The Euro 2024 soccer championship finals will be held in Germany and they start in a week from now!

The tournament is held every 4 years and in between you have the qualifying rounds. Yes we hava a lot of Euro countries. I believe Russia is no longer allowed to take part in any way (for good reasons).

But back to the topic.

The German Muenze designed a commerative EURO coin for the tournament:

And in between all the coins I showed here previously from Italy and Perth Mint this is not a looker at all. Yes they did hire an artist called Detlef Behr from Köln but all he came up with was a fussball (soccer ball), a pitch and 4 corner flags. The other side is teh official Eagle (Adler) so here he could not do much!

Well it is just a coin (11 EURO as in 11 players per team) and the tournament itself is more important. But next time they should ask Porsche to do the design!

And @welshstacker will have to pick another team to cheer for. Maybe the Dutch team? Or Scotland maybe ?
