Do like Facebook does - count the NUMBER of users that give a vote to rank the article/post regardless of the weight value. And later on, give the voting value to the whole account. This way you're eliminating some of those dam bots that automatically vote, ranking shitty posts in no time...

I know what you're saying. Open up my hot or trending page and i got 45 memes that are shit quality anyways... i dont know im not against memes and poems and even live streams of video games but lets not forget that the whole point of Steemit is to have people who curate and that higher quality content gets seen, recognized amd becomes more of a steady constant in today's social media. I really appreciate Steemit because all of us are here for the same reasons. I thought that the bots wpuld be a good way to get ypur content on the hot or trending page so that more people would view your post amd in turn upvote amd comment.

Good changes, I'm trying to understand the whole thing and I think there is a lot of noise and lack of information or accessibility in several aspects i.e. decision making process, proposal and acceptance of platform changes just to give a few examples, in my opinion, we should look ahead and overcome obstacles, (for that I try to find them, it's not pessimism) hope not to sound too grumbling, I do believe it has incredible potential.

Linear rewards are good, some votes should have more power to avoid the many account many votes. Someone with good rep should have more promotional/flag power. The cost of rigging the system needs to be higher than the payout. Its a problem for many platforms.

A bot can just power up/delegate and vote itself profits (I'm new to the platform that is how I understand it).

I agree with @ash. The bots will take over even more. It will only make it easier to cheat the system in reality. Hell, I have a few accounts already, what's to stop me from making 1,000 more?

Do you mean you will aim to filter out all bot driven accounts from the human controlled accounts? If so, how can you ensure some people may not fall through the cracks, as is the case now when it comes to massive downvotes?

Also, are there any plans to improve the visibility for smaller accounts to even the playing field more with the well established whale accounts, which may very well be the number one reason a lot of newbies leave the platform?

I think the bots are a really big problem for the platform, because they just take away the organic or natural behavior of it, there are new people who post content and get 30 votes but less than a dollar, so the idea of @meonline would be great, not showing the voting value until it's past the seven days, so the content that has a mayor number of votes would be the one that gets trendy

Facebook has bots but they are not called bots. Facebook Ads are part of a revenue system. People pay for the ads to gain views on Facebook. The bots are basically programs or buttons that are powered by money. That is what the free market is all about. You want to be promoted as an artist, either find a manager or a bot. Managers try to get people to see musicians just like bots do.

Thank goodness. Stake based weighting allows investors to dictate good and bad content despite no evidence or work to prove they are great curators of said content.

The folks with the biggest wallets dictating the front page is antithetical to what steemit is trying to be - a platform for everyone.

Steemit has moved further away from the inital idea of 'human/manual curation' as the bots are starting to take over.... Lets hope something can be done in the future to fix it! I think users with more stake having more of say is OK, but there are always those who will abuse their power...

I think having a reddit style based upvote would work better. Like if you get 500 upvotes you would still beat out someone with 100 upvotes even if their rewards were $1000 and yours were $86...although there's potential for abuse there too

That's a good point I didn't consider. Votes can be tied to the trending page and uncoupled from the gains. You could still have the gains, it just wouldn't mean a spot on the trending page. Interesting. Thanks for your idea

It means that the voting system will be much fairer. Right now its easy for people with SP to earn a few SP extra by using bidbots, and of course people are abusing it with shit content and it ends up on the top articles, drawning out everything else.
The solution of having one vote per person is fairer, but again, is easy to manipulate as anyone can go get more than one account, and then use these accounts to vote on something they wrote.

Sounds good for newbies and bad for anyone who has been here a while, or who invested here. So they are throwing the investors and content-creators under the bus, to bring on more new accounts?

My first thought was yeh that it would be shit for investers, and sure when I think about it more there will be so many new bogus accounts and the new steemit investment will be going into paying for new accounts, like, I could now say instead of buying actual steem i will start just buying accounts. Luckily i dont spend much time on laptops so this suggestion and the end result most likely wont be done by myself because I cant be fucked, BUT watch how many accounts will power down and just start turning steem into steem accounts, to be used to upvote own content..

Why would more accounts mean a higher steem price, if those accounts each have 0 Steem? If Steem isn't necessary for voting, they'll just use empty accounts which can be created for free using the new lightning signups.

