Se present贸 la oportunidad y la aprovech茅.
Recientemente tuve un encuentro musical con algunos de mis colegas del Sistema de Orquestas, nos reunimos para grabar un cover de la canci贸n "Oh, qu茅 ser谩?" de Chico Buarque (versi贸n de Willie Col贸n), terminamos de hacer la grabaci贸n y estabamos espectantes, quer铆amos grabar otra cosa y no sab铆amos qu茅 tocar!
El Cuatrista y el Bajista se estaban preparando para tocar "El Tramao de Luis Laguna" y aprovech茅 la oportunidad de unirme a ellos porque yo me s茅 esa pieza en la mandolina y da la casualidad que me la s茅 en el tono en que la estaban tocando.
Sali贸 a la segunda toma, hicimos un peque帽o arreglo y qued贸 bastante ch茅vere. Esta experiencia me hizo dar cuenta que lograr las cosas es una combinaci贸n de preparaci贸n + oportunidad, jam谩s planificamos hacer esa interpretaci贸n pero se di贸 y aprovech茅 de grabar con estos m煤sicos de alto nivel.
Yo no soy el mejor mandolinista del mundo, pero ese momento era mi oportunidad para destacar, y creo que as铆 es la vida, de esperar o buscar tu momento de brillar y que cada uno de nosotros tiene la capacidad de ser grande en su d铆a a d铆a.

The opportunity presented itself, and I took it.
Recently, I had a musical get-together with some of my colleagues from the Sistema de Orquestas. We met up to record a cover of Chico Buarque鈥檚 "Oh, qu茅 ser谩?" (the Willie Col贸n version). Once we finished the recording, we were still buzzing with energy鈥攚e wanted to record something else, but we weren't sure what to play!
The cuatro and bass players started getting ready to play "El Tramao" by Luis Laguna, and I jumped at the chance to join them. As it happens, I know that piece on the mandolin, and by pure luck, I knew it in the same key they were playing in.
We nailed it on the second take. We put together a quick little arrangement, and it turned out great. This experience made me realize that achieving things is a combination of Preparation + Opportunity. We never planned to perform that piece, but the moment arrived, and I took the chance to record with these high-level musicians.
I鈥檓 not the best mandolinist in the world, but that was my moment to shine. I think life is like that鈥攚aiting for or seeking out your moment to spark, knowing that each of us has the capacity to be great in our daily lives.
Preparation + Opportunity + Faith.
