The gloomy sunset reminds me of old age. The darkness symbolizes the dark side of human life.
When I am watching my mom going through dementia. She is 73, but the way her health is declining is so bitterly painful for all of us, especially for my daughter, who is the apple of an eye of her grandmother!!
I have five sisters, and each of us is responding to this issue in her own unique way!!
We have always seen her very strong from the time we opened our eyes. Perhaps that's the reason we feel very sad when we find her getting more vulnerable and helpless as the days are passing by!!
I think we all are helpless in front of nature. Nature is very powerful. It transforms a cute baby into a youthful teenager and then from a passionate young man to a decent gentleman, and then finally slowly and gradually, the process of decline begins.
Sometimes, I ponder deeply on the phenomenon of old age. Yes, it's a bitter truth, but we all have to experience this episode of our lives. Are we brave enough to face this bitter truth of life?
I pray from the depth of my heart that may God give me an easy exit from life, not after experiencing a lot of pain and misery.
My ideal old age is a very healthy and fit one in which we get a lot of spare time to spend with our grandchildren and old friends , indulging into wonderful hobbies and recreation!!
We all have our own unique vision of an ideal old age. Lets see what nature has in store for us at this phase of life!!
All my sisters want to contribute to the caring of elderly mom. We all work as a teem and also a lot of individual efforts going on to help mom cope with her condition.
One of my sisters is dealing with medical issues. The doctors visits, medicine setting, and consulting the doctor in case of any complaints.
Me, being a stay at home mom, having a grown-up daughter , sharing the same house with my parents, giving her company and support most of the time.
I have two sisters living nearby. The youngest sister helps part-time to care for her, and the other one helps during emergencies.
Last but not least , my dad also takes a great part in supporting my mom!! How amazing to see my dad being very fit at the age of 75 and also helping mom by giving her company and arranging her medicines!!
