What lies would the media feed us if there was no wars to write about? It's got to be a new war though, there's no point writing about "old news" like the Ukraine and Russia conflict when there's a new war to sensationalize and lie about right? Old wars don't rate well, new wars are better.

Fucken media cunts

Of course, the media like mass shootings too; I can imagine all those media fuckers sitting around whining that there's not been a decent school shooting for ages and having to come up with other lies and propaganda to feed the hungry masses...those with no fucken individual thought of their own and who actually buy into and believe the lies. Although...those masses could always default to whining about President Trump I suppose, and they do. That old fucken chestnut.

I hate the media, they're a bunch of good-for-nothing assholes designed for and focused on the improvement of ratings and the sale of advertising space; I hate them even more because they pitch their drivel as "keeping us informed on what really matters." I call bullshit.

Death, destruction, havoc, chaos, unrest and other such things are what the media hope for and they get it. They package it up for the dumb and dumber who watch and read and keep people right where they want them, depressed and in a state of unrest. I blame them for a lot but, of course, people have the choice to watch and buy into the lies or not. The enlightened do not.

Do you feed yourself a diet of media-generated lies and propaganda or do you opt out? Do you rely on questionable media sources to feel "in touch" with events around you or do you seek that information elsewhere and keep focused on what really matters rather than things that do not? Do you like or loathe the media? Comment if you want.

I like reading the news and compare various sources. For example I like reading both sides in Ukraine war and compare and I read first person reports on Telegram as well.

Everyone loves out their life differently.

I believe in reconciliation and coexistence but with justice without impunity. However, talking about the war is very difficult, due to the lack of reliable information, in the middle of the conflict, total censorship is established and access to the scene of the events is restricted and under military control.

Each belligerent develops its propaganda, its narrative as part of the conflict. And external opinions basically respond to ideological and political interests. The only thing, we can try is a geopolitical explanation of the interests at stake.

Yes, the media are manipulated a lot of the time.

Ah quite in topic with the engagement theme, anyways I totally avoid any mainstream media, TV or papers, they always push their agenda in a shady way, like if an immigrant kills it's "a man killed", if it's a white Italian, "Mr. X from city Y, name and surname, Italian" and such, with wars is the same... I rely on neutral telegram channels and some news site which declare their orientation, so you can read them with knowledge and not blind trust and do your own considerations

I think it's smart to consider the information rather than simply absorb it like most do. So much of it is rubbish and is designed to influence people...the weak minded.

Yeah, every time I need to fix damage TV media do on my parents, they come asking me if stuff is true, etc...

Same with how AI shapes perception...not a positive thing.

Yep, that's really make some people dumb and dumber

As old as the song "Dirty Laundry" is, it had all of this pegged years ago. It's just the events that have changed, not the behavior.

Yeah, human behaviour has changed little and what change there's been has largely been for the worse.

I see, you're not a fan of the media either and you don't let them influence your opinion 🙂

In addition to various fake, sensational news from the media, today there is also a problem with AI inventions, so it is really difficult for us to distinguish what is reality and what is AI.
I think that we can only find out the truth from communication with people on the ground, and that if we find someone who is not a supporter of only one side.

With the rise of AI what we see might not even be what actually is which is a fairly alarming thing I think.

> Do you feed yourself a diet of media-generated lies and propaganda or do you opt out?

Who would answer yes to this directly XD

as in without arguing about how you're wrong

I remember when I was young and wanted to be a writer and told that writers don't make any money and I should be a journalist instead because I was good at writing. I thought about it and opted out because quite frankly I found writing news articles insanely mind numbingly boring. I'd probably just keep getting fired now.

I think there used to be an element of genuinely wanting to inform people but with the rise of commercialism it's morphed into simple ratings generation to help sell advertising space; this means the real "news" tends to be less of a focus.

Unless it was in some alternate timeline I feel like there was something or other about reporting the truth as there were some newspapers that were embellishing things or straight up inventing stories in order to sell newspapers/magazines. So not much different from now after all that? x-x

Not sure about that. I preferred caveman days, no fuckassery back then.

Do you have the Big pHarmya adverts down under every other commercial?

I giggle when I hear all the side effects. Like your skin will be blotch free. Never mind the anal discharge and thoughts of suicide. Your skin will look great as your slashing your own wrists and shifting your pants, But wait...

Depression? Thoughts of suicide..?

They got some drugs for that also. And every fucking commercial with the dancing happy zombies will say...

ASK YOUR DOCTOR!

🤡 Fucking Clown World 🤡

We have the very same ones man, and people fall for it a lot. Dumbasses. It's incredible what humans will do to each other for money, and I don't mean war.
