We live unfortunately, with a government that doesn't want to help, only hurt. Good Lord if the number of people here living in RVs with their kids had CPS on their butts, there'd be absolutely no one able to get into the shelter,!! Some just don't know when to leave well enough alone! There's a program here that's sposed to be a transitional housing program for homeless families however they charge rent of like 400-500 and for some families that's just not doable!! Then there's all sorts of rules and expectations they place on the families that make it almost impossible to achieve independence. It just blows my mind!

Hey @hickorymack! Its nice to get you. Your story and those beautiful children have really touched quite a few of us here.

Of course there are many things you can do that would be awesome. First, I would suggest that you get in touch with @luanne as she is the person that brought your story to my attention. She has some contacts in your area, so she said she would see what could come of that.

Also I think there are many people that would like to "help you" to "help yourself" get through this. So there are many awesome things about steemit that just might give you that opportunity. First you can tell a very good story. That is a natural talent that can be refined and help you earn some additional money.

Next, I think it would be good if we open your story up to our members and let them get to know you and we can essentially all put our heads together. You certainly did a good job with your introduction, but I can set up a more extensive Q & A type format where you can communicate directly to questions that people will have.

Finally, I think your story places you in a position to appeal to many out there that are sick of the rules of big government and how we are losing/if not have lost our liberties. I think that you could do well as an advocate on these issues.

Most important right now is that you get ahold of @luanne and let her and you get to know each other. And if you both can set up a time that works for you, then we can get together by phone or internet or whatever form of communication works for you.

I think there are many people that want to help you, so I'm so glad that you joined steemit and told us part of your story. You got the attention of me and @luanne, but you also got the attention of many of the bigger players on steemit like @abh12345 who saw my post and jumped immediately to let his network know. He is a member of a club called #stewardsofgondor that are truly great people with a huge heart. Also there are others that are far bigger than me that also might want to help like those will real clout that upvoted you like @hendrikdegrote @acidyo and @runicar. I work 7-3, though the last couple of weeks have been hit-or-miss due to illness striking the trio.

I'm going to write a post right now and see if we can get you a workable phone so that you can stay connected to steemit on the days that you aren't at work and we can teach you how to earn extra money.

And I see that there are far bigger fish here that have come to your aid... I think they know more than I do, so I hope you follow through with their advice...

Ok we have a smartphone coming to you so that you can view your steemit.. We had a very quick reply to my post from @crystalize and she offered to immediately get you one shipped. Staying connected and being able to learn how steemit functions is very key going forward. This phone should help you to speed up your learning process, so I'm very excited for you!

I will also find a way to put it on a "straight talk" pay as you go plan from walmart so that you can use a phone plan that is 30 days at a time. We will also work with you to afford that plan, and will get you started by getting you the first phone card which will get you 30 days. From there we can work with you to do different things and hopefully help you to earn enough money to take care of all of your needs.

So I need your address to be able to have the phone sent to you. You might not want to put it here online. So you can either contact @luanne and tell her, contact me via email or call me by phone if you have access to one. Just tell me which you prefer and I will get you the proper contact info!

Two people showed up at my camper door that day, a man and a woman. The man was the one throwing threats around, he kept asking about how I was keeping it warm. Well, with the camper running and a heater going it isn't all that difficult to warm it.

The move from your cosy camper to the shelter sounds forced on you by Child services sounds ridiculous and dangerous for you and the kids. I do not understand this at all.

Thank you very much. I still don't understand it myself. As i said there some really good people here, and it helps temper the worst of things. But there's still that fear. Hurrying to stay a block ahead of the man behind you screaming obscenities at... No one at all. It's a strange world to be so suddenly thrust into the middle of.

change state asap ! find job option, internationally eventually. the biggest risk is to enter a personal territorial battle with those cps and their support network where you are.

as you can't go cartel on them (which is the fastest and safest way to handle those kind of nuisances), think on moving. The advantage of not going cartel is that you aren't a fugitive. you can still move freely and easily.

I've been homeless several times in my life... mostly my choice because I chose to travel and live out of my truck.. but other times there was no choice.. and it sucks.. when I was doing it there was only me and a girlfriend (A ex now) ... no kids... no dogs.. kudos to you for keeping it together this long..especially in Minnesota... I'd definitely head south if I could lol... keep being positive and positive things will happen.. keep on blogging and maybe Steemit can help..

