Sitting under the old shade tree,
On a beautiful summer day.
Looking out at the shimmering sea,
After the rain drifted away.

The sun is beginning to shine,
I feel the moisture in the air.
For the moment, it feels divine,
A gentle breeze is blowing there.

Summer’s heat will be returning,
Humidity begins to rise.
To swim, I will be yearning,
Until sunset fills the skies.

For now, I am just being lazy,
The rain washed my troubles away.
I know it sounds sort of crazy,
But does it matter either way?

In the rain, I went out walking,
Then came across this old shade tree.
To me, it seemed to be talking,
I found the perfect place to be.
