Aside from that, the thing I love about Steemit is that everybody is so helpful and openminded, I have yet to come upon someone who is dismissive or disrespectful. Granted I've been here for a short time now but hopefully, time won't prove me wrong.

Negativity is almost nowhere to be found on Steemit, at least from my experience. I guess posts regarding politics generate some heated discussions, but I still think people have learnt that behaving nicely is what earns respect and Steemdollars;)

What are the difference between eSteem app and Steemify? I have the Steemify app now and I'm just curious if I should change to eSteem or if there is a use case for both of them?

There is a use case for both of them. eSteem makes it possible to communicate with the blockchain and that's awesome. I use it every day. Steemify will give you a lot more notification options and you can add different users because it does not require keys, just usernames.

yeah it's an old term to me that got bolted in when 'social media' came along, the worse term for 'audience' i've ever seen yet nobody else knew what to call it -- i've always been 'socialable with my media' that is if you want it you can have it for free, it's always been the 'content' component (the audio, video, text, graphics) that people notice and can lead to what we would normally know of as the 'work' and the 'process'

the wonderful thing about a transparent, open blockchain where your activity is the metric of engagement it's up to the audience to validate your 'content creation' -- it feels very much like a bs term like social media but it's just the building blocks of 'doing the work' -- i spent so many years trying to explain to people, brands and small companies why they needed to do the blogging, media and video parts of content creation -- problem is most people in business are not normally creative about storytelling or understand the benefits of speculative communication to customers they don't have.

with steemit i'm able to communicate the work i do on a daily basis, maintain a blog and get a bit of payment for my time and involvement, it's the involvement over time that creates longer lasting relationships in a decentralized world because our legacy is here for all to see -- the lines of hobbies, work and life in general blur and turn into a utopian digital life experience.

I have been thinking very similarly since joining Steemit in December. There is something truly special on Steemit that I NEVER found on any other social networking platform. I was welcomed with open arms upon coming here and have had nothing but awesome support.

It’s pretty amazing to be able to login and find unbelievably talented people of all shapes and sizes posting their quality work here. I’m an super thankful that I stumbled upon Steemit- yeah it was basically by accident haha..

After reading your post what just came in my mind is an adage in my local dialet which says "adze pa ton ne ho", literally translated to english means good things sell themselves.
Since I joined steemit I've seen that it is a community of value which I believe everyone else agrees. As such, everyone is willing to contribute his or her quota to make it a haven for all steemians. The future is bright with steemit.

Yes, you are right, every single day you find something amazing an steem. I agree on the esteem app. Can't do without it, by you're app from @blockbrothers is my number 2. I love how easy it is to have exactly the norifications what you want. I think a lot of people forget to add others. You think when you filled in youre name that you are done.. But you can add others. Maybe highlight this feature again..

Good morning Mark, it is so nice to see people who bring support (with tools and votes) and to see people who give input and comments on other interesting posts. All together we build the blockchain, and while doing we have fun and in many times we see great entries with all kind of topics, or all kind of contest where we could share lovely pictures. Every single steemian is working hard to find its place on the best place to be.

It is great to see a community that allows everyone their niche and being able to maintain a environment of quality content , also enabling people to fully build on and extend without silly limitations.

And as with all families in life there are the black sheep. Or as I like to call them the circle jerkers. I think the curators need more powerful official auto flag tools and isolated community detection where people are posting as an extreme example, exactly the same content and just voting each others.

You can also record in portrait mode on dtube. It works unlike on youtube.

I love you in your post pods. I thank you very much for sharing with us. I hope you share this kind of good post in the future with us and give us a chance for poders

Although I like the optimistic tone of your post, we should not avoid discussing issues that drive Steemians away from further contributions. These include ‘reward pool plunder’, excessive use of autobots, violation of the principle of decentralisation by rogue whale power. I hope these issues will be addressed in future updates to the blockchain.

Yes! I really love how Steem represents the value of the work invested in the platform, rather than the value of the power which was wasted keeping the blockchain alive.

Yeah, you have a point there. It looks like steem community own steem project. This is not seen in any other blockchain, they just rely on developers. One reason could be incentives you get in the form of SBD and steem when you use that project on steem blockchain or post it here and get rewarded from the users. If that is the case then even it is better because at the end of the day everyone needs appreciation and it is better it is adding something good to the community.