Maybe just the numbers from an outside invester would look appealing, to see that there was say 800,000 accounts and then it started doubling very quick, that could draw more bigtime investers in an effect the price. I cant see it lowering the value even if all those new "vote accounts" had 0 balance? unless there is a graph somewhere that says the values of wallets?

Account Based voting is a way to go solution on the current Steemit problem. The trending page is now polluted of some unvaluable articles. Steemit will be much more likely to become Reddit if the 1 account is equal 1 vote solutions is implemented. However, there is a problem in that algorithym as well. There are abusers who created multiple accounts on Reddit and upvote their own post to be on top trending page. If that system will be implemented I hope there are ways to stop this abusers. Great post and still bullish on future of Steemit @happymoneyman

The challenge in online voting systems is that players manage to game them. There are millions of fake accounts on social media. The people who are gaming the system always manage to find a way to get the posts they want on the top.

This is a good point-- I think it is exaggerated by early mover's advantages and upvote bots.

It is always good to search for solutions rather than sitting on a problem.

If they do implement an account based voting system there is many other changes that would need to accompany that update to help reduce the amount of abuse right off the bat.
To your point about multiple accounts, there would need to be something that registers which IPs are using which accounts and how many at each IP. This is a scary thought in my opinion especially on a platform that is seemingly attempting to be decentralized. If a centralized authority starts banning people for making multiple accounts then I foresee a lot of anger and frustration in the future. Also, it would take many more man hours to monitor that sort of thing, even with automation. How many accounts would be allowed? Personally I know I had 8 family members in my house growing up. If people have to use multiple IPs to make multiple accounts then at least they would have to pay money to attempt abuse.

I am not disagreeing, these are just thoughts I had in response to your comment. I am not smart enough to know a good solution that would work.

thanks, earlier this morning i read a proposal by a witness to up the treshold for payout from a (non-rounded) 0.02 to a (non-rounded 0.1) ... that would be the end for 1000s, probably tens of thousands (i dont know the numbers and no one would unless they can count the bots without fail) of small fry.

You can mask IP addresses. I can show you how to do it and I'm not even much of a computer nerd. Bots and accounts can come from different IP addresses through proxies. People who take the time to make bots, sock accounts, multiple accounts, etc, can also take the time to hide/mask their IP addresses. You can remote control other desktops, that means other computers with different IPs. You can run accounts from different computers from your remote. I have used a remote to access my other computer. There are so many things people do and this is just from the top of my head of the things people do.

Remote control is still basically what a dedicated VPN is. That used to be the case a year ago and maybe still on some sites, but most commercial sites in the states I know of now have access to a database of all the fake VPN IP proxies and still ban you for using VPNs at least the last 9 or 10 months I've seen it since they began attempting to make IPV6 the standard for the internet. At least that's the case for typical top commercial VPN providers. They's got swarms of bots constantly looking to add new IPs to the list and maybe it works for a while, but sooner or later they catch it. It's been a real pain in the ass. That's why most VPN services have slashed their prices, because they no longer work for many sites.

Account base voting means there is no reason to hold any STEEM but remember you are actually paid in STEEM - token that will become worthless. Super linear reward curve is the way to go. Also you should be rewarded more if you find good post from author that wasn't successful so far rather than someone who gets into trading all the time.

Thanks for the comment. I thought of the multiple account angle. There have been some developments in blockchain identity. Hopefully people will be privately identified by the blockchain which should cut down on the amount of bot account spam. This will be a big problem to overcome, but I know they are aware of it.

Um sure.. From a stake holder based system to a popularity contest system. haha... But yeah i think that should be the way to go. Something just needs to change. What i fear is that the whales will pick up and leave if they smell they are loosing their money making opportunity. If lets say "Freedom" drops all his Steem on the exchange how would that affect the rest of the whales that hold the keys to our payouts by holding Steem and keeping the price up. The 1% does have more then 80% of SP on Steem platforms.
Im unclear on how exactly SMTs would function, outside the basic understanding of what Ned said (and in the video i watched on @exyle blog he doesnt really say much)...
Its just all too vague for the moment and no one with technical knowledge (that i know of ) has been able to explain it in more detail.

There needs to be a better way to communicate with respondents on our posts and people we follow as well for the site to promote the “social” aspect of this social media site.

I think the biggest obstacle to real social media interaction on Seemit is the need for a more intuitive interface both for blog publishing and for social interactions. The current set up isn’t ideally user friendly.

