeks).

What we are we going to do with your vote

At the moment we are working on the revelation of our main account @promo-mentors. We are planning to use this account to help promote the interesting projects and initiatives of the promo-mentors members. Part of the rewards we earn from these post will go back to the members to help fund their initiatives. For example we have a member @leap8 who is working on a making a Pixabay for Steemit. His private situation makes it hard for him to devote time to work on this full-time, but with our (small) support he has more hope in making this come true.

Furthermore we are going to hold contests and challenge our members to start initiatives. On my blog @futurethinker I am already doing this and they have been quite successful so far if I may say so myself, except for the last one :P. Sad face.

I invite you to visit our community on discord to see for yourself what we are doing! https://discord.gg/vDPAFqb

Our demo video!

This video is still a demo and was just finished today. There are many parts we need to change and add, but I hope the video below will give you a better understanding of @promo-mentors.

Thank you again for this amazing opportunity @cryptoctopus!

You could say they are that initial spark for many people that lights up a fire to create something great! You could be the water that boils to add some steem ;-) Thank you for your initiative to add value to STEEM and steemit!

I have been a member of the @promo-mentors group since November 2017, and an active mentor for newcomers since last month.

I can confirm that this community, and especially our leader @futurethinker who invited me, has given me what I was missing on Steemit, which was some genuine human interaction. There are many groups on discord and on Steemit, but no other group has made me feel more welcome and valuable.

I remember very well the feeling of not knowing how to start on this platform, how to form a follower base or how to write a good post, and thanks to our community I feel like I belong. We are a support system.

Most newbies experience a sense of "loneliness" and helplessness on this platform when they first join, and I'm proud to say that I can now help them feel like they belong also.

I think that what sets us apart from other groups is that we truly go out of our way and make time in our daily schedules to make sure that every new member in our group improves as content creators, and as members of Steemit.

We don't just want them to join, we want them to stay. The way we do this is by offering workshops and feedback on each member's posts, and by providing a community vote that will keep newcomers motivated.

If you choose to support our project, I can guarantee you that it will be a vote well spent and that it will help growing the Steemit community by choosing quality over quantity.

Hello @cryptoctopus.

First of all, thank you for giving these amazing people a chance to showcase their projects.

Same as @seyiodus @maverickinvictus and @evecab I am also a member of promo-mentors and our founder is the ever supporting advance AI @futurethinker.

I stumbled on this group by an invite from him on his first contest that he and @evecab made this year and after joining his community it has been an amazing journey for me afterwards.

The project that I am involved with is #promo-mentors. It's aim is to create a community of veteran and newbie steemians helping one another to improve their blogging skills.

It does matter because not all folks that came across this site is already an expert on his/her niche. Some of us are newbie bloggers and I will include myself on that.
With the help of the mentors in their #post-feedback session that is done daily we are able to give feedback to the authors on how they can be better and how they can improve their craft on this site.

A lot of mentors and scouts are also part of the curation guilds that steemians are hoping that they will be voted for the OCD, SteemStem and Curie hence they do know what are the things that the author should do in that way they will receive the precious vote from them.

We also have a lounge both English and Spanish wherein they can interact to one another, make friends and talk anything under the sun. We also focus on the community too from different nationality right now we have folks from Philippines, South Africa, Nigeria, Venezuela and even the U.A.E.

In a way to help and inspire the members to continue on creating their awesome post we give the members a community upvote wherein it is called Encouragement Boost. The amount of upvote that we are able to give is around $2-$3 for the community vote and then we got a support from @anomadsoul wherein a vote can give up to $4-$5 which we think is really a great start for steemians. Another good thing for it is because they are mentored by OCD and Curie mentors the members are aware on what they can do and how to improve their blogging style in that way next time when they post they will be receiving those nominations already.

Aside from the mentors we also have scouts that are looking for steemians that has a potential to become a member that will join the community.

By creating good content and keeping the steemians on this platform active and engaged definitely it helps out the value of the steem blockchain.

