Yes, agreed, we do have the capacity and the potential. And that is a good thing.
We need some sort of assertiveness and maybe even greediness to cope with the needs of survival.
A man in the wilderness might have to ward off wild animals or hoard a food supply for winter or hard times.
But here is my point.
A man, alone in the wilderness will hardly take a dump into his own water supply, rape Bambi and kick random trees just because he has an "evil" nature. Most off-grid people live a pretty peaceful life in balance with nature.
What about socialization?
Our brains have the capacity to keep track of about 160 relationships. That means, if you live in a community of about 160 people, you know who everybody is. You do favors, you owe favors, you help those in need and receive help. If you do something the community does not condone, everybody will know. You will think twice to lose your face in a society where everybody knows what you do.
When I grew up, I spent the first ten years of my life in a small village, the next ten in a small town in Austria. No crime. No murder, nor burglary, no car theft, no violence whatsoever. There was no need to lock your front door or your car. People worked together peacefully and had an eye out for each other. THAT is our TRUE nature.
Later, when I grew up I started to read newspapers. I could read about murders in America, a drought in Africa, a war in Korea and a train wreck in China.
About people cheating, stealing, murdering and raging wars. I started to believe that people are bad. So much crime everywhere...
Then the television came and the crimes got more and more. Not in my neighborhood, but in so many places around the world.
By reporting only the bad, violent news the impression was created, that crime is EVERYWHERE.
Then the music became more aggressive and violent. The ballads and simple songs of our ancestors turned into "Rock and Roll".
Into "Sympathy for the Devil" from the Rolling Stones and into "Booty Sweat" and "Cop Killer" in modern Rap music.
Violent video games which make acts like shooting and killing people completely abstract, FUN and normalize this behavior.
This is done INTENTIONALLY. This is NOT OUR NATURE.
Small, functioning communities have been and still are being destroyed by large corporations.
People are getting either forced into cities through economic necessities created by the parasites or by seduction and promises of a "better life" also created by the same parasites.
We are being manipulated to the benefit of the parasites. To rage THEIR wars, to make money for THEM.
We are only too good and too naive and fall for the scheme.