I think it is exciting to hear what is coming for the future of Steemit. Unfortunately what I see in the community right now is completely different than what is hoped for. Steemit seems to be turning into a hybrid of social media sites instead of an evolution of them. There is so much lame content like you would see on Facebook making big money because they are able to buy their way up the ladder with upvotes. Since they are rising to the top of the heap they are being seen as an easy way to post, so more people do it more often and so on and so on. I got on Steemit not only (or primarily) because I could earn for my posts but because it was a place where I could display myself creatively and become part of a community. I'm here for the long haul and I hope that it does become the gold standard for the next age of social media. I just don't see it right at the moment.

I don't really think it is a good time to get more people onboarded seeing the sorry state of Steemit under Bot control. Lots of people may come but will very quickly become discouraged and leave when they see the trending page and wonder why their amazing post isn't getting nearly $1000. The trending page has to go or all posts using Bots should be visible tagged as such.

Big news if they can sort out the registration process. It’s a mess right now. Once that’s streamlined this platform will have a serious chance of leading the next generation of social media. Most people don’t really like Facebook for instance, but since it’s so convenient and since so many people use it it’s still dominating. But once the issues of steemit get worked out and it starts to adopt more and more features (communities and sub threads like Reddit being and example)
It will be unstoppable!

Yeah, I haven't used that feature myself but I use their curation trial feature.

I like your post and agree they really need to sort out the registration. It's holding us back MASSIVELY, and right now is when we should be growing and capturing people leaving FB and YT, but we aren't.
As for DTube, it stopped working for me and most people I know about a month ago. DLive is working well for me now, and most other vloggers I talk to.

I'm glad that Ned seems to realize that to date Steemit is NOT a go-to place for good content. The bulk of it has a 'please pay me' feel to it. How do we get past that?

Yes Steemit will be the one biggest project in this year and the end of facebook.

Hashtags are like communities. But we could maybe have groups, pages, communities, categories, or whatever we may call them on Steemit. Not too sure how that would work exactly, but we the people can make it happen if wen want it badly enough.

But I like the ability to grow in voting power (VP) because that is valuable and it inspires us to compete to get more voting power and I prefer republics over democracies. An equal one vote power per account sounds nice but it does not represent the variation in humanity as some of us are better than other people. I might be smarter than you. But you might be stronger than me. Another person might be faster. But there are variations and variables in all of this and we should be rewarded for those things. If you are really successful, lucky, or whatever, you should be given more voting power. If not, then what motivates us? I love free markets. But it strives as the rich gets richer. That is a good thing. Communism and socialism does not work but China is still promoting Marxism, Stalinism, Maoism, Leninism, corporatism, monopolism, plutocracy, etc.

hi @happymoneyman , I actually quite like the concept of a one vote one account; however I am not very certain how it works... or maybe I didn't quite get what you have mentioned.

Since you mentioned that Steemit is aiming to get the best content to be curated, does that mean if my favourite author writes 4 posts a day, for example, I can only vote one of his / her best piece of the day?

Which means however great the piece will be, if it is a second article, if I have previously voted his / her work within the last 24 hours, I will not be able to upvote his / her next piece article could very well much more worthy in curation?

Glad to see the leadership has true vision and plans for Steemit. That being said, it will probably be tough to find the best quality content with so many bots on Steemit.

That's a good point. Without the incentive for holding, we may see a shift. I think Ned is counting on SMTs to support Steem value. Steemit will be supported by content. Kind of a bold shift if you ask me. Big picture it will be interesting to see how this plays out

Will something replace weighted voting in encouraging users to hold Steem? If not, people are likely to sell off their Steem en masse, leading to a collapse of the price. After all, the reason most of us own Steem is because it allows us to generate MORE Steem.... and thereby profit from our work.

Maybe they could implement a voting system, where on one place it shows the current voting system which is dependent on how the voters steem power (big players decide), THEN have a system like on reddit whre 1 person = 1 vote (the majority decides).

This way you have 2 different voting systems having to collide with each other, either agreeing or disagreeing:

• 1st situation. Majority agreed that a post is valuable, but big players did not. (Could be mass manipulation or hype)
• 2nd situation. Big players agreed that a post is valuable, but majority did not. (Could be big players trying to push a post up to the top)
• 3rd situation. Nobody likes the post.
• 4th situation. Everybody agrees, the majority and the big players agree that the post is valuable.

You could then create a system that taken into consideration both the votes of the majority and the big players. If the 1st, situation the majority say a post is valuable, it goes up, but not as much because the lack of big player votes. This applies to the 2nd situation the same way.