I have been homeless a few times in my life. I have never felt ashamed at any of the times when this happened to me. I was also employed on both occasions. Yeah, there are a lot of stereotypes about homelessness and they are all wrong.

This story is absolutely heartbreaking. I admire your persistence, and the fact that you continually keep trying. It seems like you have had your share of bad luck, and I genuinely hope, with everything I have, that your luck turns around. You and your kids deserve it.

I am so sorry you're dealing with this. We lost our house and raised our kids in a converted bus for almost three years. We were so often one step away from homelessness and the thought of CPS during those years were terrifying. I hope you are able to find a better solution soon.

This is why CPS pissed me off, you are trying to take care of your kids and you want them. Yet when someone doesn’t want their kids, lives in a very contaminated home, and uses food stamps to buy drugs they don’t care. They say well they are in a home, even though the house is infested and their parents do drugs. If I had the money I would help you but all that I can do is say I hope your situation gets better. 😔

It's very worrying. I read stories about heartbreaking deaths of children in the hands of CPS, and they had their sights on us. I have constant nightmares about it.

Yes it is! There was someone that lives in the same town as me and my fiancé. They strangled their 4 month old because he wouldn’t stop crying. Come to find out they were visited 4 times by the CPS. It is sickening.

I hear you @hickorymack. I have lived paycheck to paycheck for decades.

What about the father? He needs to be paying some child support right now. Do you have a caseworker or some sort of helpful social services person? There has GOT to be some housing for you. (I received off-site low income housing in which the rent was reflective of what I made the previous month.) It takes time and effort (and loads of patience) to fill out the paperwork but there has got to be some safety nets available.

My boy took Metavvi (sp) classes before we had to leave the Blueberry farm in progress. He was unable to continue after that. Mostly I just keep them with me at all times when they are not at school.

I have personally been homeless before. I have made it a point to convey just how easy it can happen in the blink of an eye, and many people in this world have a hard time accepting and believing it. It's the human condition to assume that you must be a flawed individual who put yourself there. I believe this to be the case because no one wants to think about this shit. It's hard to prepare for something, when financial instability isn't always the easiest thing to fix. I commend you for being brave enough to share your story, and the fact that your doing your damndest to keep those little rug rats fed and healthy, shows your a good mommy. I'm really happy to see this post has gained recognition. You deserve it honey.

We can create good group of people from all around the world that have one thing in common, we want to help others in our own way,if we wish. but many times we can't find humanity in modern world. and that cz many times we scared. We need always helping hand for help each other. If we help each other then we can make a digital world.

I empaphise with this story so much. I know of this stress only too well. I am threatened with eviction at least twice a year because money is so tight. The authorities do not help people in debt(when it's over a certain amount). This is happening all over the UK right now and we have a huge Homeless problem. This post makes my heart sink. Especially now you are being persecuted by the cps. I write for a group on here that you may want to get to know. They will help your cause for sure. 1 000 000 X 1000 (low monthly cost) X 12 (to get to a year) = 12Billions !

In theory your numbers seem to add up, of course it is a low estimate of 12000 per year per migrant... you have to include everything from housing, feeding, clothing, insuring, schooling, infrastructure and social service load etc.

I wouldn't mind paying 40 or 50% taxes if it means a family has a roof over their head, or if it meant a family could afford to have their 10 year old get chemo treatment, or that the child genius born in the slums could with a bit of hard work be able to go to uni and not have to be afraid to apply because of money.

The country is not out of funds. The federal government creates new money every time it spends and the only thing that limits their spending is 1) whether or not there are enough things for them to buy and 2) whether or not they understand 1.

is there a theory on why this is?

I do tend to believe the intention and purpose with the CPAs around the world is good. I know almost nothing about the US CPA, but I have had some experiences with the Norwegian child protection authorities (barnevernet) - both first hand, second hand and through media reports. Let me assume for a while that this applies to "CPA"s everywhere. Some thoughts:

• We only hear about one side of the story - when some parents tell their version to the media, they can claim anything and hide whatever. The government officials have no rights to comment on the cases. I believe that at least here in Norway, a child would not be taken away from the parents without a very good reason (usually violence, alcoholism or drug abuse). Whenever there are cases like this in the media, probably there are some dark secrets that we haven't heard of. Even close friends may hide or understate their darkest secrets. Truth is, some people simply aren't fit for being parents - and they may not even realize it themselves.

