DUO stands for Dividends, Upvotes and Onboarding. It's a token created by the Hive Onboarding Community. The goal of the HOC is to ultimately help onboard and encourage those who are new to Hive. DUO will help fund HOC onboarding efforts and will also provide dividends, a tipping bot, as well as curation for DUO stakers.

Curation
- You must stake 200 DUO minimum to be eligible for curation and dividends
- Our goal is to curate the top DUO stakers (This number may fluctuate over time)
- We will use 20% of the voting mana to ensure all those curated receive maximum votes
- One vote per day
As the value of the vote increases, the vote weight will be reviewed and adjusted to potentially include more DUO holders as the project grows. Since the founders of the project will hold a significant stake, we are committing to receive 50% less of the vote weight that all other DUO holders will receive for curation. We reserve the right to withhold curation from those found spamming, plagiarizing, and other activities that do not contribute to the growth of Hive and/or abuse the reward pool.
Tokenomics Breakdown
- 10,000,000 cap (Pre-mined)
- 200,000 DUO reserved for sales
- 8.3 million DUO reserved for tipping
- 500,000 reserved for special sales, giveaways and promotions
- 1 week to unstake, 1 transaction
- 1 million DUO reserved as a 15% total fee for maintaining the project, to be paid monthly (@bitcoinman 5% / @bulliontools 5% / @thebighigg 5%)
At the end of each month, the total HP earned by the project will be paid out to the founders in DUO, based on the market price of DUO.
Example: If in one month the project earns 50 HP and DUO is selling for 1 Hive each, then the founders are paid 50 DUO split three ways, rounded. So, the founders would be paid 18 DUO each (50 ÷ 3 = 18.33).
While the project is in its infancy, the founders will keep these payments in DUO liquid, so as to not dilute the earnings of project supports earning dividends for staking. They also will not sell until all DUO tranche and promotional sales have completely sold out.

Hive Power Use
Most of the Hive Power will be used to curate. This will be done in a few ways.
- 25% delegated to the HOC account to curate those onboarded by us
- The remaining HP will be used to curate DUO token holders who are in the top of the rich list, based on the number of staked DUO
- Power downs will be done weekly, with 90% of HP earned being returned to all DUO holders in daily Hive payments (This ensures we can continue to grow the account's curation ability, which will compound dividends as well)
Dividends
For the first month, all tokens earned from curating will be held and staked, to create a baseline for a curation trail.
Afterwards, 90% of all tokens, HBD, etc., earned through curating and posting will be sold on the market and converted to Hive, to be paid out daily to those who have staked 200 DUO or more. The remaining 10% will be staked or held to gain interest, curate, etc., and build the account slowly over time.