Ex: Let's say there was a system shilling Bitconnect and i see the post has value, but only by the majority, the big players aren't voting.

• MajVote = 1000 votes by people, 95% positive (like on Reddit)
• BigPlayrVote = 0 big people with a lot of steem power voted. (like now on Steem)
• Formula: MajVote * 0.5 + BigPlayerVote * 0.5 = Overall value.

So we show at each post:
* overall value,
* majority vote,
* big player vote.

We make assumptions on those votes ourselves.

I can make assumptions and ask questions: Why big players don't participate? Is it mass hype? Is it mass manipulation? Why big players dislike the project? What do they know???

This is an experimental vote system, but if you are looking for solutions, trying some strange ones might help.

Manipulating this of course is possible, but you have to manipulate the voting in 2 ways instead of one.

I guess we can agree to one thing. Steemit will definitely be crazy. Future is getting sooner than we expect.

Actually the vision that was defined for Steem in the very beginnings was this one here:

Now on one hand that refers to content creators (as you perfectly mentioned in the video), but on the other hand it also includes the curators who provide their valuable attention.

So the vision wouldn't just be to sort or organize content (bring the best to the top as you said), but to create a self-sufficient eco-system where value is created and evaluated through the members of the community.

With excessive vote buying that vision has been currupted lately, since attention doesn't necessarily have to be earned (through value creation) but can be easily bought now.

Steem actually aims to be the modern version of local communities we all know from real life - where one can meet and interact with like-minded people. In contrast to centralized systems, the value that's brought into the network by the members of the community, doesn't belong to one single account who runs the network but to all participants - and is then distributed among those who contribute most.

Lately, we've distanced ourselves a bit from the original idea of Steem. While value creation, community building and the overall growth of the network were the main ambitions of Steem in the first year. Now personal financial benefit, immediate return and inflated follower statistics seem to be trending.

I by myself believe that only organic growth is sustainable growth, and that we need to be careful to not become one of these unsubstantial platforms where no real social interaction is taking place anymore.

If I had to define one single goal for Steem in 2018 then it would be: retention. The user experience is the single most important KPI for a social network - whether it's decentralized or not.

Personally, I have a strange feeling much of what was said has been misconstrued and people are jumping to conclusions.

I'm looking at the SP I earned. I can't see why Steemit Inc. would want to make that worthless. So I'm guessing, maybe the most organically popular to the point of trending post could have $2 worth of rewards next to it, but since it received 10000 votes, it sits in the number one slot. That would solve many problems(at least in the reward pool department). These folks could then spend $1000 for their 5 votes and stay at the bottom and from there they can stop misleading other members into thinking they are popular and good at what they do.

People seem worried about abuse but imagine if someone made 10000 accounts just so they could trend every post while their post only has $10 beside it. They could just sit there and look foolish. It would be incredibly easy to figure out if someone is using a trail of sock puppet accounts. We wouldn't have to sit around arguing about whether or not that member is exploiting the system because it would be painfully obvious. And their rewards would be much easier to flag away. They'd be left with one option. Organic growth.

I'm not saying this is how it's going to be. I'm saying that's how it could be. A wild guess. A shot in the dark. We wouldn't have to be guessing if these communications were clear.

Clear communications would relieve a huge pain point for the community. I should have to watch a 2 hour talk that is half in Korean for a 30 second quote about Steemit Inc's vision. Agreed

I think there are a lot of solutions on the board for blockchain identity that may help with the multiple sock puppet account. It will be really interesting to hear how they solve for that. It will need to be addressed or it won't make sense.

Moving from one experiment to the next just means leaving old problems behind and creating new ones. The issues many face now could be easily solved by placing posts like yours(don't take it personally) into the promoted tab when the use of these bots is detected. Then make the self vote something that can't contribute towards trending status. Those tiny changes would help push all of the organically popular content to the top. Something so simple yet seemingly unimaginable to so many. The common sense approach. Your post here today would be marked as an advertisement/paid programming. The high value self voted content would lose it's automatic advantage over everyone else, and from there everyone is given an even playing field. From the wealthiest to the poorest, it would be the content coming first, not the bank account or the false image presented when one purchases their fame.

Ned gives a talk in the beginning and then speaks a panel for quite a while. It's great info. I used the 10 second skip ahead button a lot to get to the english parts.