After the extensive messages from @futurethinker @evecab and @tpkidkai I don’t know what else can I add 😅

What I can say is that I have also been a member of @promo-mentors starting just a few days after I joined steemit almost 2 months ago. I have been receiving honest and constructive feedback on the sesssions that take place in the discord group. Not only that, more and more mentors are starting workshops about several subjects like poetry, fiction and science to help and teach other users how to create high quality content.

I really think @cryptoctopus you should take a look into the discord group and see what we are doing in here, I am sure you will like it’s and find it is a fun place with a very positive vibe 😛. We are also constantly scouting new promising authors and inviting them in the group so they can receive the support they deserve.

If there is one project in steemit that deserves your consideration it is without doubt @promo-mentors

I would like to add my voice of support to @futurethinker fantastic project and community #promo-mentors. I have been very lucky to be the poetry and fiction mentor at #promo-mentors for about 3 weeks now and what has struck me most about this community is the ethos of encouragement for new steemians to gain the knowledge they need to grow in the wider steemit community.
There is a need for the personal touch, which is what the promo-mentors group brings to the table. Personally from my work in the #poetry-fiction-workshop, I have heard from a lot of new steemians that they feel confused/overwhelmed by the mechanics of the platform. I'm there to help mentor creative writing, but what we also all strive to do in the group is explain the mechanisms of success on steemit. Quality blog posts, understanding the importance of networking and community etc. All of these things are so important. At promo-mentors we give feedback on posts, in a constructive, and above all, supportive manner. So that new steemians can grow without feeling overwhelmed by it all. 🙂

Amazing what I end up finding in my random jaunts around steemit! @promo-mentors sounds really interesting. I’ve been slowly working on a niche that focuses on communication, engagement and community, so this is really what I see as an important initiative. It is awfully lonely here sometimes, and although it is so much more dynamic than that other famous social networking platform :), I sometimes find myself comparing steem to how I have developed some strong friendships with people there. Somehow streemit needs to become a place where we connect a little more personally.

Right now, I don’t have a project. Just plans for some, for the future.

One, create and develop a classical music community. I’m not discriminating, there are a lot of great musicians here in Steemit. I admire them and their work. But I do tend to be on the classical side. The music community is growing, more people are getting into it, sharing what they have. But there’s little representation for classical musicians (well, not just classical music but others as well, like the traditional ones of various countries). Plus, the number of people interested are few, hopefully we’ll be able to provide guidance and support for musicians of this genre who would like to join Steemit. I believe that ushering classical musicians would add to the diversity of the musical spectrum in Steemit, and would help it grow. After all, classical musicians also have their own following, which would give more exposure to Steemit. This is something that my friend and I are planning to do this after we gain more experience here, then we plan on inviting musician friends to this place (in the internet).

Another project I’d like to do in the future concerns music literacy. I’d like to make a community for music educators to connect, sharing their knowledge and supporting each other. And with them launch a project to support music literacy programs for communities and underprivileged children.

For now, these are just plans. But in the future, I hope my friend and I can implement them.

I am going to launch a series of videos and info on how anybody can flip houses without any of their own money, or credit. Basically, I am gonna give away the information that all those late night infomercials claim to give out. (after they suckered you out of 30k ofcourse.

I will be covering :
How to properly price a property
How to find deals
How to lock up the deals under contract
How to find buyers
How to exit the deal for cash to a buyer
WITHOUT ANY MONEY OUT OF POCKET !

It can literally make somebody who is broke put 10k in their bank account, then rinse and repeat the process.

This is the basis of our marketing model. we just need to keep posting about our activities, then we can pay back the costs of the tsihrts, caps, flyers, fuel, transport etc. We are trying to demonstrate that this way of doing it works, so that we can set the example for others to get involved. slowly now, more people are starting to contact us about doing this so its exciting times, also this week we plan to make a couple of large announcements to help others promote steemit, and find the best people in order to provide them with funding to get their promotions off the ground!

