Hola querida comunidad @ladiesofhive

Simplemente me escuchó.

Y ambas cosas terminan siendo valiosas.

Gracias por este espacio de reflexión

Un abrazo sincero para todas

Help That Arrives at the Right Time… and Hobbies That Do Not Turn Out as Expected

Hello dear @ladiesofhive community

There are experiences that stay with us because of the help we receive when we need it most. And there are others that make us smile when we remember the enthusiasm with which they began.

1️⃣ Has anyone helped you during your most difficult moment? How did they help?

I do not know if it was the most difficult moment of my life, but I do remember a particularly challenging period during my first years working at the hospital.

There were days when I felt the weight of responsibility in an overwhelming way. Even though I had studied for years to become a doctor, discovering that behind every diagnosis and every decision there were real people with worries, fears, and families was something no textbook could fully teach.

I remember one especially exhausting shift when I ended up questioning whether I was truly prepared for all of it.

That was when a more experienced colleague noticed what I was going through.

She did not do anything extraordinary or give a great motivational speech. She simply listened.

She told me about her own beginnings, her insecurities, and the mistakes she feared making when she was young.

That conversation helped me far more than she probably realized.

I understood that feeling insecure did not mean I was incapable. It meant I cared deeply about doing my job well.

Sometimes we think helping someone means solving their problems. Yet often the most valuable help is simply accompanying a person until they find confidence in themselves again.

2️⃣ Have you ever spent money on a hobby thinking it would change your life, only to realize later it was a funny mistake?

Yes, and it still makes me smile when I think about it.

A few years ago, I decided that photography was going to become my great hobby.

I was convinced I had found the perfect pastime. I imagined photography outings, landscapes, portraits, and a new way of seeing the world.

With that excitement, I did what many people do when starting something new: I got ahead of myself.

I bought a camera that was far better than I actually needed, a few accessories, and even enrolled in a photography course.

For a few weeks, I was completely convinced it was going to change my life.

Reality turned out to be quite different.

Between work, hospital shifts, and daily responsibilities, I barely found time to practice.

The camera spent more time stored away than being used.

I would not say the money was wasted because I learned some interesting things and still have a few photographs that I genuinely like.

But it was a good lesson about how initial enthusiasm is not always enough to turn an activity into a lasting part of our routine.

Since then, I try to remember that not every hobby needs to become a major project. Sometimes it is enough simply to enjoy it.

These questions reminded me of something interesting: some people come into our lives to help us move forward, while some experiences teach us to laugh a little at ourselves. And both end up being valuable.

Thank you for this space for reflection

A sincere hug to all