• Perhaps in most of the cases the agency does the right thing, in some few cases they do really terrible things, destroying families and only making things worse for the children they are supposed to protect. Of course, only the worst examples gets through to the media, so when reading stories ... one is to believe the CPA is all bad and nothing good. (every now and then there are also cases reported in the media where the CPA absolutely should have intervened, but didn't - in the hindsight it's always easy to point out that someone haven't been doing their job).

• Quite some of the employees at the CPA are young ladies, without any life experience and without any parental experience. They may do terrible things, still believing they do what is best for the child.

• Children have very different personalities. There has been a report in media recently here in Norway - and it's our experience as well - that the threshold for personnel in schools and kindergardens to file a report with the CPA is very low for children that are outside the "normal" (i.e. ADHD), this can cause conflicts and problems.

• Cultural differences - what one party may think is completely OK may be very not-OK for someone else. On the extreme, there are quite many immigrants here in Norway that thinks it's completely ok to spank naughty children ... but that's an extreme no-no here in Norway, if there is a significant risk that the child may get spanked it will be taken away from its parents. I'd actually side with the CPA in such cases, that's not the way to raise children ... at least not in Norway! Weather it's OK to live in a caravan or not, that may also be sort of a "cultural difference". In this case, I'd side completely with the poster, as long as the children are healthy and happy, it's completely OK to live in a mobile home! It even looks very cozy from the pictures!

• The CPA does have a quite awkward job after all - damned if they do, damned if they don't. The solid evidence is often missing, but still they have to do what they believe is the best for the children. It's for sure not a good situation.

• Bureaucrazy! (misspelling intended). Create a simple rule like ... "parents need to be registered with a permanent address of residence", and cases can be decided without involving belief, feelings or personal opinions ... it also saves time, effort and taxpayers money, it's not even needed to visit the family and check how they are living. Unfortunately such rules does not always make sense, and there may be many reasons why the rules don't fit everyone (in Norway we even have natives that have been living a nomadic lifestyle for a countless number of generations ... still, one is very much supposed to be living permanently on one address in this country, particularly if having children).

Do you really think that this post of an obvious abuse of power, and a family put in despair by this wretched system, is THE PLACE to give your very LONG comment about how great the system is? Jeesh.
If you really want to discuss this do so on another @familyprotection post where a debate on these issues would be more appropriate.

If you read my comment that way, I think you should read it again. In this case I absolutely side with the poster.

The post was about a family put in despair - but the part about being harassed by the CPA was just a small part of it all - and the poster got through with it. Still the most upvoted and visible comment on this post is one attacking the CPAs around the world. That's also not quite right in my opinion.

I absolutely believe there is a lot of wrongdoings done by the CPAs of the world, but still there may be a need for such agencies.

CPS all over the country- gets PAID a BONUS for each child they take away! They are not incentivize to keep families together.

CPS is a corrupt criminal racket. I believe you are like the majority who just don't realize it yet because you were raised believing that the system was put into place for a good reason. I was almost, sort of, in the same boat-- and almost, sort of, used to believe the same thing.

Not everyone is a kind hearted person. The agencies; enabled by the personal choices of their employees are vile, and there is plenty of evidence to support the fact. You could start with looking into Former Senator Nancy Schaefer's work if you truly want to comprehend what is happening on a large scale all over the world right now with these agencies. I've seen it myself, so I know. Brick by brick they are isolating families in a methodical manner so that the masses won't put two and two together in time to help eachother. There's a lot of documentary work on the horrors being perpetrated by these agencies. If you really believe what you have said above, I would implore you to look a little deeper into the issue. I'm not trying to offend anyone (unless you steal babies for pedo's for a living) with this comment, but we've been lied to people. It's about control, domination, and is part of that big picture everyone is trying to suss out. The dots are all there to be connected.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's a case in some countries, with commercial entities running big orphanages and bribing officials. In other countries and time periods, maybe the CPS is abused for political control, i.e. targeting parents by their political views. I wouldn't be surprised if "someone told us the parents are socialists" would be sufficient reason for the US CPA to react under the McCarthy age. But if you're implying that all the CPSes around the world has some kind of shared agenda ... then I must say, that do sound like one of the more crazy conspiracy theories to me.

