Today I mourn a loss
As my heart breaks
I need my life on a pause
But I guess this is my cross

As I mourn my loss
I wonder; what is the fuss?
What have I become
As a result of my loss
I wish I could take back time
Do things better
Or better still do nothing

Was it worth it?
I would never know for sure
It is my choice and I stand by it
Brave to the end
like a soilder on duty
Holding on to hope
That I would be better for it

Not of things I had
But things I should have had
I mourn the happiness that should have been birthed

I mourn a loss
And desperately hope
My pain turns to gain
And that whatever gamble I took
Doesn't make me stumble

I mourn the loss of the old me
Potentials that died with her
The love I never basked in
