Anyone who has ever read my blog —and believe it or not, some do—will already know that I regard government as the root of all evil and reserve the right to ignore all rules other than those my conscience demands that I obey. It’s not as if I haven’t been repeating the same thing over and over, ad nauseam almost every week for the nine long years I’ve spent on this blockchain.

I do not vote, never have and thus do not consider myself bound by government or their ridiculous ever-changing- on -a -whim rules. If you wish to participate in that charade, dear reader, and feel that you need to be governed I have no objection whatsoever, but please do not endlessly complain when you inevitably get the government you deserve. It’s not my fault!

Government, in my view, exists exclusively for those who fear the responsibility that comes with freedom, and for those who believe that without rules, regulations, and officials to tell us which way is up, we'd be utterly confused, running around in circles before eventually descending into chaos. I need no such guidance. My innate sense of right and wrong—the one we are all born with—serves me perfectly well, thank you very much.

Ask yourself this: if you woke tomorrow morning to discover that every law had been repealed and that murder, theft, and robbery were suddenly A-OK, would you immediately steal your neighbour’s car and speed off down the road knocking over every pedestrian you encountered along the way?

Of course you wouldn’t. It’s not the law that stops us doing these things. Nobody commits a crime expecting to be caught!

It's my contention that without corrupt governments to steal from us, lie to us, and live off us like parasites, we'd get along rather better than we do now and, left to our own devices, we'd all live happily ever bloody after.

In the perfect world.....

It is true our government has gone all to crap.

I wouldn't like a lawless world though, because there are too many people that don't mind being criminals. No, I wouldn't steal my neighbor's car, but they might steal mine. If it would then be ok for me to shoot them for doing it, I might reconsider. LOL! I mean, if there is no law, there must still be consequences as deterrents... right?

Back to the Wild, Wild West! .... or the Hatfields and Mccoys!

I have been burgled four times, mugged twice, robbed at gunpoint twice and had my car torched outside my house. If I had not spent my life paying half of my earnings to government, I could have afforded private security and still be quids in. We’re conditioned to believe that without government and law, society would descend into criminality. The older I get, the more I suspect that in reality quite the opposite is the case.

Good Lawd! That's a lot of burgling and mugging!

If you live in Dublin's inner city as I did for most of my life, I'd say they're fairly normal statistics. On a happier note, since I moved to the country I've experienced no crime at all!:)

Yikes! Such a shame that it can be called "normal" anywhere.

Glad you made the escape!

Of course you can't, because like myself, you see things as they are and not as we're conditioned to see them.

I have no objection whatsoever; it is nature itself that dictates what is right and wrong, and that works perfectly well for me too. On the contrary, it is governments that create chaos, division, lies and everything else. That duality should not exist. Julius Caesar said: ‘Divide and conquer’... that is what governments do: chaos and destruction.

It seems like every government turns into a burden at some point. There is merit to the idea to have specialists run certain parts of a highly complex system that is automatically in place when a society grows too much. While I do have some experience in organizing, I wouldn't know how to organize a healthcare system on a community basis. Education to a certain point, yes, but university level? Research? I do not trust in the "invisible hand" of capitalism either. So, I'm stuck with very deficient governments - or just try and see what happens. But I don't trust in humans enough for that experiment, either. As you can read, I haven't found a path yet. For now, it's a mix of much community organization with some reliance on the government.

@deirdyweirdy | June 1, 2026, 3:40 p.m. | Votes: 4 | [ VOTE ]

One of my objections to government is that none of us has ever been given the opportunity to discover what life might be like without it. Another is that systems which could be relatively simple, are often made unnecessarily complex, to justify the existence of those tasked with administering them.

I spent some forty years in business and perhaps I was fortunate with the people I employed, but my management philosophy was to lay down some basic rules...get the job done without shafting anyone...and then leave people to find their own way of achieving this. The reward was a share in the profits at the end of each quarter as acknowledgement of a job well done. It worked like a dream. Nobody skived, and everyone pulled their weight. Why wouldn't they? Their earnings depended on it, as did their standing within the team. We worked bloody hard, all for one and one for all and we had great fun doing it.