Parkinson's law may be relevant though, any bureaucratic organization do have some internal growth pressure.

Such a system can only be based either on personal opinions from their employees or on stupid rules (like "you must be registered on a permanent address of living"), both things may be equally bad - yet, what are the alternatives? While for some the obvious answer would be "kill the whole agency", I do believe it's important with such an agency; children do have rights, and they are not able to look after their rights all by themselves.

As an adult I became a foster parent wanting to help out and found even more corruption. Than I became a Guardian Ad Litem and got to know the system even more. So I have made it my mission to spread awareness of what exactly CPS is and why I call it a beast. Like for instance 61% of the cases children are removed from their home are considered Neglect and not abuse. Neglect is a VERY wide category and is VERY open to interpretation. INFORMING THE MASSES - A short list of some of the abuses against @Noganoo by Satanic whales on Steemit.

For those of you who are unaware @Noganoo was sexually abused when he was 5 years old. Bernie Sanders learned this from Fyrstikken whom Noganoo trusted and confided in and then was betrayed and slandered by Fyrstikken whom Noganoo brought to Steemit. Noganoo only requested that Fyrstikken send back the 10 Bitcoins he stole from SatoshiHorizon through his “altcoin investment fund.” Noganoo stood up against Bernie's flag abuse towards SeaBlue which caused the war that you are seeing today. Bernie swore to destroy Noganoo because Noganoo defended the helpless minnows on Steemit. Below are just a few of the terrible insults they have spoken against this Christian man. Please visit @Noganoo's blog and support and encourage him through these demonic attacks as his old friends have forsaken him. Not only do these people verbally attack Noganoo but they antagonize him until he responds in anger, then they sent the FBI to his house for "threatening." Noganoo has requested to all of the whales on steemit directly for them to speak to these 2 fraudsters and tell them to stop. Not a word was said in one year and now he is resorting to further action. The abuse will stop. If you have any information as to the identity or whereabouts of BernieSanders or Pfunk please contact abuse@steem.in. There is a substantial reward and you can remain anonymous. Noganoo is unable to file a restraining order against these 2 until he finds their identity. BernieSanders is a pedophile and should not be rewarded with upvotes on Steemit.

First of all let's go back to before this all started. Noganoo was investigating the fraud and theft of 10s of millions of dollars of rewards by Donkeypong, Gavvet, Sauravrungta, HanshotFirst, Kevinwong, The-Alien, JrCornel, Sweetsssj and Knozaki2015 with their organization called "SteemGuild" where they used the Steemit Co-founder Ned's account to vote for themselves instead of the "minnows" they claimed to be supporting. Go look at all of their current account values and you can see that over 1 year ago Noganoo was right! They paid themselves multi-millions for only a couple months of curating on Steemit. Something the rest of us do for free. You can see that these people and their friends are the only people who have ever attacked Noganoo. They are trying to cover up their theft. If you go back on the blockchain you can see Noganoo's accounts previously supported most of these authors with his thousand bot voters early on in the platforms launch. https://steemd.com/@sweet-banana?page=17 Then Noganoo called out The-Alien for his common use of the word "Motherfucker" in his fiction stories that were upvoted by their "Steemguild" to number one on trending every day to "raise money for the guild." Fact is they stole millions of dollars. This rebuke prevented Noganoo from ever getting an upvote from that guild which controlled over 30% of the voting power on Steemit at the time.

Just the thought of something like this happening to me scares me to death. I don’t think I would know what the heck to do. Kudos for hanging in there and showing the rest of us the way of resilience.

When CPS came my first thought was "run!!!!" So much freaking panic. There is no way to know what you would do until the moment arrives.

Thank you. I often wonder who it was. Who felt that they needed to do something so vile, without even bothering to come to me with their concerns, first... I don't know if I do want to know, I feel such anger toward an unnamed person.

