Yeeeeeah! Bitcoin's crash helped spark the crypto selloff in January. I think it could push to new levels and take the whole market along for a ride.
The next move up could be a real doozey! Hedge funds, mass adoption, easy ways for the public to get involved.... full STEEM ahead.

Some would argue its over or under priced at the moment.

The mempool has definitely cleared down significantly, and SegWit adoption grows higher every day it seems like. Clearly as the bulk of most addresses large web wallets, mining pools, and exchanges adoption makes a large impact.

SegWit doubles the block size, but the change may not be significant enough to keep transaction fees low as consumers, investors & speculators return to trade Bitcoins. Perhaps Lightning may address this more comprehensively in the future.

Why is this happening now. Segwit has been live for months. Trezor etc implemented it late last year (although btc needs to on a new address). This should certainly help moving forward.

About time. I think people saw the slow switch to segwit coming. Not many normies were ever going to create a segwit wallet when it happened. The developers don't have a good understanding of how business works. Grandma is not going to create a segwit wallet. Adoption is still only 16% of BTC transactions.
