We've brought back the "Ithaqa" Steemit RPG! As always, I will send 1 steem to the winners!
HOW TO PLAY:
Pick A Faction: Investigators, Cultists, or Mythos Creatures (if you haven't already).
Comment below with your faction pick (or your pre-existing character). IE:
Pick a Starting Stat, and mention it in your comment: Mythos or Stamina
As your character wins or loses, your stats will go up or down, and that will add buffs or debuffs to your roll.
I will randomly match two players up via RNG.
I will roll dice (https://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm)
Winner of each match will be 100% Upvoted, earning you STEEM after 7 days.
All human characters will have a starting Sanity rating of 5, and every loss will cost 1 sanity point. If you get to 0, your character is insane! Start again! If you are a mythos creature, you will have a starting Power stat of 5, which functions the same way.

@jrej the bulky Investigator is walking down a dark, rain slicked Ithaca street. The usual sounds of the city on a Friday night suddenly seem to drop off. It's not that he feels a presence, @jrej feels a distinct LACK of activity, and it disquiets him. He feels a tingling between his temples, and realizes he is not alone in this back alley.
@nyarlathotep, "The Pallid Husk" steps out from the shadows. You can't see his face behind all the tattered yellow scraps of cloth he has wrapped around his face, you find yourself thinking that might be a blessing.
The Pallid Husk races his voice, and suddenly @jrej finds himself laughing uncontrollably!
@nyarlathotep rolls (15) + (16) = 31
@jrej rolls (9) + (7) = 16
The singing grows louder, and in turn the investigators laughter grows louder.
@nyarlathotep's mythos power grows to +1 @jrej's sanity drops to 4
You awake in the alley the next morning, a shook man, afraid to walk the streets alone at night.
It was a good hunt, again. @bryan-imhoff The Rat Thing has done well of late, a little TOO well, @effofex thinks, as they walk the Ithaca City sewer system, together.
Ever since their battle of wills, The Rat Thing has been eager to please. It has led @effofex to dozens of rat nests beneath the city, helping him find all the dripping life he will need for his next Big Working.
The full moon is only a few days away, will they be able to find enough warm furry bodies to strengthen @effofex's Essence?
Deeper into the sewers they go, and darker it gets. With each victory, they've been emboldened to go a little deeper in. The candles they brought along for the job are hardly up to the task. Thats when he notices the sound, little scurrying paws, somewhere in the blackness behind him.
@effofex grips the sack of squeaking bay rats a little tighter... they can't possibly understand what he's doing, they're just rats... right?
That's when he notices @bryan-imhoff, facing him, grinning. With a series of high pitched shrieks, @bryan-imhoff commands the rats TO ATTACK!!
@effofex rolls (8) + Mythos stat bonus(2) = 10
@bryan-imhoff rolls a 14
In the confusion @bryan-imhoff is able to sever the psychic link between them! In a flash, the Rat Thing is slipping into the shadows, between the pipes, under the foul water, and out of sight...
@effofex's candle has gone out... leaving him alone in the dark....
@effofex's sanity is reduced to 4
@bryan-imhoff's Mythos stat grows to +1

@paulavg the Mythos creature is stalking the woods of Ithaca at night. The air is crisp and cold. There is no moon out tonight, no painful light to bother her... That is until she feels it... Burning, itching, agonizing light, It's entering her woods!
@javo1096, aka Tulem Kolkochsky walks silently through the woods, a little Faerie light bobbing along behind him.
Tulem smells @paulavg before he sees her. A whiff of watermelon, strong, sweet, and yet beneath it, the smell of something sour...
He whirls around in time to see her charging down the hill in a mass of writhing tentacles and eyes!
@paulavg rolls a (8)
@javo1096 rolls a (15) + Resteem(10) = 25
@javo1096, Tulem channels his will into the Faerie light causing it to shine even brighter with a terrible radience. He utters the secret words, and soon @paulavg is completely disoriented.
Her dozens of eyes have been burned, she crawls pitifully back beneath the earth to lick her wounds, her power drops to 4.
@javo1096, Tulem has won, he gets a stat increase of Mythos +1 an I will send you 1 steem!
