Considering the month is almost over, I won't be inviting anyone else to participate, but I'll be back in May, with more time, to see what's going on.

The truth is, I don't have a clear memory of what my first cartoon series was. It was probably those unforgettable bouncy characters from La Familia Telerin that they used to send us off to bed with when the black and white television got interesting.

All the Hanna-Barbera characters were definitely there, just without color. I must have been nine years old when I got hepatitis and was bedridden for several months, and the television kept me company from the test pattern until the monologue of children happily going to bed appeared. "They," because my siblings and I never stopped protesting, and sometimes we managed to stay in front of the screen for a while.

We also had comic books, although nothing like the graphic novels of today. Not even the revolutionary Strong magazine that circulated during those years (1969-1971), where I discovered the Smurfs and other characters who later became more well-known.

The great thing about comics and graphic novels of that era, including Mortadelo, Zipi y Zape, and Fantastic Four, was that when you didn't have two pesetas to buy a new issue and you'd read all your friends' comics, you could go to the bookstore with an old, but well-preserved, copy and one peseta to exchange it for another that, although used, you hadn't yet read.
Nothing like these manga of Japanese origin that you have to read backwards as if it were Arabic or the mirror script of medieval initiates.

From those years, I remember the characters from TBO comics: Captain Thunder, El Jabato, and with Fantastic Four came Hulk, the incredible green man, alter ego of Dr. Bruce Banner.

Shortly after, we moved to Caracas, where we started buying Superman and Spider-Man comics. These came from Mexico and cost 1 bolívar, an amount I saved up throughout the week, either by skimming on breakfast or by sneaking onto the bus without paying the fare, which back then cost half a bolívar, or 25 centimos. Back then, 1 bolívar could buy you a bag of 10 locha rolls at the bakery, because at the bodega they only sold 8. That's why they were called lochas; a locha was a coin worth 12.5 centimos, long since disappeared. Though not as long since the perras gordas or chicas, 10 and 5 centimos of a peseta, distant relatives of the puyas, 5 centimos of a bolívar.

Today in Buenos Aires, I don't dare buy comics; My children like anime and manga, so sometimes I come across Mafalda and El Eternauta on screen or social media, and very occasionally a certain Super Hijitus and his dog Pichichus. This might explain the popularity of Jack Russell Terriers in this beautiful city, unless it's due to the movie The Mask, where Milo captivates with his antics, competing with his owner and the protagonist.

Un poco de mi historia y los tebeos.

¡Hola! Saludos, comunidad, aunque sea a última hora, no quise dejar de participar en esta iniciativa a la que me invitara mi estimado amigo @enraizar. Considerando que ya va a terminar el mes, no invitaré a nadie a participar, pero volveré en mayo, con más tiempo, a ver de qué va la movida.

La verdad es que no tengo un claro recuerdo de cuál fue la primera serie de dibujos animados. Seguramente fueron los imperdibles saltarines de La Familia Telerin con que nos despachaban para la cama cuando la televisión en blanco y negro se ponía interesante.

Con seguridad estaban todos los personajes de Hanna-Barbera solo que sin color. Tendría 9 años cuando me atacó la hepatitis y guardé cama durante varios meses, y la televisión me hacía compañía desde la carta de ajuste hasta que aparecía la retahíla de niños felices de ir a dormir.
Ellos, porque yo y mis hermanos no dejábamos de protestar y a veces lográbamos seguir un rato frente a la pantalla.

También teníamos los tebeos, aunque nada que ver con las novelas gráficas de ahora. Ni siquiera la revolucionaria Strong que circuló por aquellos años (69 al 71), donde conocí a Los Pitufos y otros personajes que luego llegaron a ser más conocidos.
Lo bueno de los tebeos y novelas gráficas de aquella época, incluidos Los Mortadelos, Zipi y Zape o Los 4 Fantásticos, era que cuando no tenías dos duros para comprar un número nuevo y habías leído los de todos los amigos, podías acudir a la librería con un ejemplar viejo, pero bien conservado, y 1 peseta para cambiarlo por otro que, aunque usado, aún no habías leído.
Nada que ver con estos mangas de origen japonés que hay que leer del revés como si se tratara del árabe o la escritura espejo de los iniciados medievales.
De aquellos años recuerdo a los personajes del TBO, El Capitán Trueno, El Jabato, y con los 4 Fantásticos apareció Hulk, el increíble hombre verde, alter ego del Dr. Bruce Banner.
Al poco tiempo nos mudamos a Caracas, donde entramos en tratos con los suplementos de Superman y El hombre araña. Estos venían de México y costaban 1 bolívar, cantidad que reunía en el transcurso de la semana, ahorrando en el desayuno o mediante una escaramuza en que viajaba en el autobús sin pagar el pasaje, que por aquellos días costaba medio, o sea, 25 céntimos de la época.
Cuando por 1 bolívar podías comprar una bolsa con 10 panes de a locha en la panadería, porque en la bodega eran solo 8, por eso el nombre, pues una locha era una moneda de 12 céntimos y medio desaparecida hace mucho tiempo. Aunque no tanto como las perras gordas o chicas, 10 y 5 céntimos de pesta parientas lejanas de las puyas, 5 céntimos de bolívar.

Hoy en Buenos Aires, no me animo a comprar tebeos; mis hijos gustan del anime y el manga, así que a veces me cruzo con Mafalda y el Eternauta en la pantalla o las redes y muy de vez en cuando con un tal Súper Hijitus y su perro Pichichus. Lo que puede ser la explicación de la popularidad de que gozan los perros Jack Russell Terrier en esta bella ciudad, a no ser que se deba a la película La Mascara, donde Milo cautiva con sus ocurrencias compitiendo con su amo y protagonista.
