After being on the site for a little over three months most of my SBD has went directly into Steem Power, so I'm thinking long term investing might be the route to go for me. I still have a considerable amount to save before I would consider selling.

Me too! We Geeks I think like Android more because of the potential to tweak our phones... iPhone's were more cool back in 2009 when lots of people did jailbreaks and created interesting Cydia tweaks. But then Apple shut down all the fun... But it's coming back big time!

I'm really torn on whether to sell or keep SBD. It's supposed to be pegged to a dollar, which means it may not increase very much in the future while Steem will, but who knows what will happen after SBD went past Steem?

I agree that 50/50 is the best option to protect from risk.

Thanks for making this happen! I did a video about the Steemify app after you informed us about it. It's an extremely good app to quickly get the latest updates! It makes it more fun and engaging. Can't wait until the Android version comes out because then I can get Steemit updates on my main smartphone!

I was actually looking for a way to start getting updates when some people post on Steemit, but the app I'm using now doesn't have that feature, or maybe I've not found out how to do it. I'll be watching your space to know when this new app is up for download.

Thanks for explaining the how the system works and what you think is the best strategy for now. Just started, so for now I'm reinvesting everything in the network (SBD > STEEM > SP), but keeping a little bit of SBD just in case the price takes a spike.

I wasn't aware of the Steemify app (maybe because I have an Android), so the possibility of a version for Android is very exciting. I love what so many top users here are doing to help the platform grow. Thanks to you and the @blockbrothers.

As for the SBD, I realize I'm such a small minnow and my opinion might not be worth much here, but I think powering up is the way to go. With SMTs coming I believe the demand for STEEM will continue to grow, and that 6 months from now you might be paying a serious premium for STEEM.

Hi @exyle, No plz don't think about selling em now. After SBD touched record high couple of weeks back, It faced profit booking pressure :( and fell down to around $6 and now again trying to move up slowly. I Kept all my SBDs secured and waiting for the correct time and correct price :)

Steemify is an amazing tool to get notifications from people you fallow. The only flo I see is that it’s litle delayed. It notifies after at least 1min the post is sent.
It also helps getting any type of notification such as if you got replay, if your username was mentioned, if you got followed, if you got a vote from someone, or if you made any transfers, power down/up, which is an additional security for your account.

You guys should have a look at react-native might make cross platform dev faster. I've just started looking at it myself. Seems easy enough to build from.

That's a really good additional feature that I wasn't aware that Steemify could do, I'm interested in EOS so I'll set it to notify me when @dan posts. as for SBD, who knows what will happen, but this is certainly a great time to sell them compared to what the historical price has been. I'd say it all comes down to how much money you need to make to fulfil your personal goals

Currently I'm waiting for SBD to drop to below par (1:1) to buy more. Then once it flip flops again use those to power up. Figure this will give me a nice bonus for the steem I purchased to power up with. Not a ton, but have another 100 sitting there right now.

Or if the price of steem drops a bunch for some reason I'll buy more and power up right away. Either way I just want more bang for my buck.

I would love to see the android version of steemify. With regard to SBD or Steem - I clearly prefer Steem (Power) as I think it has the greater potential long term to benefit from the growth of the platform.

Two big news:
- steemify allows you to get notified about more than one account.
- Possible Steemify Android version.

This is great feather of steemify:
- That's because steemify does not require keys only usernames!

Can you tell me @exyle that in January, 2018 we will get android steemify?

It's great to hear your analysis on the SBD situation. I've been selling half of my SBDs as I get my payouts and its been working nicely for powering up and diversifying into fiat and other crypto as well. The STEEM price will inevitably rise throughout 2018 and it just seems logical that as more SBD are printed to make up for the bigger payouts, the SBD price should fall inversely. BUT, as you said, crypto doesn't always act within reason! Thanks for sharing your insights as always!

Thanks for the information on the SBD and Steem relationship. That makes a lot of sense. Essentially the SBD supply increases as the Steem price goes up due the payout.

It is hard to tell which way a crypto will go.
At least we all know about HODL.
Normally SBD should peg to the dollar.
If it is in high demand, it will be the contrary.
Keep on steemit.

I plan on keeping a good percent of the SBD. If it goes back up to 13 dollars I want to be ready

While you might be selling half I'll try to HODL and even power up my account. Also the app seems every good bit I'm waiting for an android version since I don't have an iPhone.

Taking some of our SBD out when the price is high makes sense. But isn't it bad for the platform if a lot of it stays out of the steem ecosystem? I'm just a noob and genuinely trying to understand ho this works. 😄
