Butterflies are marvellous creatures. Beautiful and delicate. Wonders of nature.

You can practically see the facial expression of this little fellow. Was it surprised?

The patterns on its wings are different, on the upper and lower side.

What is perhaps even more surprising is that the photos were taken with a phone. Quite a decent outcome.

"Marvellous creatures", that are very difficult to photograph in my opinion.
I have complained about this many times here in my posts, telling how these animals (capricious princesses) literally play tricks on me and fly away just as I manage to focus them (with a phone or camera). But this year something has changed in their behavior and I managed to photograph quite a few of them in the garden too.
Your pictures are wonderful - to get so close to them is a great skill! It has trusted you and that is why it let you photograph it. 🙂
