Scream

I want to scream
Shout until my throat burns
But nothing comes out
Like a mute my voice it stifled
muffled by bourbon and tears
I've been dead for many years
Died and resurrected
I walk through life
A zombie
It's dreary
No joy
Only numbness and sorrow
But a glimmer of hope
As this turmoil vibrates a new song
Casting doubt on what will have become of me
By tomorrow