I’m planning on starting a project towards the poor people in Paksitan . I wanted to be able to at least get a bag of rice and wheat for their family . There are so many poor neighborhoods around me and I’m going back in March. I wanted to be able to feed a few families but I feel like no one wants to support the project

Dear cryptoctopus,

@jpphotography, @rimicane, @adonisabril and us (Mike and Jürgen) are spearheading a project that will improve the experience for those creating or looking for travel-related content on Steemit.

The current hashtag #travel is dominated by accounts with high voting power. While there is nothing particularly wrong with that, it does shove lesser-known authors with good content under the fold. These authors should be recognized for their efforts and their high-quality content made visible to a larger audience.

This is why we have created the account @travelfeed to curate and upvote a daily round-up of selected articles with the hashtag #travelfeed that our content curators have deemed of high value. This will motivate authors to produce quality content as well as help to convince established travel bloggers to switch to Steemit.

We felt we should start @travelfeed after seeing how successful @photofeed has become in such a short time. You're making a real difference in bringing great photography to Steemit, and we aim to do the same for travel content.

Travelfeed is almost all ready to go but we're waiting to be able to add at least one big backer to our introduction post and we're really hoping it would be you.

But for now we've started a Discord Group for other travelers on Steemit and gained a decent of users: https://discord.gg/HQjJmYw

@criticker | Feb. 6, 2018, 8:02 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

What a great opportunity to introduce our internet love child Criticker! Tank you cryptoctopus.

We've been working on our site @criticker now for over 10 years. We started out to give our users the best movie recommendations on a very accurate algorithm. We love our users and we also built a strong movie community over the years which appreciates movies outside of the Hollywood main drag. Some of the users have been around since the beginning.

We're having a hard time though to monetize our website without selling our soul. Our main goal is to give accurate recommendations but without the influence of big supporters or sponsors who might be having an interested on how we predict the taste of our users.

On top of it, our users are very savvy and won't ever click on any buy links or ads. But we do offer them to pay for a subscription which will give them extra features and an ad free site.

We're just two people who maintain the website and to introduce new features. Over the years we added TV series recommendations and now just recently an entire new section for Gaming (which includes also board games). But we could now easily extend to all kind of different recommendations like books, music or fragrance :) .

Over the years we've been debating if we should continue with Criticker, it's very time consuming and it barely returns enough for even one person to make a living. But we could never abandon our baby.

So when we heard about Steemit and the SMT (which we would love to implement asap) we signed up right away and hope for our users to follow us along. We already have some fun movie related games within our Criticker Forums but we think it would be incredible to run them here on Steemit which would reward our users.

We would also love to start curate longer reviews here on Steemit which would our current users love, since on our site we only allow mini reviews!

Anyways, this is getting long but it would be incredible if we would have you has one of our supporters here on Steemit. Because starting out here is def. not easy.

I plan to develop a social project, any society that shares a social movement for the people in need of we will help their activities.

Many people have done social activities and many also share original writings in Steemit about their activities. So I think they are worthy of respect.

Typically, social activities to help that require a lot are done by students or young intellectuals who are studying at university. So, they are able to write good at Steemit.

Currently we are educating students and students about Steemit. In addition to studying and social service, then they can share their knowledge and social service in Steemit, and they are also faster able to speak internationall.

Why I'm doing this? Because, I volunteer at 2015 until now. Thanks @cryptoctopus. You are very care about project development

@rachelrick | Feb. 6, 2018, 9:22 a.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

First of all,
Thank you @cryptooctopus for giving people a chance to introduce their projects.

I'm currently involved with Promo-mentors. A platform of mentors and curators that have helped me greatly improve on my writing and given me guidance.

I can honestly say, i would have ben lost om steemit without the encouragement i have received from this platform.

These mentors and curators search out promising writers and water them, helping them grow and improve on themselves like they did with me. I had a Rep of 41 when i found them, and being amongst them has been wonderful so far.

