The not so "ordinary bike"
I am sure that you have seen this type of a bike before. It is called a Penny Farthing and was popular in the 1870s and 1880s. The name comes from the British penny and farthing coins because one of them is much larger than the other is and the tires resemble the penny leading the farthing coin. It also goes by the name Ordinary Bike.
I was asked to take some photographs for this guy because he rides this bike in parades and wanted some professional photographs done that he could submit to the parades when he applies to be in them.

If you were to see someone riding down the trail on one of these things, I am sure you would do a double take because this is not something you see every day, or probably even once a year.
I tried to ride it after the photo shoot was over and it is pretty hard to ride because that front wheel is HUGE and you have to open your legs wide when you make a turn. Getting off of it is also a challenge.
