• The home/type of parents. Unfortunately, i dare say some parents do not know the value of the children they have.

Will it be wrong for me to say 'they do not deserve to be parents?'.

That is why if you are not totally ready for parenting, it is best to stay away from it.
Every child deserves parental care and attention which should not be one sided or totally absent.

• The peer group/type of friends. This is highly dependent on the previous point.

What kind of friends do your children keep?

The kind of company a child keeps, reflects the home he or she is from i.e the attitude of their parents at home. Parents are models to their children and the attitude they display, serves as a guide to the choice of company their children keep.
Watch it, if your children keep bad company, check yourself as a parent to see where you might have failed in your duty or displayed unpleasant attitude.

Are you available for your children?

This is not for a mother or father alone. Both parents should be available for their children, giving them time, attention, love and care. Moulding them into the type of adults you want them to become.

• The school/quality of teachers and their attitude towards children.

If a particular school or set of teachers are going to undo the efforts you are putting in to train your children at home, then that school isn't worth it and you need to have a re-think.

Third Source

Teach a child the way he or she should go and when they grow, they will not depart from it.
this is the focus of edusteem:building a future for children who most likely do not have some or all of the points mentioned above and if not rescued, they may not have a good academic future.