I think they matter because they give hope to promising authors thy have been receiving minimal rewards for awesome content. Not only do they reward promising authors but they offer mentorship and guidance and a place to relate with other promising writers like yourself

Promo-mentors greatly improves the steem block chain because when it takes a writer under it's wing, it helps build and make that writer a better steemian therefore dissauding substandard or crappy content on steemit and encouraging better and quality content.

I can say for one that it has kept some promising authors from quitting steemit.

As always @cryptoctopus, a wonderful idea.

I just forwarded this post to someone I know is putting together a program to help newer people (along with the site). He wants to do some advertising along with a minnow "reward" program where some undervalued posts, but of high quality, are upvoted by curators who seek that stuff out.

It is a sensational idea if it works. I know there are a lot of minnow support programs but this is to isolate 5-10 posts a day and hit them with some pretty good voting power.

@oyvindsabo | Feb. 6, 2018, 3:54 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

I'm working on the idea of creating an auto-aggregated news site based on Steemit-post with in the "news" tag. In short, it will just be a very limited version of Steemit, but with some pretty extensive quality control algorithms.

I got inspired to create this, because news these days seem to be driven by sensationalism rather than truth.

Since the site will work as an interface to the Steem-blockchain, readers have access to the same info on the writers as we have on Steemit. The site will also state clearly that it's based on Steem, thus sparking an interest for Steem in the reader's mind. The question here isn't necessarily how this will help Steem, but rather how Steem will help the world.

The project is in its really early stages (I'm still familiarizing myself with the Steem API), so at the moment there is not much to upvote, but who knows, one day...

Hello @crytoctopus. I'm fikri i would like to tell about my project. Before that I tell you about my self. I studying in a college in my country, I take multimedia and networking of my program study. So I studied one of many knowledge that is embedded system. In this course, I studied about computer basically, like biner, decimal, hexadecimal, octal. So at the final course, I make a project that is arduino's project, entitled "electrical's key. So I buy tools that which is useful to assembling, like arduino's board, miffare key(sensor), card sensor, jumper's cable, buzzer, led, protoboard etc. Then I assembled that tool to one project, then upload a program to arduino's board. And I did it.

This project is matter for me, cause many people using this sensor at each of doors, like house's door, hotel's door, office's door, school's door and where ever door use this sensor so the doors is safe, can't enter anyone else the one have I card sensor. And also many of sensor which suitable for arduino's board, like gas sensor, ultrasonic and many if sensor can be suitable for arduino's board.

This project is contributing to the black chain. Thanks.

Best regards fikri

@cryptoctopus I was very delighted when I saw this opportunity to talk about a project I am involved in here on steemit. The name of the project is the @bund project. It is a very fresh and new project that aims to open up lots of frontiers for lots of steemians. It has a huge goal to promote steemit hence bring in new creatives to the platform. This project would mentor and guide those new creatives on how to find their way around here as well as show them what community really feels like. It would also engage in curation of lots of awesome contributions on this platform. I am really honoured to be a part of this project as I have really benefitted from the community. It has shown me what COMMUNITY really feels like and I cant wait to see what the future would bring . Cheers!!

My project is DPorn, the future to the NSFW section of the STEEM blockchain.

What is Dporn?

Dporn is a Decentralized porn blockchain platform dedicated to the porn industry and the users who watch porn.

It is where the world's multi-billion industry can easily and equally share the rewards with its users for posting and curating. You can watch any kind of porn for free – but, get paid to do so too.

It will improve steem by being the hub of a better NSFW explorer where you get paid to watch porn!

Hi @cryptoctopus, been thinking about pitching my project to you for 2 days. I wish to be committed in Steemit, engage more with people here. This project will ensure my highest commitment as the project leader. Although my proposed project may seem little among mega achievers here, will just shoot out to you what I think can work logically for me and my targeted audience i.e those newbies and that not need too much capital to start. Here we go...