Yea, I was really interested to hear him talk about his vision. He answered a lot of questions I had in my own mind for the future or Steemit. He also mentioned the "super linear rewards curve" This lines up to your good point about being rewarded as curators. It sounds like it will be shifting towards rewarding people who vote on content first, get the biggest reward.
Now some speculation:
I would guess that the number of votes per day would need a cap. Let's just say 10 votes per day per account. Then curators would need to be careful to only vote on the very best content. If they were using bots, their bot may waste the 10 votes on sub-par content. So real curators would have an incentive.

I love the analogy of "local communities". It's true. I interact with people on Steemit, who I would want to be around in the real world. That's definitely different from my Twitter account. It's a special thing about Steemit that shouldn't be lost. Ned's north star seems to be curating content with cryptocurrency incentives. His main goal is to find a way to sort the best content towards the top. He will keep tweaking the algo to make that happen.

You make a great point that retention is a big part of it. I was recently a little discouraged with the overall state of the platform. I felt the shift you mentioned away from community, content, and curation and towards gaming the system. I would imagine a lot of others felt the same. I've been more optimistic lately because the community stepped up and slowed the spam. It's constantly changing. I'm happy to know Ned's vision and that he's going to continue to tweak Steem to help it thrive. It was really interesting to hear him talk about the SMT's as an experiment ground for changes we may use on Steemit someday.

1 account is equal 1 vote solutions is implemented. However, there is a problem in that algorithym as well.

My layman's suggestion is to use various ranking factors for a post(s) to go to trending, not through a powerful votes by the few Steemit gods.

This would include number of organic reach, impressions, number of votes, number of social media shares, and last but not the least number of user engagements.

Post that receives fat up-votes from the few Steemit gods won't automatically have a guaranteed seat at the trending page, unless it has met the criteria mentioned above. It will still be earning ridiculous payout nevertheless only that it won't show up in the trending but in promoted tab instead.

It's good that there's more progress. I just wish more of this would happen faster. We've been in Beta mode for a long time now. Thinking of my own experiences with "Early Access" computer games that never really get finished, it tends to turn people off eventually, if they feel like enough progress isn't/hasn't being made. I'm not saying that's happening now or tomorrow, but someday it could be a problem.

wow this is what most of us has been waiting for. As of the moment steem environment makes rich grow richer while the minnows are staying at the bottom like eternity.

As others have already stated, if account based voting means that all votes are equal, then those with multiple accounts will have the power bias. Currently, accounts can be bought - so we will just see a shift in the way that manipulation of the system takes place (many more accounts).

If the new onboarding system includes a strong form of identity verification then this problem maybe lessened, but it seems impractical to me currently.

I know there are some strong blockchain identity solutions out there. Hopefully Steem can use them to combat the issue. Definitely a work in progress

every change has certain speculation. if steemit will change better, I bet it will rolling up other social media because with the power of blockchain will become more transparent and stronger in appreciation of one post. Steemit users will be more extensive and can be sure new accounts will appear.

Whatever the change is, I think @ned and his team need to go back to drawing board to assertain whether steemit is on progressive course. There is much power in the hands of few who decides the voting pattern good content or not.
I have checked the contents of some who earn tons of valuable votes and those who barely earn a dime, it raises questions on what steemit is all about. It has been a case of minnows chasing the "Big Boys" in order to be noticed instead of of your quality contents. For a lasting sustainability let some changes be made.

I really want to believe in Steemit, I do, and there are lots of amazing people on here and stellar content as well - but I have a somewhat hard time with the priorities being worked on - seeing features fixed that were not a negative to any user I have talked to, while seeing other features ignored that are ubiqutously a thorn in most users' eyes - namely the ability to get articles trending that are trash simply because the user can afford to do so and then get rewarded for it to incentivize even further trash promotion for profit.

You have put in the work, many other users I connect with also have, and using bots on that is fine with me (when you know you have added value through your post). Seeing though how bots don't generally check for validity of the posts they upvote we will continue to see trash floating to the surface, while heartfelt and effort-filled posts go under because the author doesn't want to or can't afford the vote buying.

Would really like to see Ned address this when we talk about an "egalitarian community" - seems to me the biggest hurdle at the moment. I also hope we do get that vote counter back and aren't set up to forget it ever existed.

I totally agree. THis is the biggest philosophical hurdle for Steemit right now. This is a brand new issue. I think Steemit knows what the goal is, but how to get there is the question.