I've had people call Inhuman Services on my family before over the dumbest shit. One time my now 18 year old daughter who is mildly epilileptic had her first seizure in the bathroom f a fast food place. Her grandmother called the ambulance and she ended up going to a follow up doctors visit. This was just weeks after I was in a car wreck where I lost my wife(their mother) and I was not able to walk, so their grandmother took her to her appointment. I forgot to give my mother in law my daughter's insurance, which we had more than adequete insurance. So the receptionist decided to report us to children services because she thought my daughter didn't have health insurance.... Humans like that aren't worth anything IMO. Funny thing about your story is that is a nice RV you have them in. Most summers, my kids are camping and we're traveling and they either live in a tent or in an RV all summer. Even living in a home is little more than glorified camping. The authorities need to get a grip.

We met many brothers and sisters in the community who were avoiding shelters while in our camper. One elderly man was sleeping in his pick-up with his dog. A younger couple were living in a van. It feels really hopeless when you're in the middle of it all.

Yes, you can count on the State and County to make a difficult situation into a disaster. Hang in there. You are obviously a survivor. My mother raised four of us alone in similar circumstances. When you come out the other side you will be stronger.

I feel your pain! my family and have been struggling with homelessness for almost a year now and have just barely kept ourselves out of shelters. We've been bouncing from families couches to sleeping in our van - the threat of CPS finding out is a constant strain on my heart!
- We have found t nearly impossible to find anyone to rent to us either. We don't have an eviction but we do have terrible credit and my husband has 5 felonies so you know, landlords automatically deem us worthy to be homeless. this world is such a mess! we have had money for first,last and security in a new place about 4 times over the last year and even with cash in our pockets could not find a single place who would over look our credit/background issues and rent to us! It's so exhausting.

The RV is in the shelter's parking lot. My dog is still living in it. We keep it heated and spend as much time with him as we can. I have made the decision to send him to foster care, though. He's so lonely. 😥

Why dont you then leave the system, the same ones who shit on you? there are many of us who have left, we grow our own food on unused land and live in unused houses. I know its more a challenge with kids but i know many nomad familys with children. Or migrate to a different country, one with space and sun to grow foods, plus you WILL meet others who have left the corruption, and are living freely with familys in alternative living situations. you get an upvote or course! I'm not here for criticism, I want to point out and share my thoughts. Very sad to hear what happened to your family. What gets me sad, how US citizens don't teach their kids at home or at school to avoid loans and credit cards or to build a financial cushion. As well I notice most of them don't think about tomorrow or what they will eat tomorrow. It became normal daily life to use credit cards left and right, and slowly but surely it gets them in debts. It's enough to have a small incident in life and then good people ending up on streets! This is only my point of view and I've been myself in a similar situation.

Hi, @hickorymack! I do care! I understand what you're going through, not because I was in a situation like yours, but because at our Charity we were involved in helping the homeless. Here in Romania it was very difficult and still is for the homeless. Many young people from shelters, when they are 18 years old, are kicked out of the shelter and reach the street. It seems like the social system is about the same all over the world. I wish you and your girls manage to rehabilitate you as soon as possible. And I hope from all my heart that most Steemians vote your post.

Your story is sad and amazing at the same time, I can do little else than upvote it and wish you all well, but I know that you will be able to do it on your own.

I genuinely feel for you. My suggestion is not to ever talk to CPS or let them have access to your kids again. If the case is closed and you have documentation of that... Keep it, and don't let them in again. Legally they cannot do anything but try to scare the hell out of you if you refuse to talk to them on any new case they try to re-open. Stay inside (if you have an inside) and keep the door closed to them. They can do nothing unless you invite them in, unless they have an order from a judge in hand and you see it and read it yourself first.

Be wise, do everything you can to fortify yourself against any further encroachment by them. They rarely stay gone. CPS have been know to tell people cases are closed, and they will still keep coming up with new reasons to push into your business.

Get savvy on the laws and your rights. Know that both; well paid lawyers, and free court appointed attorneys are often going to mislead you. Attorneys work for the court, not you, and there is a legal difference between Lawyers and attorneys, but I'm not the one to tell you about it because it's an in depth topic.