It's like you combine video game + a new digital currency that could be traded into something real. Are there actually any other platform that also works as social media + Blockchain or is Steemit the only one?

It's very clear that it's working because of the reward system. It makes the whole system more engaging. Also probably work so well because people are kind of fed up with the other large social media sites that are censoring stuff and becoming stagnant.

But much of this also just happens because the world population is growing so fast that just a few companies cant capture all the value under some huge umbrella. Every single individual is starting to become real powerful because of how empowered they are getting because of new technology. And with new research and development that constantly push the price down. Machine learning has another massive part in this.

You create a nice positive feedback loop when people faster get rewarded for good content. With other platforms it takes a longer time. And then you may forget what it was you did that gave you a reward. The quicker feedback makes people adjust faster and optimize. And people like to get rewarded more from other users than some company. Because it feels more special and personal.

We are probably all moving slowly ahead into some new era. But there will be many bumps on the road that's for sure! But we truly live in exciting times for people who want to work for themselves or express themselves to the world.

Steemit is a totally different from other social media, blogspot, and cryptocurrency. Unlimited potential inside Steemit. The community is having increasing confidence day by day, soon, it will be the Year of Steem

If you ask me, i feel steemit is also doing a great job by building communities. Down here in Uyo, Nigeria, we have steemians who are whales that have been moving around universities and school preaching about steemit. They have also created accelerated hubs packaged with free wifi and equipments to help build steemians and their business.

Steemit indeed is the best. I pray it becomes number one someday 🙌

I slowly started introducing my friends to steemit. I got one hooked and he is now promoting it in his circles. It is going to be great place to share our art. I am happy I was an early enough adopter here.

@exyle you are so right about the market being volatile. It's up and down every day and can certainly put a lot of stress on the mind if you are not careful. Putting some value back in the bank makes sense.

For me I'm enjoying Steemit now. I started taking photos and sharing them over the last year on my blog, but since the start of 2018 I'm getting heavily into D.Tube - just made the D.Tube trending page for the first time today! Woot!

I think D.Tube is a great community it allows people to be 'down to earth', unlike Facebook and YouTube where it's all about the showiness. . Thanks for always sharing your thoughts out in the open.

I'll be updating my eSteem app shortly too. I used to be doing 100 comments a day when it was first released, hopefully the bugs are gone now.

I am learning new things every day. I have never dealt with crypto before. I love the fact that with DTube and Steemit you are not censored, or your content removed if you say something that they do not agree with. This gives you a sense of freedom and coming from Youtube you are always so scared every time that you upload a video that it risks everything. It is a great feeling to just have that freedom again. I know this comment is kind of late, so you may not see it, but steemit is very unique. It is one of the few coins that has a Technology and a use that is actually USED. Many coins have a platform that can be used, but the platform is not used. Nobody uses the other platforms. Steemit is a finished product. The technology is finished the platform is finished. It is ready to use. Many other coins don’t have this. And if they do, like I said it’s not used. Even many of the major coins don’t see uses with their technology, its just pure speculation. Steem is not speculation at all. And everybody here knows that and knows how the Steemit platform is the best platform out there. We all know steem is very undervalued at the moment since it is able to process the most transactions per day, and this is proven each and every day. We all know steem is great. So we try to spread it to others, hoping it catches on. With more youtubers trying out dtube and talking about steem, the Steemit Blockchain will grow exponentially, I’m glad i beat the huge the crowd that will be coming. But even still we all need to do our part and expose this platform to others. I LOVE STEEMIT. And I think everybody here does too

I honestly don't fully understand how Steemit and it's currency works in relation to posting content, commenting, and upvoting but the ideals of this project make me want to take part anyway. Steemit is like a public park where people gather to discuss important topics while others enjoy the park compared to other social media outlets are like walking in a shopping mall or sitting on a bench inside one. It's completely instinctual where I would rather be...

To be fair, a lot of people actually make a lot of money on other social media - YouTube and Instagram for example, there are people that make $10 Thousand dollars daily! Of course these are the very top people (equivalent to Whales on Steemit). The benefit of Steem and Steemit is you can make revenue right from the very beginning without need to build a giant following. If you attract the right attention (or you know how to troll 👀 ), then you can make some revenue.

But yes, for most users, they were not making anything on Facebook or Twitter anyway.