1- Tell me about your project (or a project you are involved in)
I have around 1800+ followers, mostly newbies. I wanna start a simple engagement activities that I will give anyone who can respond to my post with good comments and engage with each other throughout that week, a certain sbd amount. As my power have not reached level where I can upvote handsomely, so I will count their engagements that are good, accumulated it and then I will pay them the total amount at the end of each week through my wallet.
2- Why do you think it matters
I feel so lonely here. The community is not united, this will definitely influence those newbies to behave same. Most of the time I feel we are just minding our own business. There's nothing bad about that, just that I feel they need someone to unite them and I wish to be a leader in this effort.
3- How is your project contributing to increase the value of the steem blockchain
A united community that is well connected will make the steem blockchain stronger.

Thanks @cryptoctopus for considering my pitch, have a pleasant day 😊😊

Thank you for caring and encouraging so many newbies... Hi @genxrev, I have visited many newbies pages that posted good contents but went unnoticed. On other notes, it's worrying to see some newbies get flagged to oblivion for being naive about the rules. When we are connected, we can support each other and give advise to those whose in need. Thanks so much for the support in this pitch. I am so happy you feel the same. This wired world is decentralised but we can centralise ourselves when we are united. Have a pleasant day.

I am working on a project to bring Steemit to my community! It is important because we are seeing a massive surge in awareness about cryptocurrencies, and Steemit is the perfect starter crytpo ( as well as sleeping giant) with very low risk, allowing people to earn for their creativity. I have been Steem Posting about the concept to build a crypto lounge for my theatre, and over the last year it has become so much more. I have manufactured DSC-USB devices as basic hardware wallets to teach my Darkflame Studios Network Producers about Bitcoin key security. Keep it offline! The most basic level, I am teaching people about Wallets and Exchanges, how to purchase and Hodl. On the next level, I am working with local creative entrepreneurs to build a new theatre here in Alberta! Darkflame Studios has transitioned from www.DarkflameEarth.com to www.MyDarkflame.net a fully SteemConnect and Busy powered website for creative writers, content producers, and anyone who wants to be a Patron of a new kind of theatre. You can sign in with your active key, and explore all the excellent features built into http://connect.mydarkflame.net! As I continue to build Audio Video portfolios in my community to gain support to build Darkflame Studios, I am recommending Steemit as a neccecary platform to all, and will be growing my small Pod of minnows Team Esteemed from current 53 to over 500. I am really excited to support the Steemit community and the future of this blockchain. I have also setup @DesignPod as the official account for Darkflame Design Foundations, and any Patron Donations of SBD sent to that account will be used for the Theatrical Production Season! The MinersPost Crypto Lounge project is moving along nicely, but I am seeking more support and would love to work more directly with you this year @cryptoctopus!! Specifically this week I have been thinking about going out with my camera to promote Steemit, but it has been minus -34'C outside, its terribly chilly. I would love to hear your ideas! I hope this answers your three questions. I think this project matters, because I am trying to etablish a new level of class and style for theatre in a modern age with technology. Steemit is that missing piece that I hoped would one day allow us to sort through the best information and work on the best ideas. I take Steemit very seriously here in Canada, and as 3 million Albertans begin to discover this amazing tool, we will see some real fireworks. That is why this matters. This is my life's dream as well, so I am fully committed to seeing my vision through for as long as it takes.

I would like to focus on seasonal productions.

From Musical Theatre to Heavy Metal; Dancers & Actors and also guest Speakers.

Hi @cryptoctopus
the project I run is "minnow to minnow"
minnow to minnow is a project to support minnow, minnow is now often complaining because of limited bandwidth
I delegate some of my SP to the minnow selected on my project, I delegate it for one week

Limited bandwidth makes them feel reluctant to be active on this platform
so minnow eventually leaves the platform, whereas the main target of the steemit platform is, as a media learning blockchain for beginners
with the hope that minnow understands and is interested in staying on the platform
I do not know if the "minnow to minnow" project appeals to you
Thank you for your time :)

Hi @cryptoctopus, I am not really pitching a project as such, but just want to get your thoughts on this initiative that I have just started recently and want to expand it further.