Agencies and courts get paid when families are in dire straights, not when families are doing well... So just do your best to remain strong and know you are not alone. There's many thousands of families being abused by those agencies and the courts.

Be strong, don't let them emotionally trigger you, remain centered, and balanced no matter what "games" they play. That is what 'they' call it behind closed doors. "Games". Hard to believe, but true.

Teach your children, discretely, to be savvy if they get approached by those kind of people so they cannot be manipulated.

I know you haven't asked for my advice, but these people rarely go away after one visit. Don't be worried so you create it, but be wise.

Breaks my heart to see this kind of thing still continues. It is all being done by design and once we can see it... we can change the direction things are heading in.

Document everything... Get copies of ALL doctors records if you can, and keep them in case they start disappearing. (Maybe they won't but it's a tactic that's often used.) Better to be safe than sorry on that one. And be careful who you tell your private business to, but try to have at least one person you can talk to... don't let anyone isolate you. I think for that reason alone it's awesome you have shared your story on here! Isolation is something 'they' aim for. Then 'they' attack your mental health. (hopefully you won't have this problem because they are really gone in your case!) When all else fails... Step back and take a deep breath, and get back up again.

Most things in this world are an illusion that we allow to take up residence in our minds. The fragile system people rely upon could indeed crumble under their feet at any moment for many various reasons. So you are right, it's best not to look upon those we know nothing about and cast judgement. We've been taught to rely upon a system that is built on lies when we choose to see it for what it is we can make a difference for others. Your post will surely help many people! This comment has gotten way too long, I hope I'm not breaking some kind of Steemit rules with it, because I'm pretty new on here. :O Lol

I've seen people living in tiny houses smaller than your RV. I see no crime is living in a small space and making the best of it. While I realise it was not your choice, perhaps some day you'll have money for a house, even if just a tiny one, on an off-grid lot, shared by other tiny house people.

I hope you find a way to live in a way that will make you feel happy. But what I see here, is someone who takes care of her children, loves them, and despite the evils she has faced, has managed to make life work for her, somehow. As far as I'm concerned, there's not a darn thing wrong with living in an RV with your kids while you get on your feet. I imagine you could probably carve out a pretty awesome life in an RV. But .gov isn't going to let you do that because there's lots of property owners who would rather have you pay them rent. Except none of them will have you either. So carve out a life in that RV. I am acutely aware of how easy it is to lose everything given bad circumstances in life. I know what you earn on these posts is just a drop in the bucket, but I hope it starts to help you move forward. You writing is from the heart and that whats makes is so powerful, I hope you keep it up.

Wow, I seriously hope the best for you and send so much good energy your way. My hope is to buy property so that I can help house families like yours! Not standing up for landlords or anything but cities make it hard for me to even try to provide housing to people. Nosey neighbors have called on me in the past for housing 4 people in a 4 bedroom house because we aren't all related... I'm not allowed to let a friend park their camper in my driveway... and on and on. I really hope you can find a way out! In fact, I know you can! What do you do for a living and what do you love?

Never answer the door if you don't know who it is ever again. If they have cops with them ask to see the search warrant. Don't open the door if they don't have it.

I used to work at MCTC downtown. Had a student living out of her car, because the pipes froze in her apartment and the landlord wouldn't put her up anywhere. This was in 2013, in the middle of the polar vortex that hit the state. Where it was so cold that exposed skin would freeze in 5 minutes. And the worst part? I couldn't do anything or I'd lose my job. I have to maintain minimal relations with the students as a staff member.

I can empathize with you being a single parent also. It is not easy but, you are doing a great job taking care of your children! We will be praying for you! As the good Lord has said and I always remember during the struggles, "This too shall pass". God Bless!

it's obviously abuse of there power. We can solve this problem if we all try to do something for them . your sharing story is really very heart teaching story . If you really want to discuss this do so on another familyprotection post where a debate on those issuse..your thinking is really very great ...

I came across your story via @davemccoy and from what I read you got yourself back on your feet, which I find amazing, congratulations.

I've been close to homelessness myself plenty of times, but never actually got that far (thank God).

I applaud you and everything you've done to keep your kids safe and protected, you deserve all the support us Steemians and others can offer you.
