Is NOT a new thing

In fact it could be argued that there has NEVER been an UN-augmented human. Augmentation is what MAKES us human. It's what separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom.

Oddly enough people don't tend to look at it that way.

Why?

The preponderance of evidence is overwhelming.

Possibly the FIRST human augmentation was clothing. Us naked apes don't do too well when it's very cold or very hot so we invented clothing to protect us from extreme changes in our environment.

Augmentation.

Or perhaps the first human augmentation was weapons. We got's them tiny leeetle teeth and or fingernails don't make very good claws...so we AUGMENTED. We made weapons.

Then there is thinking. That's been augmented for a very long time.
It's kinda hard to think without a language. Language is the most basic tool of thought. WHAT? You thought language was natural? Sorry to bust your bubble but it too is an invention.

Transportation, Writing and Books, Mathematics (another tool of thought). Sight (telescopes and eye-glasses) Hearing ....

The list just goes on and ON...everything about humans is augmented, amplified and INVENTED.

We are NOT natural critters...not at all.

The only difference now than in the past is the speed at which we are agumenting.

It's reached the take off point...it's happening kinda fast.