  1. The Steemtopia Network of Learning is a project that I started to promote steemians to teach and learn from each other on topics that are relevant to the community.
  2. I think we rely too much on posting and upvotes to create value in this community (and to earn an income) when the value is in the knowledge and skills that the people here can share and exchange.
  3. I believe that this will promote the sharing of ideas and collaboration so that new comers can quickly gain confidence and a following built on the connections that they build with other steemians, not just by following and upvoting.

I’ll be rolling out my project soon and I hope EVERYBODY loves it.

I will be giving away children’s books and writing a column named Children’s Literacy Advocates.

My goal is to get more books into the hands of ALL children regardless of income.

I’ve already purchased a set of books. My plan is to give them away from my blog. Any SBD generated by the post will go towards purchasing more books.

hey Renaud,

I don't have a particular project, however just posted a fairly large-scale idea for Steem's development that could use some assistance in sharing with others higher up on the food chain here who might be in a position to implement (parts of) it:

The $1 Billion Steem Development Fund: How Steemit Inc.'s Stake Could Be Best Allocated To Grow A Thriving Network Of Applications And Users...

IF this sounds like something you feel would be of benefit to further the discussion on, it'd be much appreciated if you could help pass this on to anyone in positions of influence who might be able to do something with/about it.

cheers, mate. and Happy New Year! 🙏

Rok

@cryptoctopus this is just a total trip reading all these replies to your offer! I will have to come back after some rest to keep reading. I am a newbie and do not have a big project going, but I keep thinking about the possibility of running a college-level course on Steemit. The idea is that if a teacher isn’t good, then students will sign up. And instead of going into debt to take a class, the students actually make a few bucks via the teacher and classmates providing peer review and feedback as comments, with upvotes being shared to reward helpful comments. I teach communication classes, and it would be cool to do a steemit public speaking class that involves students posting speeches to dtube. Still just a seed of a thought but who knows.

Why do I think this would matter? Well, higher ed is a mess, for many reasons. We have the technology to stop calling classes live, hybrid and online and just provide learning in the most pedagogically effective ways, but administrations are stuck in the Stone Age. Costs of running institutions are unsustainable. Motivating students to engage learning in traditional ways is becoming less and less effective and relevant (I have been in higher ed for 30 years). Moving a game theory system with financial incentive for the student is then future. Instead of leaving college in debt, all the work a student completes could be proof of staked, and instead she’s could leave with a nest egg!

How would this increase the value of the Steem blockchain? It would help develop an entirely new franchise to be run on it. It would drive membership. It would produce valuable and interesting content in the form of product being generated by active learners and accessible to the entire community.

Well, it's humble, but I believe I do add to the value here and am working REALLY hard to be an asset to the community. I'm an artist generally, but my main "thing" is my music, and eventually also more of my poetry. I've been doing music full-time for years, and Steemit has been an amazing place to find community and grow, but I could use some help getting more traction so I can commit more full-time to the platform. Obviously, I wouldn't still be doing my art unless I was fully committed because it's been HARD for years, but at the end of the day, I have to find a way to pay the bills with it. I love what Steem is about and would be fascinated to be a part of the growth arc in the coming exciting months through contributing professional content. As Youtube and Facebook have been the cradles of so many great artists, I would love to be able to say one day that I got my real "start" on Steemit.

I'm hoping it's self-evident that professional level talent is valuable to the platform (I've worked seriously in the music industry in the US and the UK over years, and many, many people have said how much my work means to them), as other successful platforms have always benefitted from the excellence individual members bring to the table.

Specifically with my work, I am most convicted about offering beauty and real art, and am finding Steemit is a community that tends to value these things more than elsewhere; I'd love to be able to facilitate that excellence I see so often here and even help to increase Steemit's reputation as a creative and intelligent platform (which in many ways I have seen here in exciting ways).

Here is one of my original songs that I posted and won first place with in the Open Mic a few weeks ago: https://steemit.com/openmic/@kayclarity/steemit-open-mic-week-66-original-song-forever-by-kay-clarity.

