Also not to forget the possibility to send an encrypted memo, if you are not comfortable with the security on the chats. This will make your details only known to the buyer, noone else can see them. How to use encrypted memos

I'm new to all this, but I'm very excited to see where it's heading!

The more of these we get the better adoption will become. I think as long as we keep getting more people to get themselves signed up, the bigger market there will be for developers. With the price of STEEM getting so high, people can make decent money just being active members, obviously not life changing money, but enough to make it worth your time to be involved in Steemit.

Another very cool tool for the steem bockchain, that allows you to turn physical assets into crypto. Forget fiat/crypto pairing, this is stuff/SBD pairing :))

Steemit is really growing and the earlier people start coming with their own ideas too the better. Like you said, once the risk is less now, they pay more. I haven't tried Steemify before though. I only tried Esteem. Great idea by Steembay. Steemit is growing at an alarming rate.

This is becoming established on virtually all platforms. What do you think about security and what is your basic attitude towards SteemConnect? Maybe you could make a complete video just about SteemConnect? At the moment I am actually using it, but I keep changing my password at Steemit. I still don't use any of the additional services regularly (besides Steemit), so it's not acute for me. But it's a big question that still worries me.

Thats really a great app. It can be also good if they will develop a payment system like Paypal in the future. That will be very useful for all of us.
What we also need here is a money transfer system. So if We want to transfer Steem from Steemit to the Bank account for example, we dont need to go through all they other websites. And I am sure that all Steemians will support the project :)

Just a small remark about that... Steemit is a payment system in and of itself. And probably the fastest and cheapest one in the world. If we establish working marketplaces (even regional ones) you won't need a bank at all. To me this sounds preferable to any paypal system I could think of.

Yes thats of course the right thing to do, but I still believe that many big companies like Ebay, Amazon etc will be forced at the end to use Steem as one of the options. So I imagine a "Steempay" website that you can use it to pay anything anywhere instead of paypal or credit card. Also converting Steem through different websites to get it out to your bank account can be annoying with all the delay etc.
Well I didnt cash out yet, but hear from others who are doing regularly.

i've tried it, it's pretty darn cool, you should totally consider working together and maybe have this as a panel in steemify? i realise it's only like a notifications app but hey you could have a section for auctions in there too or maybe another standalone app? :)

A standalone app (desktop + mobile) is considered / planned. Time/Ressources are the problem about it.

It can work out very well, imagine if it grows huge and what will happen to steemit users.
Because people will be able to use their steem dollars and steem tokens to directly buy anything they want.

Great news @exyle, I had the same idea if why couldn't we to pay with cryptos to buy goods. I am grateful of SteemBay. I think that's the great project and it will be very successful. Especially, there won't be scarcity of crypto volatility because of auction system because the market will regulate the prices by itself.

@exyle do you know if is there an option for minimum price, or better yet a fixed price option?

I'll be honest a marketplace that removes ebay and/or amazon from the transaction would be welcome to a LOT of sellers out there. One of my businesses sells heavily on both those platforms so I network with hundreds of other sellers and the amount of contempt towards both ebay and amazon from sellers is amazing. There is potential for a new competitor to step in and take away market share from both ebay and amazon.

Actually you will HAVE to set a minimum price because you have to "start" the auction by commenting with "start x.x" ( e.g. 0.001 SBD, or 1.0, or 100.999 )
The initial idea about steembay was to keep the SBD in the system AND to be finally able to DO something at all with our currency. The step outside will probably only make sense as soon as we have finished the app, making it possible to search and filter, as well as using templates, multiple auctions etc. The actual version is working, but it's still quite rough and basic.

This is something I will need to follow. We sell an average of maybe 500 items a week between the accounts we maintain.

What this is awesome man! I actually went really in on eBay last year and sold a ton of stuff and built my account up, but as I started using Steemit more, eBay fell to the back burner. I am totally going to try this out this week! ohhh the ideas are just pouring in!

Unfortunately because of the greed in the community we won't see SBD properly pegged any time soon.

@exyle, what excites me about the @steembay initiative is that it also helps establish a commercial platform on Steemit, which creates an "economic foundation" for why the Steem token should exist. And that's just one more competitive advantage for us.

Think about it: There are already 1300+ coins out there, and that number is sure to grow in the coming years. If you are an investor how do you choose? Sure, you can look for the next high flyer... or you could choose something that has already proven that it has an economic reason for existing... regular people are using the token to trade with each other.

And what better token to run a peer-to-peer marketplace with? Super fast transaction time, lots of capacity and the users selling in this peer-to-peer marketplace have real names (account names) the average person can actually remember, not just an impossibly long string of characters and numbers.

My point here is that this doesn't just look good to those already in the cryptosphere, it looks good to outsiders, as well. And this additionally benefits us in terms of "marketing differentiation." We HAVE something to offer people... beyond just a promise based on someone using the world "blockchain" 43 times in a White Paper!
