Hi everyone. I only joined Hive via ListNerds a week or so ago, and I'm still overwhelmed by it. This is just my first post to say hi.
So instead of boring you with my whole life story which is far from extraordinary, I will just briefly tell you who/what I am.

I can smile.
Happily Married Gay
I'll be 58 this year. Born in Japan, moved to the UK when I was 23, and I've been with my English husband since 2007. We live in London with a 4-year-old Jack Russell.
I Was An Alcoholic Accountant
I'm a recovering alcoholic - battled all my life. I quit drinking (again) around 2011-2012 for the 3rd time because I had to take a few important accountancy exams at the time. I've been sober since.
I'm An Asperger
I may have ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). I was supposed to be officially diagnosed by a specialist in early 2020, which was then cancelled due to the pandemic.
It makes sense because I'm a weirdo when it comes to verbal communications - I'm a super-friendly, peacemaker guy, but I'm not very good at spontaneous, heated conversations.
Semi-Retired
I quit my job as an accountant 6 years ago and my husband's also taken early retirement. I work part-time from home doing some marketing, designing, and occasionally accountancy when a job comes in.
Taking Thing Easy...Old Age Sucks But OK
There are fewer things we can do each day as we get older, you know. Every morning we go out for a couple of hours then come home because we need to pee (bladder control! Old age sucks. 🤣)
I know it sounds cliché but my husband & I tell each other to embrace each day and enjoy life as much as we can because we don't know how much longer we have left. We're both healthy (reasonably!) but we're definitely in the latter third of life. Anything could happen.
I don't intend to drink ever again because if I do next time, I'll probably die. And I can't be bothered to find out if I really am ASD or not. It doesn't matter to me now - if I am, I am.

I'm not sure how often I can publish this blog because I write incredibly slow. And I also spend my time updating my old site cybercashworldwide.com which at least generates extra income for now. I've still no idea about Hive, I'm enjoying learning about it right now, and will continue trying.
That's it for my introduction. Thanks for reading!
Ray
p.s. Thank you all for your comments, sorry if I haven't replied, that's because I don't have enough...points?? I definitely will over time!
Give Hive a chance to grow on you, Hive doesn't care if you write slow or even snail slow, if you posts are sincere and thoughtful, you'll be amazed at the rewards and I'm not talking just money here.
For your introduction post, you should have used these tags as well: #introduceyourself and/or #introducemyself, it gets more people more chances to see your post.
I'm tagging here @traciyork and @lovesniper so that your post could be considered for OCD curation.
I joined ListNerds about a month ago, I'm still learning but for sure you don't want to let go of this one, you'll make some mistakes on the way but we all did.
Other than that, WELCOME and ENJOY!
Voted on ListNerds!

Welcome to the Hive community @dd01a!
We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and have found a new home here.
Seven suggestions to consider:
1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, and Hivesigner,
3. The master password and the owner key are only used to reset compromised passwords,
4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
7. DO NOT OPEN any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.
I found you because @brittandjosie and @jamerussell from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.
If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Hiveans available who can help you; you can click to go to The Terminal in Discord here:
Have fun and happy Hiving!
Cool post. I think it's very brave and cool that you put yourself out there and tell us all there is to tell (for now hehe). And great job being sober for this long.
I come from a family of alcoholics, with 2 siblings and two parents who were all heavy drinkers at some stage but made it sound like it was just 'recreational' drinking.
My father actually quit when I was quite young, and managed to 'just' drink during some occasions, maybe twice a year. My mother was the kind of person who'd 'only' drink two glasses of wine each evening. But the glass was big enough to empty the bottle...
My brother was the worst. He was a functioning alcoholic though. Drinking every single day of his life, since he was 17, but never missed a day of work. So I was very surprised and impressed that around 6 years ago, he drank his last drink, and has been sober since.
If he could do it, then everyone can.
So major respect for you!
As for your possible ASD, I think it doesn't matter at all whether you have the diagnosis or not. I've been through the whole thing myself, and I don't need a stamp of approval to know who I am haha. My youngest son would definitely be diagnosed with one or the other if tested but I chose not to do anything. He's great the way he is, there's no need for 'professionals' to tell me that.
Anyway, thanks for sharing this, and a little bit about your life, and welcome to Hive & Listnerds!
