Howdy Hive,

My usual process of creating a 'DJ Mix' consists of a few months period of track selection, phrasing, refining, recording, refining, recording, and then finally mastering. I truly enjoy the procedure of practicing the mixing for long periods of time before attempting to capture that final perfect copy, completely submissive to allowing the music to 'soak into my soul' before then giving my best attempt to 'present' and 'perform' that music for other people, hoping that they may enjoy it as much as I do.

To me the process seems cyclical - in that I've likely absorbed 'inspiration' from other DJs that have performed for me at some point, either witnessed 'Live in-person' or via some 'Recording I've heard'. For what seems like almost instinctual reasons, I participate in that process with the hopes of passing that same 'positive energy' via my mixes to other persons, whether that be to some sort of other practicing musician, or every other music loving listener.

This newest mix happened upon me in unusual fashion. One morning I awoke having a few of these songs playing in my dreams as a running soundtrack, likely prompted due to finalizing the initial track selection list the night before. I hopped out of bed, fed the animals, made a cup of coffee, and fired up the turntables. This mix was the result.