Thanks for letting me pitch this, and for taking the time to listen and considering supporting my work. I'm hopeful! xx, Kay

Wow.. You sure do have a lot to read on this thread! I can see why, that's awesome what you're doing for the community and I'm sure a lot of people appreciate your efforts!

I'll try to keep this as short as possible cause I see you've got so much of a response and so much to read already..

I recently started a contest/competition a little over two weeks ago on here which I named the IFC or Information Finding Championship.

The idea is sort of like.. The UFC, except instead of physically fighting people are using their minds solve puzzles or to come up with the best artwork or ideas or whatever the subject happens to be, and I'm trying to incorporate charitable sorts of contests as well.. :)

For example one of our rounds is to go help steemit beginners and whoever does the best job of welcoming and helping someone who is new to steemit wins that round.

I myself am not generally or particularly good at asking for help, though.. I think this contest idea is really important in a LOT of ways and we have a good amount of passionate and active participants who unfortunately sometimes they only make a couple steem or less each round usually because me and my dolphin friends can only do so much.

In fact, I was just working on a contest for our tournament that was sort of the opposite of the help a beginner quest and it's one to help find a sponsor for the tournament to help us grow and reward our members better, so I might as well lead by example and try myself as well to find someone to help sponsor the tournament!

I wish I could offer these people who play in the contest more.. But.. I just can't so when I noticed your offer.. It was like a serendipitous synchronistic kind of thing and I just had to try to ask and pitch our idea.

One cool thing about the contest is we are having custom artwork drawn up of the winner and the judges, and in the future.. Hopefully more of the regulars and guest judges as well, we're really trying to set up a sort of virtual world with a culture and history and hall of fame mixed with a role playing game aspect that also blurs/merges into real life as well..

Even one single upvote from you would probably help a lot! I hope you will consider our entry as I'm largely doing this to give back to the community myself as well, it's very time consuming and I'm making very little steem off of this and giving back over 200 steem to the community this round alone, and I plan on doing this for years if steemit is still going strong..

I do admit I'm also partly doing this contest to gain more followers to my blog so I can reach more people with my artwork and educational material, but.. It's mostly coming from a place of wanting to give back to the community and a passion for the idea of the contest which is very deep in some ways which continue to surprise me as time goes on.

All things considered, I think this contest will survive even without much help from anyone else due to the 150 steem grand prize, yet.. If I got the help of even one whale like yourself.. It would make this contest so much more rewarding for everyone involved and it would help the contest grow a lot as well!

I really do think someday it might be a very popular contest here on steemit, and I'm not the only one.. Me and others who I've talked to about it think this idea is INCREDIBLY deep and I really do feel like there is a ton of potential here, but I don't wanna flood you with too much text! So I'll end it here and you can go to this link below if you want to learn more. Or you can also ask me any questions! Feel free. I'd be happy to answer.

By the way, the rules are still a bit confusing and we're going through birth pangs just getting started, but I hope to have a lot of this stuff much more refined and orderly really soon and there's already a good amount of players actively playing with 7 rounds under our belt so far.

Thank you for reading this and considering it if you did! And once again.. I'd like to say thank you for the opportunity and that I think it is pretty awesome of you to try to give back to the community so much the way you are doing! Cheers @cryptoctopus :)

Hey just saw this post, I know its late hopefully you take a look. As creatives ourselves we are extremely passionate about our initiative and hope you see value in it as well!

1.Our initiative breaks down into 3 goals
--Connect more artists and their artwork with the community through the tag #stateofthearts art feed
--Provide easy, effective, and profitable exposure for you our fellow steemians
--Create a fun, exciting, weekly incentive to continually grow artist involvement on Steemit

  1. This matters because its a common trend on social media that creatives are over saturated and never have the opportunity to have their art seen by others. We want to provide a way to link artists and provide opportunities for no name (minows) steemians to gain the exposure they deserve.

  2. This will contribute to the growth of the steemit blockchain because it will continue to strengthen the creative activity on steemit as well as provide opportunities for new users and veteran users to link up. It creates a community for artists to upvote, comment, and encourage each other.

We hope you find value in our initiative
