Job 39:1-4
>Do you know the month when mountain goats give birth?
Have you ever watched a doe bear her fawn?
Do you know how many months she is pregnant?
Do you know the season of her delivery,
when she crouches down and drops her offspring?
Her young ones flourish and are soon on their own;
they leave and don’t come back.
In that part of the world, and in that point of
human history, people were much more aware of the
natural world around them than we are today. So it's
very likely that Job had observed mountain goats and
does giving birth and that he knew those things
happened at roughly the same time every year. While
Job may have had some general knowledge of the fact
that wild animals reproduced at the same time of year,
each year, he seemed to need to be reminded that those
things took place away from the protection or care of
any human shepherd. Rather, they occurred under the
watchful eye of the God who created them.
Jesus once spoke about the wonder of wild birds
finding enough food to sustain themselves, and that
apart from any human intervention on their part...
Matthew 6:26
>26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not,
neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet
your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much
better than they?
Nature is filled with many wonderful examples of
the creativity and care of our heavenly Father. The
next time you observe the wonders of the natural
world, stop and ponder this amazing truth: God has
made all this and provides for His creations. And He
does the same thing for me!
