A few more Big Beautiful Boulders to show you. Today, I am highlighting the black & whites, arguably they look more rugged vs the colours. What do you think? These boulders can be found near the town of Okotoks, Alberta (Just south of Calgary). Okotoks is a Blackfoot word meaning “Big rocks”, and they certainly are Big. I really wonder if they were actually deposited here by a receding glacier or not. Perhaps they came here by a more esoteric means. We may never know. Thanks for stopping by.

I like both, but what is more interesting to me is the history of these rocks. I am curious of its origin. Thank you for these rock formations that you shared.

Yes, the history is very interesting as well. These boulders look so unusual on these flat lands.

The mountains look beautiful and the cuts that are attached to the mountain make it even more beautiful. I have often read that mountains are very old. Is there any way to know how old this mountain is?

@daveks | June 10, 2025, 5 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

I suppose one could use "carbon dating" to determine the age of these boulders. Not sure how accurate that would be though.

Thanks for information.

This one looks like a fungi, or a cut tree, it's so strange and fascinating

The black and white give a old vibe to them, giving perception of its age

What's their size? I mean any picture with a human near it?

@daveks | June 10, 2025, 5:03 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

I would estimate it to be about 25-30 feet tall. It does sort of look like a cut tree as you say!!

@davideownzall | June 10, 2025, 5:29 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

I had to convert to meter 😅 well that's pretty tall!

The first and second rock in your post are very rugged indeed, but I can say that the last is better than the other,in the sense that the last rock will be climbed easily compare to the others. Your pictures are very beautiful ♥️👍.

No doubt about that. Thanks as always.

The rocks are look really amazing @daveks. Meanwhile, I prefer the coloured to the 'black and white'. I love the black and white too, but I prefer the coloured.

@thebighigg | June 10, 2025, 10:18 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Glaciers couldn't do that, it was aliens! lol I'm sure it was glacial being that far north. The are pretty cool, great pictures!

@daveks | June 11, 2025, 5:10 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Are you saying you don't believe in aliens lol?

@thebighigg | June 11, 2025, 5:19 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

UFO's yes, I do believe. Aliens is whole different thing and I'm not so convinced on that one! I have personally seen UFO's three times, but never seen an alien...

@daveks | June 12, 2025, 6:06 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

So the big question is: What is inside them or who is controlling it!

@thebighigg | June 12, 2025, 7:45 p.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

Who knows? Trans-dimensional beings that exist in our same space but in a different dimension? An ancient civilization from earth that live in the deep oceans? Could they be from somewhere else? Maybe, but the distance is so large it's hard to imagine anyone wanting to cross it just to find our tiny planet. Or maybe it's China with some new tech that we don't have, that would be the scariest option...

@daveks | June 13, 2025, 5:23 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Time will tell. Disclosure is coming I assume.

@iamlovelykate | June 11, 2025, 2:50 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

They give off this moody, almost ancient vibe.Kinda makes you wonder about the stories behind them

@daveks | June 11, 2025, 5:11 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

Timeless you might say. I wonder how long they have been here for...

@itsmemic | June 11, 2025, 5:31 a.m. | Votes: 1 | [ VOTE ]

These boulders are seriously giving off ancient guardian vibes! I agree, the black and white really brings out that rugged, timeless feel.
