So apparently a while after my first post here (introductory post) I went AWOL. Can I explain why it happened ? No I can't but I will try. I think some events happened leading to me becoming emotionally withdrawn , I didn't care about my relationship with both friends and family, I mean I ceased every opportunity to block out any 'unnecessary' form of interaction. I was sometimes very irritated at the sound of my phone ringing, I could go a few days without bothering to charge my phone. Socializing became a problem for me. Did I contemplate suicide..... No,,,,,,,,am not sure. I am usually a quite person but people who really knew me sensed they was something really wrong and I am so grateful I was found out on time.

Depression has silently slipped into our communities without us noticing. Growing up I knew and heard of the word but it was mostly in 'oyibo films' so I concluded it could only affect oyibo people (whites) but it's actually just like death, it knows neither race, class, age nor gender.

It slowly grips you and before you know what's happening it's full blown and turns into a tragedy.
Sometimes it is confused for mood swings but my friends please check it. If the mood swings are becoming too frequent check yourself. Do a mental review and try to understand how you feel. On the other hand, check on that family member or friend who hasn't checked on you for a while, it won't kill you. You'll never know you could be someone's SAVIOUR. More importantly GET HELP. Talk to someone your trust about how you feel,get a new hobby, travel, meet new people, be happy and positive, enjoy life, make friends and fall in love ♥ but with the right people. Learn to love yourself, you are beautiful, unique and intelligent. Do not allow anybody make you feel less.
