While it might not quite be the year of the dragon just yet, we were very excited to welcome 2024 with a fire and water show from the Dragon Bridge that crosses the River Hàn in Da Nang, Vietnam.

We were considering watching some fireworks elsewhere, but while fireworks are used globally to celebrate New Year, where else can you celebrate with a dragon breathing fire?

This show isn't only on New Year's Eve, however, and can be witnessed any Friday, Saturday or Sunday at 9 pm. The bridge closes for a few minutes, and the show lasts around 10 minutes. At first, the dragon will breathe fire before it starts to spit water on the crowds below.

If you're travelling to Vietnam or looking for a place to celebrate the next New Year or Lunar New Year, I highly recommend Da Nang (although every city has something unique to offer!).