My view is that we live on a people farm. From the moment we're born, we're taught to believe ourselves incapable of managing our own affairs or looking after one another without expert intervention. We're encouraged to doubt our own judgment and place our faith in systems instead. We're demoralised, poisoned and mind-controlled, all funded by our own hard-earned cash.

I know this sounds simplistic but throughout my life I've seen countless examples of trust in people, giving them freedom and treating them like adults producing incredible dividends.

Or perhaps I'm just a superb leader of men!:)

@beelzael | June 1, 2026, 4:14 p.m. | Votes: 0 | [ VOTE ]

As you know, my management style is very similar. And yet I still encounter many people that do not get that. Not every culture is set for individual problem solving. When I read a lot of anarchism books, I absolutely believed it was possible, by looking at the people around me - those with the same ideas and similar values. But as soon as I went out of that bubble, reality was different than what I thought. I don't think it's that simple anymore, there are many factors that play into it.

If you look at failed states, there's a lot of room for people to self-organize and prosper that way. But some organize in a peaceful way, constructively from my point of view, and others engage in violence against those. Both groups are self-organized. And although only one is sustainable (the raiders will die when there's nothing left to raid), both exist. And I don't think that will ever change, neither through education nor anything else.

@deirdyweirdy | June 1, 2026, 4:48 p.m. | Votes: 2 | [ VOTE ]

Perhaps as you say it's a cultural thing. We have no European 'failed states' to serve as examples, and I've only ever employed Europeans.

I have also stopped voting in the selections. They are all a load of idiots and if they aren't going in they become one as they soon tow the party line. I think big change will happen all over the world because of the wars in Ukraine and Iran. Hopefully, it will lead to a new way of doing things.

I guess our world views are shaped by experience. Maybe that's why I disagree with you. When I read Lord of the Flies I recognized Jack and Roger. I knew these boys. This to me is the natural order. This to me is society without external controls.

I believe government is corrupt and abusive and confiscatory. But Roger is out there. And so is Jack. How do I know? I have met them :)) I have lived with them.

Surely, when I pass the poor box, I don't take a penny. Most people I know would not. But Roger and Jack...if no one is looking they will throw that box to the ground and take everything.

This is what my life experience has taught me.

I need them, Roger and Jack, to fear government. It's the only way I know to control them.

So sorry to disagree...

@deirdyweirdy | June 2, 2026, 8:38 a.m. | Votes: 4 | [ VOTE ]

If there's one thing we're all still entitled to, it's our own opinions—although, here in Europe, governments seem increasingly keen to police even these.

I grew up in some of the roughest parts of Dublin and knew plenty of Rogers and Jacks . If I thought for a moment that these boys were deterred by government or the law, I'd be first in line at the ballot box but experience has proved to me otherwise. I won't bore you with stories of our local men trying to protect their neighbourhoods only to find the authorities taking Roger and Jack's side, or of people being pursued more vigorously for their political affiliations than for acts of violence, for, as you say, our world view is shaped by experience, and mine has convinced me that Roger and Jack rarely pay much attention to government or the law.
So no apologies necessary. Mutual respect is far more important and I think we do have that.

I am sooo with you on all of this, dear @deirdyweirdy !! Anyone who thinks we need govern-ment, pays taxes or plays power games with any kind of false 'authority' - whilst not respecting and honouring The Highest and The True Authority - is SUPER ignorant.

Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars is a text that explains the global and complete supression of humanity - if more people would be willing to read, and to do the hard work of researching what is always going on behind the scenes, there'd be a hell of a lot less support for our 'ments' being 'governed'.
And don't get me started about how folks have been brainwashed into deathly-fearing their fellow man, who they ultimately believe to be potentially evil psychopathic murders... whilst - so f#!!ing ironically simultaneously paying the wages of Really evil psychopaths who actually and specifically wish the majority of you dead*

Wake up, sleepy heads!
