Hi everyone, a few days ago at a friend's house, while we were struggling with a loose screw on one of our laptops, we started looking for something to help us remove the darn screw. It was literally preventing us from cleaning it and changing the thermal paste. Well, while going through some drawers and cabinets, we came across some things that brought back memories for me, and for others, it was the first time they'd ever seen them. I could say it was exciting, because among books and office supplies, a brand new, unopened box of floppy disks appeared before us.

>Hola a todos, hace unos días en casa de un amigo mientras teníamos una lucha contra un tornillo aislado de la laptop de uno de los que estábamos allí, nos pusimos a buscar algo que nos ayudara a sacar el dichoso tornillo puesto literal estaba impidiendo realizar una limpieza y el cambio de pasta térmica de la misma, y bueno, entre revisar algunos cajones y gavetas, nos encontramos con algunas cosas que para mí fueron un golpe al recuerdo y para otros era la primera vez que lo veían, y es que podría decir que fue emocionante, pues entre libros y material de oficina apareció ante nosotros una caja totalmente nueva y sin abrir de disquetes.

Surprisingly, I feel that having a box of these in good condition this year is more than an achievement; it's even a way of preserving a memory of what old technology was like. These were 3.5-inch IMATION floppy disks, IBM DS/HD format, with a storage capacity of 1.44 MB. That's what would now be a thousandth of a fraction of some cache we delete on some device, but back then they did store information. My aunt used to keep many of them with various things from her classes or memories, so I'm definitely surprised at how far things have come.

The truth is, we were really eager to open the box, but it wasn't ours, so we only admired it from the outside. We also saw some other things that weren't quite as old, but one of them, which had gone from being one of the most essential items to being remembered by only a few, even though it was only a few years ago, was an internet modem. We were able to open it; it was a Movistar brand and even still had a SIM card in it. It made me nostalgic because, when I started university, I knew someone who always had one of these on each side, and for one of the guys there, it was like seeing a relic. I couldn't say if it still works, but I feel like it's one of those things, along with the box of floppy disks, that I'd put on a shelf as a retro memento.

Así mismo, también pudimos observar otras cositas no tan antiguas, pero sí es cierto que una de ellas pasó de ser de las cosas más indispensables a ya ser recordada por pocos e incluso siendo hace pocos años, y esto era una Bam de internet. Esta sí la pudimos abrir; era marca Movistar e incluso aún tenía un chip puesto. A mí me dio nostalgia porque, empezando la universidad, tenía una conocida que siempre tenía uno así para cada lado y para uno de los chicos que estaba allí fue como ver una reliquia. No sabría decir si funciona aún, pero siento que es de esas cosas, junto con la caja de disquetes, que tendría en una repisa como recuerdos retro.

Finally, also in this house there was a router from the national brand CANTV that, although it is not very old, really caught my attention for one detail and that is the size and robust design with its metal casing; Typically, most of these are plastic. Even I have the first model in my house, which was a modem without the issue of Wi-Fi connection, and this is made of a plastic that in these years is already asking for change, so my curiosity about this device was great due to the design and format, in addition to the fact that surprisingly it still had the protective plastic, so it is practically new. I would have liked to try it, but in that house they have another type of connection and internet company, so this router is used as decoration.

>Por último, también en esta casa había un router de la marca nacional CANTV que, aunque no es muy antiguo, la verdad me llamó la atención por un detalle y este es el tamaño y diseño robusto con su carcasa de metal; normalmente, la mayoría de estos son de plástico. Incluso yo tengo en mi casa el primer modelo, que era módem sin el tema de conexión wifi, y este es de un plástico que en estos años ya pide cambio, por lo que mi curiosidad por este aparato fue grande por el diseño y formato , además de que sorprendentemente aún tenía el plástico protector, por lo que está prácticamente nuevo. Me hubiera gustado probarlo, pero en esa casa poseen otro tipo de conexión y compañía de internet, así que está como decoración este router.