The major incentive to invest in Steem Power will disappear with with account based voting. This will likely make me power down and look for other opportunities to invest in myself and my community. However, I’m not sure Ned has plans of changing Steemit, I believe he’s laying out more options for those who are against stake weight voting via SMTs. Ned wants other great STEEM based sites to give options to those who see value in one account one vote. There is room for both philosophies on the Steem blockchain. Also, Minds.com has over 1mil accounts and already uses one account one vote method. If you hate Steemit I suggest Minds.com would be a place for you for the time being. Sure it’s not built on the STEEM blockchain, but who cares when you’re not investing in the actual platform, and you’re just looking to get the most “fair” payouts from other people’s investments.

There will always be ways to "game the system" I suppose, but it's nice to know the basic plan is still a democratic style of social media where the average Joe gets a chance to be heard, not censored.

There is news that appears frequently in the media these days. That is the news about Steam It. I look forward to hearing a lot of hopeful news.

I have to say the amount of abuse that happens from everyone having the same weight value on their votes is going to very much so be worse. Its not the solution I don't feel. There will be more double, triple account creations, more people begging or some rewards program where you pay for votes etc. Its just the nature of the beast. It also seems to eliminate the need for me to power up any of my steem now? Whats the point to buying and holding it if it does nothing for me now?

The incentives to hold SP would definitely change. That's a good point. The change is still a while off, but it will be interesting to watch it develop.

Though I'm late for this news but I'm glad to know about the upcoming changes of our #steemit , I want the change will bring more blessings, I'm thankful for your post @happymoneyman

i like the idea of bringing the best content at the top, but it depends of who are curators and who are the readers who decide what is a good content, because everybody has an opinion, so this could influence the future of steemit , we need to choose who are the right curators and the readers because this could bring to another issue like censorship.

1. I find great articiles when I look at trending. (not every one of them are amazing but there is plenty that is of interest.)

1. 1 vote per account is a HORRIBLE idea. #Bots4Everyone

2. People are too obsessed with trending being a perfect representation of "best quality". There are other ways to bring us the content we want.

3. "TRENDING" is more or less just a website page with an algorithm. It can be changed easier than you think. Another site could show a different page with a different algorithm... heck you could even have a browser plugin to do stuff like that.

Great point. Then trending algo is really easy to change. They could play with just how the trending page is sorted and have a lot of impact.

Ned is the driver of the "quality content" idea. One of his main goals is to find a way to sort the best content using cryptocurrency incentives. It would be great if the steemit inc team communicated their vision very clearly with the community.

I leave Steemit for a while, I come back, things flow, charts dance and I honestly never know where I'm at. I guess the question I keep making myself is, what is good content? and even when we might to a lot of research and so, how do we promote it? Can't say I've figured this one out properly yet.

Let me just play devils advocate here. If votes aren't not based on account value and instead on 1 vote per account, then what is the point of having or holding SP? Wouldn't this take the true intrinsic value away from Steem? If the developers are actually considering this, we should have a massive vote in or against favor. I think it's great that we are constantly innovating and improving Steemit, but I'm concerned one bad move could destroy the blockchain.

It could be from good to better, or vice versa from better to worse.So the only way to adapt those changes is for us to be aware of those changes. May Steemit continue to evolves with a better pace at the right cause!

Cool update. Innovation is messy and complicated sometimes. There's something to be said about drudging forward despite all that.

There are some features that other platforms have had standard for a while that I miss. I see others posting about them too (like embedding github gists). I sense that the standard features will come as the broader vision gets ironed out.

What is with the bots that sell many upvotes? Right now it makes sense to have plenty of Steem on one account, but with the one user one vote rule, it would become most profitable to have 100s of accounts with little Steem that have only the purpose to upvote your content. Given the possibility of creating anonymous accounts, I don't see how that kind of distortion of the voting power can be prevented. What would be the solution for this?

Well I agree that 1 Account = 1 Vote would be better to get the best content to the Top. but on the other hand a lot of people could just start to create multiple Accounts. And on the other hand why would someone hold SteemPower if he doesn t have more votingpower ?

I embrace change. I'm happy to see it not stay strictly a blogging platform and strictly this or that. I think evolution is beautiful and progress is how to keep things alive. Many disagree though lol. Thanks for being excited about changes ahead.

We need a change in the voting system because it's definitely being manipulated. No matter if one is posting great content it's often being overlooked. The big fishes in the see is only helping themselves.
